  1. Just read an article about price-gouging going on around Houston and other areas in Texas.  $20 for a gallon of gas, $99 for a case of water.?  This is just as bad a looting, IMO.  A crew from a news outlet stayed at a Best Western Hotel and got charged $300-something dollars a night, when it's normally $120!!  This behavior is disgusting and immoral!!!  How can someone take advantage of others in a time of need is beyond me.  Humanity if fucked!!!!!

I'll try and link the article (if I can).

  2. Totally heartbreaking.  I honestly don't think I could leave my dogs/pets behind.  We've been hit by hurricanes before and have had major damage....but never flooded.  Mostly wind damage, loss of power for a week and stranded.  But again, never HAD to evacuate...thank God.  You can't predict what mother nature will do.

@ditaluver  Hope your parents are still ok.  I know they said the water was still rising as of last night.  It will definitely be a long and daunting task repairing the damage Harvey left behind.

  3. Thinking about and praying for those affected Texans.  I was a little nervous, living in Louisiana.  We've been getting steady rain, but nothing like Texas.

As for this so-called President, he just needs to STFU!!!

I can't believe those elderly people in nursing home, sitting in water!!!  I did notice that they still had electricity!!  I'd be scared to turn anything electrical on, in fear of getting electrocuted.  Hope they made it to safety.

  4. We (well, NOT ME), but America put this buffoon in the White House.  A sexist, racist and privileged dumb ass that encourages what is happening now.  I'm also afraid to say, it will probably only get worse.  He's a fucking liar and scoundrel.  He's worried about one thing and one thing only....himself and his businesses (and his army of ignorant/racist followers).  How can people of this day and age be so stupid?  It really is scary.  I'm ready to move out of the US!!!

This is 16-year-old Australian teenager Sam Kanizay. On Saturday, he decided to cool off after football with a quick dip in the ocean at Dendy Street Beach in Brighton (a suburb in Melbourne).
After about half an hour in the water Sam's legs felt numb and tingly but he assumed it was from playing sport. But when he emerged from the sea he noticed his legs were covered in blood.

    :nervous:

Are there any places that are "safe" these days?  I was hearing warnings all summer about beaches/waters all along the gulf coast (US) about potential bacteria and infections.  Has it always been there or is it more prevalent today?  Or is the media, once again, just grabbing something and running with it?  Does make me a bit nervous, though.

Honestly, if I want to go to the beach and get in the water, I'll take my chances.  Unless I get all covered up (like M).....but NO!!  You can live carefully, but not in fear.  Or just stay home?  When dealing with the ocean, it's not our natural habitat.  Therefore, whatever you encounter is beyond your control.

Hope I'm not coming off as insensitive?

I completely agree. I don't know cosmetic surgeons let people like this go this far. Clearly they're mentally ill.

As for looking like Ken,  he's about as successful as this guy who spent £20k to look like David Beckham but looks like Kim Jong Un.

I think with one or two minor surgeries, he'll look just like Beckham!!!  :lmao:

we all do, except for the filthy rich Americans

Hey now!!!  I have a clothes dryer, but there's no way in hell I'm rich!!!  I grew up with no dryer, only a clothes line.  I take nothing for granted.  Again, I'm no rich, entitled or privileged American.  I'd give it all away just to live off the land and owe nothing to no one!!!

  8. I've been keeping an eye on April (the giraffe)....not at the zoo, but on FB.  What do they find so wrong with watching nature at it's best?  Watching a live birth, IMO, is something all children should experience.

On a side note, I watched a YouTube video the other day of a giraffe giving birth at a Dallas zoo (think it was in 2015)?  Was awesome to see.  But then I was linked to another video of the 3 month old calf playing and running around in the enclosure and breaking it's neck (and dying)!!!  I was heartbroken.  I love the zoo and seeing the animals.  But sometimes it makes me wonder.....should "wild" animals be contained just for our viewing pleasure?  I know that young giraffe could have easily been killed and eaten in the wild, but I kind of feel that that is what nature intended.?  I feel sorry for these animals sometimes...not being able to run/roam in their "natural" habitat.

    Sorry for the rant.

  9. I think Melania is gorgeous.  Donnie is...well, ugly (inside & out).  I really don't care about their sex life, their child or what they eat.  I do believe that she must be a miserable woman that loves the glamour but hates the consequences.  She looks/sounds rather shallow, but that is most probably from being married to a spoiled, controlling, short-tempered man.  I do wish her well and hope if she's not happy.....RUN BITCH!!!
