  1. The key to success when marrying into the Royal Family is to play the game and to never forget that you are NOT the star of the show. Kate understands this. In her marriage to William HE is the star. She's obviously quite happy to be a dutiful wife,to look glamorous when necessary and to give birth to the required royal offspring and in return she now gets to live the life of a Princess in the lap of luxury for the rest of her life. Meghan on the other hand, obviously believes that SHE is the star of her marriage and her ego has obviously gotten in the way. She really should've payed more attention to history and read up about another American divorcee who married into that family.  Wallis Simpson too found herself criticised by the press and unwelcome at Royal functions and spent the rest of her life paying for it.

  2. She led a long and dutiful life. It blows my mind when I think of all the major historical and cultural figures she met throughout her 70 year reign. Can you imagine the stories she must've had? Whilst I do think a monarchy is an outdated institution in the 21st century,Elizabeth served her country well. Never complained and never explained, just got on with her duty. For that I think she deserves some respect.

  3. Surely a man of Putin's experience must be aware of his fate? He HAS to know how this will end? Probably with him dead or at the very least overthrown by those around him and ousted in a coup. How can he save his (botoxed) face and present this war as a loss? How can he justify the deaths of his soldiers to the families of those men who have been killed in action? He must be aware that no democracy is going to conduct business with either him or Russia? If his end game is to win then this war will probably escalate.  I wouldn't put it past him to use biological or chemical weapons.

  4. Putin must know that deep down his days are numbered.  He grossly underestimated the Ukrainian people's reserve and determination to resist this unprovoked invasion.  Due to the greater numbers of army personnel that Russia has, they may eventually win the battle, but they will definitely not win the war. All Putin has succeeded in doing is isolating both himself and Russia on the political world stage and have set east west relations back to the 1960s.

  5. I've read some press reports that have compared Zelensky to Churchill.  Whilst I don't agree with that assessment, his bravery certainly has to be admired.  He quite easily could have taken the Americans up on their offer of a ride and fled Ukraine. But,he chose to stay and face down the Russians and their teams of assassins that were sent to kill him. Win or lose, the Ukrainian people will remember this. If not for anything else nobody could ever accuse him of being a coward.

  6. It's a cruel irony that an author who made herself a billion dollar fortune writing about a character who was an outsider and was made fun in for being different, is now using her platform to put down a section of society who themselves are persecuted by people because they too feel like outsiders.

I can't understand why she has chosen this battle to tarnish and ruin her once impeccable reputation.  Such a shame that a woman who inspired a generation of children to read and whos books taught the importance of  team work and recognizing each other's differences, will forever be tarnished by her outdated views.

  7. Those poor people. Murdered and for what? To restore some pathetic dictator's dream of a unified Russia? Meanwhile, where is Putin hiding out whilst his bombs kill people? I read press reports that he's moved his family to an underground bunker in Siberia! Such a coward!  Someone in the Kremlin PLEASE make Vladimir a nice cup of Polonium tea.

  8. Hopefully the peace talks that are underway will provide a diplomatic solution to this totally unjustifiable war.  As for Putin,I think his days are numbered. Whatever happens he has damaged both his own reputation as a leader beyond repair, and the reputation of Russia as a country on the world political stage,no democratic country would ever take him seriously after this invasion. More pressure has to be applied to him from within Russia itself.  I wholeheartedly applaud the brave men and women who have spoken out in Russia and protested against Putin. I hope it inspires more Russians to do so.

  9. The great tragedy of all this is that thousands of innocent Ukrainians will suffer because of Putin's huge ego and his longing to restore the Russian Empire. I keep hearing in the media that Putin is a great strategist, yet he seems oblivious to the fact that all of this won't end well for him and for Russia's reputation on the world stage. I also hear certain sections of the media saying that he is taking a leaf from Hitler's playbook of Dictatorship lunacy,it's hopefully only a matter of time before the Russian people rise up and run him out of office or before he is eventually either assassinated or arrested for War Crimes.

  10. My fear is that Putin, seeing that his time table of conquests in his invasion of Ukraine not going according to plan, and the Ukrainian Army being a much stronger and well organised fighting machine that the Russians had previously thought, and with the world wide condemnation against this invasion,Putin will be backed into a corner and in order to save face and not lose this war, will resort to more extreme measures. He has already implied that he will use nuclear weapons if anyone tries to stop or interfere with his plans. These are frightening times. My prayers are with the Ukrainian people and I hope that democracy and level heads will ultimately prevail.

  11. Unfortunately Madonna's days of instant top ten hits are over,as much as it pains me to say that. This is due to the fact that we live in an ageist society, who don't see acts like Madonna as "relevant to the youth market". I'd rather she released an album of top notch material and had a No1 album, than chase some trend that will be forgotten 6 months from now and had a top ten hit. At least she can take some comfort from the fact that she's had 63 top ten singles in the UK.
