What happens if Chuck croaks? willy gets the crown? and what if Will abdicates? will one of his kids be crowned king of nickelodeon? how brainwashed are the Brits?

William is now the heir to the throne when Charles dies he becomes King. If William abdicates it passes to George his son as he is next in line to the throne.

Nickelodeon isn’t included as part of the British realm the monarch becomes Head of State for, but that could change, unlikely though.

Brainwashed as in like the monarch or happy to have a monarch? Hard to give an exact figure but 2 million passes the Queens coffin so that’s a couple of million out the population but there’s over 40 million adults in the country so who knows?

They don't exist in *my world* A world where one works hard for ones privilege without a silver spoon stuck up ones arse.

Anyway now that Betty's finally in the ground, this convo is redundant.

Though I am still laughing at you falling for some parody account on twitter saying 5 billion ppl watched that pantomime!

There’s not just your world that is discussed in here though, right ?

I’ve stopped laughing at the account you fell for that stated that Charles had given Andrew councillor of state privilege when in reality it was always a law that was passed years and years ago.

I just can't with the sheer ridiculousness of this converstion. I wasn't brought up to kowtow to my 'betters' or talk about kings and queens outwith fairytale books so i just look at that reply in disbelief. I await old jug ears "reforms" with baited breath. In the meantime, here he is fucking up yet again... draw yer own conclusions...

Kings and Queens are not just in fairytale books they exist and have done through history. Even stretching back thousands of years to Pharos in Egypt.

I do agree with your sentiment though we have gone as far as we can go but I’m some ways we are not disagreeing you just loath all of it I don’t but that’s not to say I like all of it either as I’ve stated.

The clip is bizarre. King Charles the 3rd is a racist off with his head!

It's like conversing with a robot (one programmed to spout monarchist propaganda)

You do not apply to a HARDSHIP fund meant for people in poverty to heat yer fucking state rooms when yer getting paid 20 MILLION a year from the public purse for hosting banquets and cutting ribbons and been given 400 MILLION from the public purse to refurbish said shithole.

If you're not aware of the revelations last year that  “coloured immigrants or foreigners” were once banned from serving in clerical roles in royal households then that's not my problem.

i'll give you credit for not defending the paedo though - like most of YOUR LOT do.

call it propaganda if you wish I call it me looking and reviewing the facts available to me…

The palace was falling to bits at the seams it’s massive too big really and hadn’t been updated in some parts since Vitoria lived in it.

The issue is its historic place now for the country but again, it’s what the government want rather than what she wanted. The Queen never wanted to live there, she was told she has to its the seat of monarchy from the prime minister of the day.

There are too many royal homes anyways its needs majorly slimming down but I believe this will happen under Charles who has already said he wants the monarchy slimming down. All of these places need money, a lot of money to run it’s barmy but I do think they will be slimmed down and there’s major changes ahead.

He’s already said he is considering changing the law of councillor of states to throw off non-working royals which will get rid of Andrew being able to act in his absence something that is in the law of the land currently. I think he will make decisions far more in tune with society than the Queen ever did. Give him chance he’s only just got the top job.

I can believe foreigners and black people where once tried to be outed from job roles just like in many other place of society but again, that’s the establishment not the Queen herself who I don’t believe was racist. She conveyed with people from all walks of life but there is no point providing a list to you as you obviously won’t have it either way anyways….

As for Andrew, I would never defend but I wish as I stated before Virginia took him to trial to force him to face uo to to what he has done rather than accept the money. I’m not saying I blame her, that’s too strong a word but if money continues to be accepted by victims how are these vile creatures ever going to face real justice?

You're right, i don't consider any human being as worthy of reverance due to an accident of birth or marriage.

Must be a psychological thing for those that do.

It’s happened since the beginning of time.

Its how religions got started and how they maintain influence. Then you can break right down to something like the kardahians. A family famous for fuck all talent but their millions of devoted followers hang off every thing they say and do.

What's everyone's favourite memory of Betty?

Mine is when she applied to the govt's POVERTY FUND (created for needy pensioners) to heat Buckingham Palace, closely followed by the time she refused to cancel her GARDEN PARTIES while the burning embers of her subjects in the Grenfell fire were still smoldering, or maybe that time she bailed out her PAEDOPHILE son (with public money) to prevent him standing trial for raping a child, not forgetting the time she lobbied the govt for EXEMPTIONS to become the only land owner not bound by green energy laws, or perhaps that time she asked for changes to the equality act so she wouldn't have to employ BLACK people, or when she got the rules changed to avoid paying INHERITANCE TAX on her personal fortune of half a billion £££ or...or...or...

    But gawd bless 'er etc.

Buckingham Palace is state owned the Queen never owned it. The heating of the building is not simply heating her home. It contains the state rooms that the government put to use for foreign visits etc. Whether you agree with the government  business that happens in the palace or not is not the point you have poised.

The Queen was government property hence the agreement to heat it. It’s like Big Ben costing a billion to restore. It’s an historical building. End of. does that make to right ? I’m not saying it does but I’m stating the principal ….

The monarchy will always be privileged like many families in the country who could open their doors to the poor and provide shelter……this argument can go for many. Anyone who has millions in the bank could choose to donate or not. That choice is there’s alone to make. This is not restricted to monarchy.

Her being above certain laws I whole heartedly agree with you is not correct nobody should be above the laws of the land.I argue this with the church and certain faiths trying to change what school kids get taught because of God. Bollocks to that everyone should be taught in accordance to the national curriculum.

Andrew is a dirty old man. I agree he should of stood trial I kind of wish Virgina had refused to accept the pay check. He got of Scott free and it’s totally wrong.

I haven’t read the Queen tired to change anything to stop black people being employed. There are many black people that work in her staff many people of mixed race where out today I saw in TV her households coming out on the funeral…..so I don’t know about her trying to change rules to exclude black people.

I just can't understand this mentality.

It's like me getting a hard on for Mary Queen of Scots... except i couldn't give a fuck.

Some people respect and look up to the monarchies of the day, some don’t. Simple as that.

Eva Peron (political figure not royalty but same principal) was revered by many and despised by many.
I guess the choice is yours, ours.

I’ve never quite understood personally why so many hold Diana up as a kind of saint. But I understand the ingredients it takes to make an icon. And she certainly fulfilled that brief.

To place blame for hundreds of years of British history on the Queen is an incredibly simplistic argument to make.

We can all look through history with the benefit of historical hindsight  and choose to do things differently, or not at all.

But some people still see the Queen as running the colonial show which is frankly, ridiculous. But I suppose it’s what she represents for some.

No, I’m not talking about that. I’m talking about the fact that no matter how many cry like children time put those famous people in their place.

Who do you want to put in their place ?
People mourn people it’s happened in history of many from celebrity to political leaders from Evita to Princess Diana…..it’s not just happening now for the first time in history.

It’s just how some people react people admire people beyond what other people think is ordinary but then you get some who are loved on mass.

Are we all here as Madonna fans not kind of examples of what others would call fantastical and get real?

No, the Pope represents Christ on earth. Of course he is not Christ. The old man died and he was even canonized. But people nowadays remember how much pain he brought opposing to the use of condoms in Africa in the middle of the AIDS pandemic.

He’s treat like Christ those images of mothers flinging their babies up desperate for him just to touch them. I think the Popes influence is far-wider reaching than the Queens due simply to religion and how serious people take it. And the Catholic Church still has millions and millions as members globally.
Even though as you say it’s dangerous and a threat to a civilised society.

  11. 1 minute ago, karbatal said:

Well for some people I guess they get some warm feeling with that idea. Maybe ultra Catholics felt the same when the Pope died.

For catholics The Pope is Christ on Earth isnt he?

I’d say The Pope is far more popular if we are using such a word with people than the Queen is/was aren’t there a billion catholic’s globally ? And they all look to him as their leader?

NO offence shweetheart, but how bloody dumb do you have to be not to see that dragging out some animals to stare at a procession going by like some sort of horrific Disney movie is in no way heartwarming but instead performative nonsense for gullible low IQ idiots to coo over?

Forelock tugger is hardly a massive insult. They usually wear that name as a badge of honour while savouring that taste of boot polish!

Nothing coo about it she had a lifelong love of animals and the outdoor and bred horses and had corgis has pets all her life.

  13. 1 minute ago, Kim said:

Corgis and ponies... will you listen to yourself you silly forelock tugger!?

Oh and there's a whole big forum outside this ridic thread btw. Take a step out...

You said the whole thing was cold and sterile I was merely pointing out there were things in it that represented her personally.

You come back at me with name calling just because I pointed something out you obviously hadn’t seen or chose to actively not see.

Let’s just agree to disagree no point slinging insults we are adults aren’t we?

That includes people quoting made up "viewing figures" as if it's meant to be a source of pride or something.

I’ve not made anything up a quick search in google explains the expected global viewer figure was upwards of 4 billion.

But of course it’s all pretend. People haven't watched it really it’s all made up.

Anyone wondering why the UK is in the fucking state it's in only has to look at this ridiculous mass hysteria that puts North Korea to shame. Utterly unhinged.

Oh and what a horrible, cold and sterile funeral - absolutely nothing about the woman just a horrible jingoistic and militaristic display of nothingness.

The ceremony beautiful I take my hat off to all the military men and women that were involved. The marches down the mall in exceptional procession was very impressive.

But you hate the monarchy we get that.

So you won’t of perhaps acknowledged the personal touches for her such as her pets coming to say goodbye her pony and corgis before the committal.

Sorry what? Where are you finding those figures? That's 4.7 billion people. Diana was 30 million in the UK give or take.

It’s more than that it’s over 5 billion people tuned in to watch it globally today.

Far more have watched this than Diana’s don’t forget Diana died in 1997 we have multiple streaming platforms in 2022.

The figures are still being tallied up but it’s certainly going to be the most watched event of all time easily.
