So I love a good bridge and Madonna has some of the greatest ones ever. I'm trying to compile the list of bridges from Madame X but have some questions as the song structures are not as conventional on some of the tunes. Here's what I'm thinking are the bridges but I am hoping others will chime in with their thoughts. I am still waiting for my 2 CD edition to come so if someone can fill in the info for the 3 bonus tracks that would be appreciated
Also please feel free to share what your favorite bridge from Madame X is.
Medellin: ( I have also seen this referred to as a 2nd chorus)

I am not afraid 'cause I have faith in him

Beautifully done and powerful! So excited we are getting all these visuals.

I honestly don't want to read bad reviews, not because I don't think others can have a different opinion than I do but because when there are so few that are very negative, it's clear that there is a personal slant rather than an objective review of the work. Silly me, I thought music reviews were supposed to be about the MUSIC and not the artist's age, beliefs, gender, personal life, physical appearance etc. I will read a less -than stellar review that is truly objective and focuses on the content, but not this brand of transparent slander in the guise of a professional critique.

What a Bridge!
YES!!! I freaking love this part of the song!! It's so euphoric. I wish she sang more like this in the song instead of the whispers though I love them too

Medellin: Forgave myself for being me
God Control: An abnormal fraternity, and I feel more than sympathy
Killers: Wild is the world and lonely is the path
Crazy: Peel off my weakness, layer after layer
Come Alive: Stand Out, I don't want to blend in, why you want me to?
Extreme Occident: It was a different feeling, a mix of lucidity and craziness
I Don't Search, I Find: It's our gypsy blood, we live between life and death
We accept it, we shake hands with our fate
Looking for Mercy: Please, dear God, to live inside the divine
Flawed, flawed by design
I Rise: I know you see the tragic in it, just hold on to the little bit of magic in it
Freedom's what you choose to do with what's been done to you

Love this song so much! The reggae vibe, the horns, the Don't Tell Me call backs in the bridge - It all works together to make one fantastic song! It is incredibly catchy, I find myself still singing the chorus long after it's over.

I think the song title is a direct F YOU to all the moan of arcers about BIM. Madonna’s English verse/bridge is an album highlight
Yes I think you're probably right but I still think she could have found a more creative way to say F YOU The song is good fun though.

This song gives me 80's nostalgia vibes for sure. It's a feel good summer song. Also another great bridge to add to her impressive collection of bridges.
-
It's fun and catchy but feels like bonus track material to me . Also I wished she would have come up with a better title than Bitch I'm Loca especially so soon after BIM.

Her vocals in the chorus are magnificent and should silence people on that front. Not just the beautiful Portuguese lines but the “I know who I am” refrain and then when she comes in to do her own background vocals “God knows who I am.”
So agree!!

This was not a song I expected to like from the early critic reviews but I actually love it! The lyrics on paper, may seem a little cringey or too literal but her earnest delivery and the warm guitar makes it very poignant and beautiful. Does anyone have a theory about what the title means? I take it as those that are oppressing the marginalized have no remorse but rather revel in their cruelty and ignorance. It's seems like maybe one of the paradoxes she has been referencing in her interviews. I'd love to hear other's opinions also on this.

This is such an interesting and clever takeaway.
Thanks @Shaun

I am so surprised this was not included on the standard edition! Not just because I love it but that M seems to as well. Not only did she quote from it in her GLAAD Awards speech and Today Show interview as @Shane mentioned but it also featured prominently in the Madame X teaser. It's not a typical ballad with a typical song structure but it really resonates and has a real intimate vulnerability to it. I can see this working really well as a tour interlude. Stunning track

The whole album should have used her natural voice but I have to overlook
I am a fan of using her natural voice too and had to mentally prepare myself for this but I am warming up to the vocal effects

So yesterday was my first time hearing this song and I was very worried because I was so looking forward to it as another great album closer but reading the fan reviews when it was released got me really worried. However, when I heard it I was overjoyed and relieved - I absolutely love it and it's one of my favorites. Maybe it was because it was out of context that many didn't like it? There's really nothing I don't like about this song, great lyrics, great vocals and melody and a wonderful message. I think it speaks to M personally but is also universal to anyone who has felt attacked or marginalized or who just wants to give up. I think this song stands proudly against other great album closers like Easy Ride, Secret Garden, and Gone. It's inspirational.

WOW!! Where did this song come from- I was not expecting this at all! What a beauty! Her vocals and delivery are absolutely stunning throughout but my favorites are the pre-chorus "Somebody teach me how to love" and the way she sings "I'm looking for love" in the chorus is absolutely heavenly (another Karen Carpenter moment @Jazzy Jan) . How was this not on the standard edition along with EO?? For me, it's an essential part of this album and the Madame X journey. It makes me sad that someone might only listen to the standard version and never hear this gem. Just brilliant and gorgeous! I think it may be my favorite at the moment

I absolutely love the drums and the echo back vocal and the tribal feel but like some others I also feel it would have been more powerful if they left Ms vocals raw and unprocessed. I suppose it's an artistic choice though to better fit in with the album vibe and also as a juxtaposition of M's futuristic robotic vocals being repeated by the natural unadorned voices of the Batuqueros - almost as if to say their traditions/songs will still be heard for years to come. I may be reaching there but I like that sentiment. I love that she included a song like this on her album-whether you like it or not, you have to feel it's power.
-
I love this one! I agree it goes to so many places/styles in one song and they all work together beautifully. It's so uplifting and hopeful and it just makes me feel happy. The choir in the outro is an amazing ending to this incredible song.

In no particular order and subject to change:
God Control
Extreme Occident
Looking for Mercy
Future
Come Alive

Wow - this song is certainly a rollercoaster and I want to ride it over and over! I love all the parts but especially her whispered speaking, her vocals during the sung parts when the disco beat kicks in, and the male choir. It's truly epic and even though it's over 6 minutes- it goes super fast! I think it's partly because it has so many parts and it keeps your interest to see what is going to happen next. Love it!!!

I love the high note she hits on the second “search.”
Yes! That struck me as well when I listened on headphones- which is highly recommended. I agree with all the comparisons to the Erotica album- especially that spoken bridge with the "Vogue" finger snaps. This is one of those songs where you just close your eyes and let it wash over you. Gets better with each listen.
-
While not one of my absolute favorites, I like this song a whole lot more than I expected to! I think their voices do blend well where it almost sounds like she's singing with herself but I almost feel like M is a lot more in control and hitting it harder on her parts which is interesting since it's not her native language. It's a fun summer song for sure - I wouldn't mind seeing what kind of video they come up with for this.
-
I love this interview! I saw it earlier and was going to post it myself. I got such a great vibe from the interviewer and she really seemed to get who Madonna is and what she is trying to say and I think M appreciated that and it made for a very relaxed and intriguing interview- felt more like a conversation which is what it should be!

Absolutely waiting! I never listened to Rebel Heart other than official pre-releases until the day of release.
It is a mixture for me of the era I grew up in and an inability to view music as a free commodity. I want every time I play an artist’s music to benefit them either through a sale of their physical cd or streaming on an official platform.
I understand that my views are outdated.
You are not alone @Shane!

Thanks!
Yes I wasn't sure about that one - it very well could just be an alternate chorus.
