Waiting is an awesome song. Great lyrics, delivery and attitude I also love how many different melodies and sections there are to the song - very musically complex and interesting. Great song from an AMAZING album. I agree-it still sounds great and fresh to this day.

Yes! Love it! I think it perfectly shows her both sides : Rebel for her tough and brassy side and Heart for her sensitive and vulnerable side.

This is such a great melancholy song and I think it's beautifully sung. Love her layered vocals where she harmonizes with herself - so well done. I can see where some may think it drags or goes on too long but I personally never tire of it and it remains one of my favorite M ballads.

Wow this is exciting news to wake up to! Sounds like things are really moving along and she seems excited about making new music again. I have a good feeling about this era.
And I also agree - Rebel Heart should be the album title or at least a song title!

So the latest is that she is doing a song for Avicii's album then, not for her own? I guess that makes more sense after how she was just saying that the collaborators for her album were top secret. Either way it sounds like we might just hear a new Madonna song sooner than we expected which is awesome!

Love KIT! I do think it unfortunately gets overlooked because of the success of the other singles on LAP and because it didn't have a video. The BAT performance is so killer in every way. I love how she worked in Sly & The Family Stone's "Family Affair" - it was the perfect intro especially since she has said they were an influence on the song's sound.

I'm not sure how I feel until I hear what they come up with. She usually has an influence and makes an impact on whomever she works with just as much as they influence her. I'm going to try and keep an open mind. I do like "Wake Me Up" so I'm hopeful.

I agree with everything here. She was on key but her voice wasn't open because she was nervous. That's why it sounds flat...her jaw is tight and so her vibrato was inconsistent and shaky. She wasn't brought up as a singer but she has great vocal talents that are highly underrated. She sings with such clarity and emotion which is why despite the obvious technical flaws in the performance I'm still extremely touched and intrigued by it.
Amen! Totally agree with your comments on her under appreciated vocal talents.

I remember liking this performance but haven't watched it in awhile . I just watched it again and I still think it's beautiful. I don't think it gets as much attention as the SOL performance because it is a lot more subtle and less flashy but I don't think that takes away from its power. She showed a lot of class that night by performing after being snubbed. I think she sounds very vulnerable and emotional which I appreciate even more than technically perfect singing that has no soul. I also remember one of my coworkers specifically calling me after she sang to say how fantastic she was and he wasn't even a big fan. I also think the S & S performance is stunning but I think she was more relaxed in front of all her fans than she was in front of a room full of actors and academy members.

I go back and forth between not wanting to know anything until the record is released to wanting to know everything about it ! Some days I wish she would pull a Beyoncé and release a surprise album and then get to hear everything fresh but I also always enjoy the lead up to a new release and all the hype and excitement of each new reveal (album cover, track list, first single, etc). I do also love reading all the wild rumors and song names that always seem to pop up each time we hear she's starting to record.

Wow! Loving the Purim look this year - hope we get a full length shot as well. She looks amazing! Would love for this Viking/warrior theme to carry over to the new album but I fear it may be a long way off and she may tire of it by then.
