It is strange she actually performs part of a new song in May, even wears a hat with the title, and then nothing all Summer and now probably Fall too. Come on, M! I don't think she's done anything like this before (could be wrong though).

Well a) she did perform LMTWGR in the summer of 1985 and TB didn't drop until more or less a year later

and b) who's to say that Beautiful Game will even make it onto the new album.

I also find it frustrating that there are no news whatsoever about where the album process is at the moment but the more people forget 2018 as a potential release date the more they won't be disappointed or to phrase it differently, the more they will be pleasantly surprised if the album is indeed released this year.

  2. Have people read the Genesis timeslines of her previous albums on this forum? With the exception of MDNA and BS all of her albums since the 90s took more or less one year from early inception to proper release.

We know she went into the studio in January for a day or so. Things didn’t really pick up until March. So unless she was secretive and has been working on this new album since last year, chances are she is exactly now where she was with RH three years ago, meaning hello first quarter release.

    Why the drama?

Hope the album is done since she hasn't been in the studio now for a month. Let's hope end of the month/September brings more news like album photoshoot, first video shoot details etc...

don't wanna be a party pooper but the same thing happened with RH. After her vacay she went back into the studio and the rest is, well, history.

Having said that, I am still hoping for a fall 2018 release.

My guess is photoshoot in november and a Q1 2019 release followed straight up by a tour

You could be right, though I still have an uncomfortable feeling that there might not even be a tour this time around. She owes Interscope one final album...but the question if the LN deal, more specifically the touring portion, is fulfilled still remains to be seen...

Directing this movie will take more or less an entire year of her life (including post-production), so I wouldn't expect a tour in the middle of this.

John Grant album coming out October and we already have first single and track list.

M14 is not coming until 2019.

which would fit her typical routine aka releasing an album roughly one year later after first going into the studio.

    A return 2 WARNER please.

A decade ago we would not have dreamed of saying this. But I agree, LN and Interscope have contributed to ruining her music career...  of course also not forgetting with the lack of any help from Guy O.

  7. She has kids now, so she won't be recording or finishing the album during the summer. It’s vacay time y'all.

So the window for a Q4 release is rather small but not impossible. Having said that, again, it usually takes one year from rumors about heading into a recording studio until the damn album is finally in the stores (exceptions being MDNA, BS, and her early 80s creative endeavors).

These are busy people, they do not ALL fly into  Lisbon exactly at the same time just for a social visit. They are on a schedule. Expect them to start shooting SOMETHING tomorrow! The previous album shoot took 3 days I think. Will be keeping a close eye on all their insta stories!

If she is shooting the photo for the album cover, then it is safe to say that her album might drop in 4 months...judging from previous album cover photo shoots...no?

  9. Her music career did end overnight outside of the USA with the release of MDNA. Interscope did nothing in Europe to promote her album. You even had to dig through the racks to find the damn album on the release day for crying out loud.

Having said that, Guy O is as much to be blamed as Interscope. He is her manager. He has to make the deal happen and if the record label won’t do anything to sell the CDs, he has to kick their asses and, again, make things happen. But he does not care because ultimately the money can’t be found in CD sales but in touring and merchandising. And she went along this greedy business model, either believing her brand would have enough recognition to sell her music or simply accepting the trade off to becoming even richer thanks to Live Nation.

Hope the new output will be a quality album. Forget the sales and charts. They are meaningless at this point, unfortunately.
