    Is this movie racist? Hell yeah, but it would have been anachronistic to set it in Civil War Atlanta and then not be racist.
    This cancel culture is a slippery slope. Today it is Gone with the Wind, tomorrow it will be Who’s That Girl. Put a disclaimer before playing the movie and let people decide on their own. 
    On top of that it is just playing into conservatives’ narrative, in my opinion, who exploit it and try to convince others how ridiculous and radical these socialists (aka Democrats) are. Just ask Meghan McCain. 
     

    Statues in public spaces, however, is a different beast. Put them in a museum if necessary and have a tour guide provide some context with educational data. I have never understood how the South could get away with these Confederate statues today. That’s as if Germany erected a statue of Hitler in Berlin today.

    Yeah but Republicans fall in line when called for it. Democrats tear each other apart. Combine that with Russian interference and voter suppression and you’ve got yourself another four years of Trump - which in my opinion the American democracy won’t survive. 

    i swear sometimes people are so ignorantly stupid, it’s simply astonishing to me. If anything 2020 has taught us to be appreciative and to be focused. If only the Dems got their shit together for once, he could be voted out this year.

    How high is your fever if I may ask? Three weeks ago I had a dry cough which came out of the blue which kept going for a while. Then as suddenly as it came, the cough disappeared. I did not have any high fever (very mild for a day or two) but I did feel under the weather. I self-isolated myself and now I'm feeling better. Dunno if I had the virus. Would be great if I could test my blood for antibodies. Regular testing was not possible because I did not show any other symptoms, e.g. "proper" fever. 

    In any case ashtangi74, speedy recovery and keep positive thoughts. In a few days you will be immune and can walk outside without wearing any masks or live in constant fear of contracting the disease!!!

    Me too. It would have flowed beautifully. Bitch I’m Loca is cute but imho not on par with the rest of the album.

    Personally my take on the current situation is: let the Brits crash out of the EU if that’s what they want and will make them happy. It’s insane but you can’t stop people from doing foolish things when they feel they have the upper hand. The top 1% will benefit from the following chaos because they can finally do whatever they want without any deals limiting them. The rest will suffer and of course the responsible ones won’t be blamed. Life sucks sometimes. 

    I have tickets for February’s London show and if necessary will apply for a visa. There are far worse things.
