A few weeks ago I told you all about the Anitta' collaboration rumour and nobody believed. What now?
Fans tend to deny any rumour they don't like for whatever reason . It was pretty obvious since the moment rumours started about a collaboration and Madonna was liking and commeting Anitta related posts on Instagram. Same thing with Maluma.
-
Not that it means anything, but Madonna just liked Maluma's post about Anitta on Instagram.

she's probably a friend of Oseary's Brazilian wife.
She is probably the biggest international act from Brazil right now. She has also work with Diplo.

I don't reall y care about Anitta but isn't she HUGE in Brazil?

I might be in the minority here but I like more the videos from the last 2 albums than the ones from her last 3 albums with Warner
American Life - The original American Life video is great, the flags one is horrible, don't care about the Hollywood one and Love Profusion is terrible too.
Confessions - Hung Up is amazing, the other 3 not so much.
Hard Candy - I really like the 4 minutes videos, GI2M is bland and Miles Away is just the live performance for the tour
Vs.
MDNA - GMAYL is amazing, LOVE GGW and TUTR is a mix of great moments with several weak ones
Rebel Heart - Living for Love is very weak for a lead single video but OK as a video, Ghosttown is very good and Bitch I'm Madonna really fun.
Her last album to have a perfect lineup of videos is Music. From the last 5 albums MDNA has the best videos overall.
Still her imput in the last 15 years is above almost all current artists videography.

Why is people SO SURE about the Maluma collaboration?
It's not sure but somewhat likely at the moment.
1) Maluma´s main producer was in a London studio while Madonna was recording too (but apparently they were in different studios)
2) While Maluma was recording something Madonna commented to him in Instagram "Are you working rubia?" or something like that (this one for me is the biggest indication, why would she ask something like that to someone she barely knows?)
3) "Leaked" tracklist in her Instagram has a song that appears to be "Medellin", the colombian city where Maluma is from.
Right now my guess is that he will be on the record in some degree.

The clip sounds promising! Thanks!

Is there a link for the full song?

Is at #95 on US Itunes. It's really catchy and it's getting great feedback from the general public.

Btw Madonna neither wrote or produced on this. When was the last time that even happened?
In Wikipedia she appears as one of the writers (but not a producer). Can anyone confirm?

Strategically I think is a good decision:
- A lot less competition (December is a terrible time) and at least a whole year to focus
- Portuguese/Latin mixed with Mirwais sounds like music that will work better closer to next year spring-summer than this winter.
- Unfair and weird bad press (Aretha "tribute, Cher diss) in the last months
- That Gaga creature will be the talk of the town at least until Oscars. I don´t want to heard comparisons between them and want the media to only focus on Madonna and her music.
- Not that it will change in 2019, but 2018 has been horrible to female pop artists (especially older ones)
I was not expecting a release this year anyway. She will follow the path of her last 2 albums.
And people complaining about the 4 year gap. She is 60, has 6 kids (2 little ones) and has given us enough music, movies and concerts to survive a few more months.
-
Edgar Barrera is recording in the Abbey Road Studios. Does Madonna record there when she is in London?
-
Actually the 2 singles strategy is not a bad one. One two months before album release, and the second one the same week with album release.
-
Hard Candy is her most underappreciated and underrated album by fans.
-
Unless it ends up being a "surprise" album, I also think it will be released in 2019 (Most likely March like MDNA/Rebel Heart)
-
Vinyl, digital download and streaming (Spotify) for sure. On the fence with CD (would only do it to add it to my collection)
-
Diplo, then Blood Diamonds, then Avicii.
I like Kanye but his work here makes some of the songs sound worse than their demo version (Wash All Over Me was detroyed)
-
It really should have been the first single and never got the hate when it was released.
