  1. It was also confirmed that they used a "demo vocalist" during production for when Madonna wasn't in the studio, so the fact that someone heard a non Madonna demo that's different from the final version means nothing. That could be from any stage in the creative process.

People keep ignoring this even though we knew this from the beginning & it was stated multiple times during the album-making process. From what's been said, Priscilla is one of the vocalists they used. People are hearing a demo, like the supposed non-M GMAYL one, for example, & making a lot of assumptions based on that. There are little bits & pieces of info & some people write soap operas (sometimes that go w their own pre-conceived notions) out of that.

I think Tastyboy also made the assumption that M had nothing to do with Masterpiece because he felt that when M was giving her Golden Globes thank you speech that it looked like to him that M probably met Julie for the 1st time. He didn't actually know it for sure, but he made an assumption based on a couple seconds of footage & then jumped to conclusions. Whether she did or not, I don't know, but even so, you don't have to be in the same room to write a song together. Stuff gets sent back & forth all the time & we know Orbit stated he was sending stuff back & forth to M via encrypted methods when they were working on the acoustic versions of some of the songs on MDNA, so it's not a novel concept to them.

  2. No, she said she the well was dry after the Super Bowl when asked about the tour, not about MDNA album. She was joking (about being exhausted), just like the "pay the rent" joke she's been throwing out since the early '90s. That was before she started rehearsals (?) on the MDNA Tour & we know how that turned out. She was heavily involved in the SB Half-Time performance, she was even very involved in the TOD perfume. She's very involved in lots of things she does, she's often not one to let others do things for her, though I'm not saying it's 100% of the time. Sometimes I think people just listen to what they want to hear. All the collaborators have vouched for her involvement & how meticulous she is, I don't know what else they have to do to prove it.

  3. Someone I know who is just a casual fan saw the videos & is now desperately trying to get tickets for 2 shows, but isn't finding any for the 1st city & there are only a few extremely expensive seats left behind the stage in another city. Her husband is going with her and he's not a fan. Her friends are not fans either & got tickets (although that might've been based on M's SB performance).

  4. Tastyboy had also said that Madonna didn't write any of GMAYL based on there supposedly being a demo without her vocals, but we already knew that they were going to use vocalists throughout the process anyhow with M being involved both before and after. That doesn't mean that Madonna had 0 to do prior to that point. A lot of assumptions are made by him based on tiny bits & pieces of info. We know Madonna wrote the lyrics to GMAYL & might've had a hand in the melody, at least from what's been said. I think someone one here (drunkbysix) asked Priscilla if she wrote Love Spent on her own and she said she wrote it with Madonna. Priscilla was used as one of the vocalists throughout the process too, but like I mentioned, it doesn't mean M had nothing to do w the song prior to that point. I think there was a lot of back & forth with tracks and demos being sent & changed as the process went along. Martin also mentioned working with M on guitar a lot & writing--if she wasn't involved, then why would she need to do that? As for Superstar, those are all Madonna's lyrics & melody. The other co-writers worked on the music. It's also been said that on the tracks Demo (& his team) is listed as a co-writer, he didn't actually write any lyrics nor melodies, he worked on some of the music. The only song she probably had the least work on comparatively, was probably GGW (& maybe Some Girls, but I would have to compare the version sent to Brit), but that doesn't mean she had 0 to do anyhow.

  5. Madge-ic moment: Madonna's nipple-flashing was a radical gesture

When she revealed the slogan on her back – NO FEAR – it did not seem like a pathetic publicity stunt to me. It seemed rather brave

MADONNA, 53, has had a lot of stick for flashing a nipple at 55,000 Turks in Istanbul.

A desperate publicity stunt, they said. Inappropriate behaviour in a woman old enough to be someone’s Nan.

A pathetic bid for controversy. A right old boob. Put it away, they jeer. We have seen it all before.

Perhaps I am a sucker for a desperate publicity stunt, but Madonna’s nipple-flashing struck me as a genuinely radical gesture.

This wasn’t Chicago or Berlin or Tokyo. This was one of the world’s biggest Muslim cities – only Karachi, Dhaka and Cairo can compare.

In a world where female journalists from the West often feel obliged to cover their heads when reporting from Islamic countries – although I can never understand why, as they are not Muslims – it was good to see Madonna refusing to compromise her values or her act.

Madonna is a game old bird. When she revealed the slogan on her back – NO FEAR – it did not seem like a pathetic publicity stunt to me.

    It seemed rather brave.

  6. GREAT ARTICLE

    Leave Madonna's 53-Year-Old Breast Alone

Madonna recently flashed her right breast at a concert in Turkey, prompting cries of disgust from people who think she's too old for that. WTF, people?

"'Girls Gone Wild' works for you when you're 22 — it doesn't work for you at 50," Star Jones said on the Today show this morning. She was sitting in her usual spot on the "Today's Professionals" panel, which was discussing Madonna's purposeful nip slip at a concert in Istanbul this week. The show includes a strip tease dance sequence in which Madonna strips down from a cone bra corset, to a white shirt and pants, to a black lace bra. For whatever reason, she took it one step further at that Istanbul show and pulled down the bra's right cup, flashing her right breast. Now, all anyone can talk about is how she's "too old" to show her boob at a concert packed with screaming fans who paid good money for Madonna's signature showmanship — including her unpredictability.

"What works for a 22-year-old woman or a man is not appropriate, very often, for a 53-year-old," Donny Deutsch opined next to Jones on Today. At his side was Dr. Nancy Snyderman, who echoed his sentiments. "Not special," she said. "Not a special breast, not worth doing." Oh. OKAY THEN.

(Sorry, but this is Madonna we're talking about. Love her or hate her, she's a whole lot more special than many of us.)

Over in the Daily Mail, Liz Jones wrote, "Bluntly, nudity at the age of 53 is not just gratuitous, it’s gruesome. Should I have written that last sentence? Probably not."

And Fox News's take: "It smacked of a pathetic attention grab by an artist with little current relevance — and who just four months ago blasted such antics."

Prior to her Super Bowl performance, Jay Leno interviewed Madonna about the show. He asked if there was anything she wasn't supposed to do. "Well, for sure no nipples," she kidded. "I wasn't going to go there. I mean, I don't like to repeat myself … or do what other people have done before me."

Of course she's not going to flash the entire Super Bowl halftime show audience after Janet Jackson's huge scandal. But her own concert? For which her fans bought tickets? She can flash a boob if she wants. Frankly, anyone who's seen her Sex book or Googled "Madonna nude" or some variation thereof has seen a lot more than that.

Criticize her vulgarity, her gratuity, her self-objectification — but don't criticize her age. It sends a very archaic message: See woman. See woman age. Must cover gross old woman to hide gross old woman parts.

Women have enough superficial pressures to worry about: dieting so we don't get fat, wearing makeup so we don't look ugly, getting Botox so we don't get wrinkly, dressing sexy without being labeled slutty. So apparently now when that inevitable thing called aging happens, we also have to worry about covering up enough so that we don't look "desperate" but probably also not covering up too much so that we don't look dowdy. Also, since we're so not sexy when we get old, we better not do anything to show we love our bodies or are still interested in sex or being sexy. Heavens! Women who are 53 still have breasts and... sex drives!

Should I have written that last sentence? According to the media, probably not.
