Mitochondrial DNA (MDNA) can be regarded as the smallest chromosome, and was the first significant part of the human genome to be sequenced.
In most species, including humans, mDNA is inherited solely from the mother.
Wow that's great cause everyone is thinking quick and getting the reference to MDMA, Madonna and DNA ...but this is more like M, if she's referencing her mom, in some weird 2012 way, this might be aray of light part 2. I just don't think it'll be what we expected.

ewwww i liked 'Give Me All Your Love'
I know...the new gimme and Luvin' really annoys me lol but whatever. What can we do? Nothing.
-
It's clearly "Gimme All Your Luvin'"
as it states on her official Facebook page. -
I don't understand why there's still a debate as to when the song will be released when her official Facebook page clearly states it'll be in the last week of January. With that said, I don't believe it'll be anywhere between the 23rd to the 29th. I'm leaning towards the 31rst as its closer to the Super Bowl.
If anything, a leak is the only thing I can imagine will happen any sooner. But that would kill everything so I'm hoping it doesn't leak and we all just have to wait.

Yes.
People are starved for news so any tidbit is worth posting.
Yes! And it might have to do with how big this production is ...I also heard it was Madonna's wishes that it be indoors. (however it seems false since the stadium was already announced before she was)
-
I guess there's a big chance LMFAO ARE performing as surprise guests considering they are part of the Super Bowl festival for the week of.

I'm pretty antsy for the eventual deluge to come, but I have some thoughts about the strategy for M's release.
Thankfully, she's not a new artist. She's an established one in virtually every corner of the world. I think there is such a thing as overexposure. If I could wish for anything, I'd hope this release mirrors what has happened to Adele's 21. It wasn't instantaneously huge, but it got there eventually spawning 2 global #1's so far (with "Set Fire To the Rain" looking to continue the pattern). As we all can predict, she will also clean house at the Grammy's.
It would be nearsighted to only hope for an immediate big splash. Is it impossible for Madonna to have a release that builds in momentum over time? I would certainly hope not. Maybe overexposure and too much hype are the last things we need. Maybe the folks at Interscope are going to pace everything very evenly with the upcoming tour and for the rest of the year.
For me, a slow, graceful, gorgeous burn to the top will do just fine.

Whether we like it or not, it might just happen this way and in her best interest. I think it could be a good thing,

uhm... considering it was supposed to be a new MADONNA song officially released in a GH compilation, it should've performed better in the US... anyhow, i was just referring to the US since this is the Super Bowl... has it been confirmed that CELEBRATION is part of the SuperBowl? I hope not as a stand-alone performance, a mashup will do...
To be honest, no it hasn't been confirmed. It's just something I heard from a friend who auditioned to be a dancer for the Super Bowl/tour. Nonetheless, it's likely that if it doesn't make the Siperbowl, itll be performed on tour.

You're right about that, but then there is "Let's get this started... yeah. Cause Everybody wants to Party with you". I think the chorus would work if it's somehow mashed up with Holiday. In fact, I think it would be cool to have the marching band sound from 4 minutes introduce her and then "Let's get this started... yeah" and "Cause Everybody wants to party with you" comes blasting over the speakers and then she could go into one of her songs.
That sounds awesome...and then it can go into Music...Ray of Light, ( or like a prayer S&S or even Vogue)Give Me and a Holiday/Celebration mash-up!!
-
I couldn't possibly be more thrilled about the Madonna-only vocals edit of Give Me All Your Luvin' ...I'm still skeptical about "best album" and comparing it to Ray of Light and Music but I hope it's true nonetheless. New Ray of Light? That sounds cool.
-
If Katy perry is any part of this, I'll be joining the guys for a pee break and more beer. That's it. I'm done. Lol

M.I.A is amazing. I'm very happy about the collaboration. I don't care about Minaj at all, but she's fun.
I love M.I.A. ...no complaints there. She's talented and she won't overshadow Madonna as I think Nicki and LMFAO will. There outfits are stupid and nickis facial expressions are annoying and everything about LMFAO is just a problem. Lol but I'm not complaining at this point. I just wish Give Me was JUST a promotional single for the Superbowl with a video (that'd be fine) and a real first single. it wouldn't be too far fetched since she just switched to LiveNation AND interscope so maybe they are willing to throw extra money down for the biggest female artist of all time. Lol it will be like insurance to make sure the beginning of their 3-album deal is a success.
It's possible cause William did say there were a lot of treats to come. Maybe she knows the song isnt a reflection of the album and it will be a promotional thing to get her name out there again.
-
Awesome news about CELEBRATION. I will die if she performs the Benni Benassi mix! or maybe the song will sample Party Rock by LMFAO?

Hope not.
I know, I hope not. But my friend said they were surprise guest. They're so ridiculous. I wonder how/when this is idea to perform and collaborate with all these terrible people began but I hope it ends at the Super Bowl. Funny thing is, I can almost see the LMFAO thing being true...I can see Madonna with those nerd glasses with them dancing around on stage lol. I can almost cry but it's bittersweet. I'm excited for the new album/tour.
On a side note, I heard nicki Minaj's london dragon (or something like that) for the first time...oh god, that confirmed my dislike for the girl...that and last nights performance at the new years bash. Sadly, I couldn't change the channel. LMFAO's performance style is horrid.
Thank god, a true artist performed...Miss Florence and the Machine. Real music does exist, somewhere over a rainbow of garbage.

Whether you believe me or not I have to share this news from a friend who went to the dance auditions for the Super Bowl/upcoming tour...
According to my friend, the setlist for the Super Bowl is...
1. Vogue
2. Music
3. Give Me All Your Luvin' ( with MIA and Nicki Minaj)
4. Celebration ( with LMFAO ...which I hate ugh...)
Of course this could change or may be completely inaccurate. I'm not used to sharing Madonna insider info ( since I'm never someone who gets any info) so take it with a grain of salt if you'd like, I just couldn't help but share the news if it's even true. If it turns out to be true, Happy New Year! I'm glad I could share it with fans first!
I'm not thrilled Nicki is in it and now LMFAO!!?? ugh this is turning out to be a mess (for my personal taste) but he did say Give Me All Your Luvin sounds very very similar to the demo and the choreography is VERY cheerleader. vogue is very gay and the rest is somewhat Egyptian but it's going to be huge and that it's non-stop dancing and it will be indoors. Again, I don't know if any of this is true but he is my friend and he did go to the auditions, got cut at the last 15 and also has a friend who's already been chosen to be on the tour and Super Bowl. Idiots true, I like the idea of Celebration being thrown out to the public. It's a great song with a very 2012- Holiday feel to it. Hopefully this means she'll perform it on tour.
He did also mention she will not be going to South America this tour. Not sure where he heard that but he's not a Madonna fan and wouldn't be caught dead lurking on forums or reading up on her fan sites. He's a dancer and would have loved being on tour with her. Regardless it does sound more plausible for a 15 minute set as opposed to the 5 song setlist that leaked earlier. He did sound extremely optimistic and said that although Give Me isn't the best, the Superbowl performance will be amazing and it will be very similar to what the upcoming tour will feature which I know we all already guessed and heard. Hope I provided some real insight! Goodnite guys.
-
I'm sure they would. I usually looked passed other locations. I just look at the flyers to see what they look like. But considering San Fran is so gay, I'm 100% sure they have to have some kind of Madonna events on or around her releases.
-
What ? There are Madonnarama's and Madonnathon's in NYC all year round and I'm sure you've seen all the different event flyers posted on Madonnalicious around the world thorough the years. Everytime she releases a single, album, DVD, or she's on tour, her birthday, Halloween, and new years, there's a MADONNATHON or Madonnarama. I've been going since I was like 14 . Lol
They play Madonna all night. Some are better than others but it always gets packed and they play the different tour DVD's. Fans unite. Dance til 4am to all Madonna's glory lol. I have the best time sweating, doing my imitation of her choreography. It's ridiculous but fun cause everyone loves to imitate her or come dressed like her. Tonight's sucks a little just cause they stop playing Madonna at 1am but I'm getting old and that can be a blessing in the disguise. My cue to go home and not get too wasted. Too many times, Ive stayed til 4am, being one of the few left standing and I'm dancing with another random fan to crazy for you...lol while the owner of the bar gets us shots and joins in.
The best one I ever went to was after her confessions tour in Madison Square Garden. They had a Madonnarama down the block. I was amazing. It was like 5 floors, all different eras. Performances of Madonna, a back alleyway for smokers. It was just the best. People were dressed crazy and there were cages and drag queens who redid her music videos and performed with backdrops of their own videos. It was a fuzzy dream lol
-
Any New Yorkers going to MADONNATHON at Pyramid? See you there?
-
There's too much negativity here about music that hasn't even been officially released yet. Makes me wonder if some of you are Mother Monster's minions. I,for one, am in a celebratory mood. It's a new album coming out bitches!!!! Break out the wine and the male strippers! Let's have a party and give her all our love!!!
That's what I'm talkin' about!

I'm excited too!
-
I find it strange that there aren't any more Madison Squar Garden dates AND that she's playing in Jersey and NOT Consecutively in NYC...I call that list a fake. Could be a draft,.
How much do you guys pay for tickets and how do you go about getting the best tickets? I always try, but they sell out the second they go on sale, so I end up going on stubhub and spending $400-$600 on $200-$350 tickets...I never get great seats...I'm wondering for some input from those who have had front row or floor seats or even just great seats in general.

So I was posting some pics on another thread and I came across that Interview cover with the Mert & Marcus photoshoot. It said on the cover: "Madonna, Like a Virgin all over again"
and I thought "wow, that's a brilliant idea for album name!"
Imagine this name on the album cover:
ALL OVER, AGAIN

It plays with the idea of having coming or being brought to a conclusion (Warner, marriage);
of being everywhere once again (as in back in the spotlight not only for the album, but Superbowl, Golden Globes, Truth Or Dare perfume ads, upcoming tour, Material Girl line, and W.E.); and of beginning from scratch (creating a new persona, a Madonna for the new generation).
I actually love the idea. I just don't like that it can scrutinized... "here we go again, Madonna...ALL OVER! Again!" and stupid shit like that. But you can do that with pretty much any title so whatever. I like the idea.
Or maybe "All Again" ...like a play on words like she did with "let it will be"
-
Ok, well onto ALBUM NEWS, I'm on my ipad so idk how to post a picture but Nicki and MIA posted a picture on set. Anyone else see it yet?
And madonnarama.com posted exclusive pictures and details on the truth or dare perfume.
it looks great! The on the set pic is whatever... :/ nothing special. -
I agree with that

Britney's not singing, dancing or ANYTHING and she won BEST TOUR??? What a total joke. I feel sorry for the majority of her fans who think she's "so talented"

Omg me 2 . I wonder what makes them so blind.
-
bluejean it all goes back to AL for me. The rejection of it is the root cause for her to stay keeping it as light and youth pandering as possible.
I agree it was because her fans didn't understand how brilliant American Life is (was), she's just force feeding us this mindless crap ever since. ( I do love Confessions so that formula worked in itself)
-
she should have won in the best *not moving and definitely not singing* tour category
much like someone else whose name is not likely to come up on Billboard magazine
anyway
she should have won nothing, and it's really pathetic that music in the USA is crap. I can barely even consider femme fatale a comeback. it was a huge lackluster and it just goes to show you the crap Americans like to eat.

I'm guessing this is a good sign for Give Me All Your Luvin' lol...i like the song but i'm hoping it's just a promotional push single for the Superbowl etc..
Although I do love Lady Gaga, I'm glad mainstream America is getting over her. She won most overrated? really? overrated is Britney Spears, Nicki Minaj, Rihanna, Justin Beiber, Katy Perry etc...
garbage, garbage, garbage, garbage ...all of them i tell you!Gaga uses shock value. That't not overrated. It's just entertainment.
Anyway, so glad Madonna got her little anticipation win. I can't imagine Nicki winning with the same album that's just being rereleased. jesus christ, kids today...

Birthday Song snippet!
