What’s going on with these remixes?

Is “I Rise” the next set of remixes for clubs? What happened to “Crave” Mixes, which was kind-of the next official single, or the “God Control” ones to tie-in with the video dropping.

I’m all for this new way of releasing music, but it’s all getting very confusing for the fans never mind the general public.

It’s fucked up. There’s no other way to put it.

I never understood the need of remixing a ballad. Those mixes are horrible.

But when done well they can be brilliant! Like Toni B’s Unbreak My Heart, for example. I feel like I Rise is a ballad with great remix potential because of the “anthemic” quality it has.

"Batuka" was the most intense moment of my first time-listening of Madame X. I was truly mesmerized by her artistic spunk, it made me realize that this is not a typical pop album but an innovative, brave record that was badly needed from her for a long time.

Likewise! Something about this song just grabbed me right away and I knew we were in for a ride.

Yes, people should really enjoy the wonderful ride she is giving us this time, everything about it is amazing so far--most importantly--the music. I think she is really going to go for it with the video, someone fucking has to, as even in this thread, so many people people are so concerned about "the way it will come across" or "she had better be sensitive." What doesn't come across well, and is as insensitive as can be, is that we barely hear about mass shootings in the US now...it's a sound bite for a day. I'm proud of her for speaking up (once again)...and with such a great song.

Actually I think we hear about them all the time. We just do nothing about it.

I am sure M's team will subject Anitta to a thorough deep clean before she is allowed anywhere near M's creamy smooth pop icon goddess body. She is germphobic after all.

I’m afraid not even a thorough power-washing followed by a plastic bubble enclosure would be enough by the sounds of her own admissions!

I love the foghorn synth on the AL Rauhofer mix. Great mix.

The problem really is future. I don't mind it on the album but it's really nothing better than an interlude. We've seen it live and it's just flat.

    Oh well.

Can't wait to see what she does with Vogue!

Yes the better mix of the two for sure! I do like Future as a song, it just doesn’t make for the most exciting performance, especially in this particular setting. I could see it working mixed into a tour setlist but not one of these smaller performances

Sure. But not every gay is the same. For me, the original American Life would be special in every situation, be it tour or pride.

Never said every gay is the same. But if I had to place money on what the majority of gays attending a pride circuit party at world pride would prefer or expect, I would bet the fucking house on a remixed version of American life vs the original. It’s not my preference either, quite frankly. I adore the original and always have since the first time I heard it. But that’s completely beside the point.

Please please please let her stay away from ANY fucking generic remixes. Rauhofer, Tracy Young, Offer Nissim... the absolute worst.

Why alter any classic original mixes like American Life or Medellin?

I PRAY that she uses none of those on the tour.

To each their own 🤷‍♂️ Relatively speaking, the rauhofer mixes of American life sound like fucking ART compared to the fifteen years of shit mixes that came after that era. And we’re not talking about versions to use on tour, we’re talking about versions to use at a pride circuit party...in which case, we go back to the original album version of American life going over with an absolute thud in that specific context.

  9. One of the rauhofer mixes of American life performed live would actually be pretty epic. Vogue is obviously always great and I think I rise has an appropriate UPLIFTING message in either the original or remixed form. To me, Future is really the only dud in that list mainly because I just think it’s a bit blah of a song
