'Till this day my FAVORITE Madonna concert for ALL of the reasons you mentioned and more. The LIVE BAND and ALL LIVE VOCALS, including back-up, just a stellar performance by all - what a LIVE concert should be. She was soooooooo WHITE HOT at this time in her career, everyone just loved her too! I had this on laserdisc, and yet it was far and away superior to Ciao Italia in everyday, especially the sound. Unfortunately I don't have my laserdisc player or laserdiscs anymore, but that was some GREAT technology back then. They used to produce so many special laserdiscs that were not released on any other format and the quality was astounding.
So i was revisiting the marvelous Japan concert and i love it so much. It may seem corny to younger fans, but for those of us who grew up with that Madonna, the Who's That Girl Tour it's an ABSOLUTE FEST!
Love the moves
Love the voice
Love the face
Love those mysterious ending of Who's That Girl
Love the rock Holiday
Love the fact that she mocks her previous persona in LAV and MG and DYU
The only thing that i find annoying is the kid. I think it's because i was the same age back then and i wanted to be him and even now i still think he's ugly and useless there. I'm unfair, i know.
Oh, and what about the way Donna, Niki and Debra move and sing and dress?
And Niki's hilarious moves in Into The Groove? @6.26 onwards

Yeah ^^^ what Pud said!

She is just soooooo GORGEOUS!!! Her pics don't get much better than this. This is a throwback if ever I saw one, just a stunner, and, there goes that finger again
-
Seamless, well produced, GREAT SONGS, just an A+ album!!!
-
That tour was KILLER!, easily one of her best - and I've said this quite a bit on here!
finally the WTG tour is getting some recognition here

Me too, but it's actually been OVER thirty-years----SO MUCH great music!!!
Me too! Who else is now in the the thirty year fan club?
One of the reasons I became a fan was because when I turned LAV over, the b-side, Stay, was as good as they a-side. This is still one of the great songs from LAV!

I LOVE IT - this is awesome...yes, wish we could find the video. Never saw that sweater outside of the photoshoot, she looked beautiful too, natch!
Can't believe I am only finding out about this 30 years later - but it seems Madonna appeared on a UK live kids TV show in 1984.
"The Saturday Show" - aired on ITV in 1983 and 1984 and was hosted by Tommy Boyd and Isla St. Claire - and this set of photos on the "Rex Features" agency website are credited as being taken on Saturday March 3rd 1984.
The show aired live from Birmingham's "Central TV" studios and so this would also make it Madonna's first trip to that English city (previously it was presumed her first visit there was on the MDNA Tour in 2012!).
Interviewer Tommy Boyd has mentioned his encounter with Madonna a few times later in his career - mentioning that he and Madonna also went out to McDonalds while she was there (!?!?!?).
Now all we have to do is FIND this damned TV appearance.

i've never seen this;
Love this too - "WHERE'S THAT HORN PART!"
-
SHE'S MADONNA - Bit$% - love it, she looks amazing. I love that Clive is talking to her, this is a superstar that HE had NOTHING to do with!
-
What a wonderful song. Great vocals, haunting, meticulous production - TOP SHELF!
-
Ahhh, that wonderful Q-Sound technology lasted for about 1-day. Reminded me of the old-time Quadraphonic sound, but that lasted for decades. Still the GREATEST, greatest hits around, NO clunkers or filler.
-
What a great, well-thought-out article. Finally, and article that highlights her good and great points, focuses on the music and presents a positive take on her career and legacy in general.
Bravo!!!
-
Great, GREAT song - one of her best vocals too, even live!
-
Yes, that was like THE 12" inch single back in the day - TWO amazing songs together on one single!!! Ahhhh, the simple 80's.
Yes, it was! And a damn fabulous one too!
-
..another GREAT time during her career, she is a force to be reckoned with!!!
-
Yes, I too much prefer the PrimeTime Live interview - this one is way-too-preachy for me, which may have been the point but it's almost too political in a way, noooooo thank you!
-
Wonderful song, impeccable production and VOCALS ARE TOP-NOTCH, I wish she would/could sing like this more, articulate, precise and passionate!
-
Niki was AWESOME, plain and simple - wonderful singing voice.
-
Such a BEAUTY and so darn cute AND SEXY all at the same time - just STAR POWER oozing from her pores!
-
Love this - her BEST interview in a loooooong time, not rehearsed and mostly light-hearted and off the cuff.
-
Without question HER MOST GORGEOUS EVER!!! What a stunner -
Fantastique
-
Ugh - don't like any of it. To me her pre-fame stuff that's good begins with Sidewalk Talk.
-
Awesome - I listen to this ALL-THE-TIME, perfection in every way.
-
Ugh....she looks like she's in pain.
