Extreme Occident is essential which makes it a strange choice for deletion for the standard version.

Batuka is one of the most intriguing songs, it's everything i expected when she started talking about experimenting with world music and Mirwais
I hope Madonna sticks with him for another album at least, they have powers together
Mirwais forever!

With the disco on this album she could theoretically do Rescue Me on tour.
-
God Control feels endless in length.
-
-
It'll be on Spotify in a matter of hours so no.
-
From what's available I hear Bedtime Stories, Evita, and Music. Madame X is stranger than I anticipated. I appreciate the attempt after wallowing in youth culture for the previous two albums or three if you count Hard Candy as chasing the approval of the kids.

The standard edition is contractual obligation. The deluxe is Madonna's preferred version and the box set is a bonus for super fans willing to shell out the big bucks.
-
Would be nice if she wrote about her other four children. Lola and Roc have official records devoted to them. I remember the speculation was Hey You about David. Looking for Mercy better be about Mercy James.
-
Extreme Occident sits comfortably on the throne without any usurpers from the officially fully released crowd.

I'm holding off on listening to this one until Friday but I have to say just reading those lyrics, something about them feels very "classic M pop".....like they could fit on one of her first couple of albums.
I kind of like how all 3 of the songs so far have been sort of polarizing. That means she's doing something right! Seems like Crave will be no exception. Can't wait to hear it!!
I sincerely believe everything will make sense as an album. The tone is of the material thus far is less aggressive.

I'm re listening American Life again . I'm a HUGE fan of his work on Music but I was disappointed with AL to be honest - I think it was to do with the whole vibe
of that era rather than the music ( I know it's one of your favourite albums ) .
I don't like the American Life era either. It was wholly negative aside from how awesome the music was to me.

I'm hopeful and I'm loving everything so far. Keeping my fingers crossed .
I know everything will function best in album form. Mirwais has never been this subtle. Although, he only produced the first record released so far. And Extreme Occident comes from him and promises to be what we remember from their previous efforts of emotionalism and experimentation.

It's a perfect chill out Summer song. With the previous tracks it wasn't live at first listen for me . But this one was like "WOWWWWWW" !
Truth be told I'm waiting for something that matches the quality of the teaser snippet.
-
The small snippet from the album teaser is still the most impressive track we've heard, and we have yet to hear the whole thing. Funny enough said song is exclusive to the deluxe version.

Mine too. Blasting it in my car and the melody is so so beautiful .
Lee's voice blends so well with hers.

This is my favorite of the three songs.

This is the one track release I am concerned about. DIplo is a good producer, sure, but Quavo I find insufferable.
Madonna has questionable taste in rappers. Vanilla Ice being the worst of her boy toy collaborators.
-
I love Madonna's voice which is often criticized for not being much but it has so much warmth even when the soundscape behind her is electronic.

Another collab? Okay...
She has four on the album. One more anchored as single material won't disrupt the flow of things.

Reading the tea leaves here. M listed lots of Madame X personas. The first one was Cha Cha Instructor (Medellín) and the last one is prostitute. Based on the track listing could prostitute be the persona behind I Rise?? . Makes you think about “rising” in a totally different context doesn’t it?
Why's It So Hard?

Yeah, I Rise isn't that strong as a closer.
