Is it just me or does Hold Tight sound way lower in volume than the other songs?...
I had the same feeling but its volume is actually the same as Joan Of Arc and other mid-tempos/ballads. I think it has to do with Bitch I'm Madonna's "loudness"
-
I don't think any real M fan would be okay with not having a physical copy of a studio album though.
-
I don't want to be the debbie downer but the vocals on Iconic are still pretty muffled. I don't think they have paid enough attention to the mastering/mixing of this album, which is unfortunate considering how much effort was put into the songwriting/productions.
-
I've been doing the comparison, and really, i'm not noticing any difference, they both sound awesome clear and sharp, I'm listening on noise reduction Bose headphones...
Did you not notice any quality difference? Hold Tight literally sounds 10 times more polished and clean. The leaked album is not even very HQ and some layers of certain songs sound extremely muffled.

I fell in love with Beautiful Scars instently, I love both the demo and the final version. For me there is much more reason to love the song because personally I always used to be the kind of person who always tried so hard to be liked by someone I wanted to be friends with or someone I was interested in, always going above and beyone to prove myself worthy but I came to a realization that the right people will respect and love you for who you are with your "beautiful scars" and all
That being said I still believe very strongly that the month wait for the official release is both unecessary and a bad idea. Links keep circulating for leaks, whether it i official or unofficial material so really, is Madge and her team really doing this amazing album justice by delaying the release so long when everything is available online. I say release it right after the grammy's in full digitally at least, that will also cause the surprise factor which would be an added plus to commercial success.
But there will be even MORE illegal links after the official release so I really don't see the point of just dropping it on iTunes. Leaking a month before official release isn't really THAT bad.

Hold Tight (Demo #4) is INSANELY good
-
Unlike a lot of people here, I absolutely adore the new version of beautiful scars
This. The demo is such a cheesefest and it was never a fan favorite. Then they announced the deluxe tracklist and people went NUTS because Beautiful Scars was axed and I was like "WTF I have NEVER seen anyone praise the song when it leaked!"
-
I have seen SO MANY of these people complaining how disjointed the album is yet come up with a messier tracklist. WTF?
-
I agree it doesnt feel mastered, but who knows nowadays. baffling decisions are made about the end release all the time. One of the things i was so impressed with about the 6 advance tracks that we got, was how well mixed they felt. her voice was balanced and level in all the music, not buried underneath distorted or loud instrument tracks. Some of these leaked versions feel like that, so maybe its true. that said it does feel very close to the end product.
What even? The 6 tracks have major mastering issues too. Obvious ones.
-
Some people are even stuck in the 90's. You don't wanna bother or blame them.
Exactly. I'm STILL seeing comments like "I was expecting ROL 2.0" in freakin' 2015
-
Quite a few people at ML are saying she should have stuck with Avicci.
Don't they release that sound is dated now?
Madonnatribe and Madonnalicious are the most bitter fanbases of all pop stars so I don't really know why you would care so much about what others think? Those people have listened to each demo version for at least 500 times so obviously they would NEVER be able to let them go. Even a little change in chord progression in a song that you are familiar with would completely throw you off.
-
A few people at MT are complaining about various "butchered" songs (compared to the demos), although the moderators have (quite rightly) closed the thread and there is to be no more discussion about the album until it's released (repeated warnings about not discussing unreleased tracks went unheeded, so they ended the discussion).
Some other major fans I know are saying it's 50% good, 50% underwhelming, "too long" etc. etc. I'm excited to read the universal praise in here, though, and can't wait to hear it all on March 6th, which is exactly 28 days and one hour away here!
Mtribe is dumb as fuck though. Is there anything from M that they don't bitch about?
-
This is not the standard cover. It's the alternate cover for the Heart side of the album
PLEASE M PLEASE release one version that separates the REBEL/HEART tracks with SEPARATE covers. That would be my 'official' version of the record.
-
but the fade from How High into Isaac though!
Living For Love - Hung Up
Devil Pray - Get Together
Ghosttown - Sorry
Unapologetic Bitch - Future Lover
Illuminati - I Love New York
Bitch I'm Madonna - Let It Will Be
Hold Tight - Forbidden Love
Joan Of Arc - Jump
Iconic - How High
HeartBreakCity - Isaac
Body Shop - Push
Holy Water - Like It Or Not
Inside Out - Fighting Spirit
Wash All Over Me - Super Pop
-
Listened to Confessions last night. Hung Up now sounds even more vastly superior to anything on Rebel Heart - I still don't think RH sits along with CoAD or Ray Of Light, but definitely Top 5 albums ever. Still need a lot more time to pass to truly judge though.
But Hung Up along with Get Together are the only Confessions songs that are tiers above Rebel Heart. For me this record is just way more exciting than COADF, the second half of which is absolutely dry and boring. Yes I said it.
-
I'm hoping that one of the versions will be in a double album format with M's original vision of the record.
-
Wash All Over Me is such a stunning closer for the standard album.
-
After a whole day of listening:
Iconic, Body Shop, SEX, Holy Water, VVV: No.
Inside Out and Hold Tight: ruined by the poor production :-(
The rest is gold :-)
Not feeling half of the album?Sucks to be you :/
-
The final version of Wash All Over Me shits all over the demos. I liked the house sound but all of the demo versions were clunky as fuck, which probably meant that they had no idea what to do with it. I'm glad we actually got a version that flows smoothly.
-
Pretty sure this is the real thing. All songs fit the listening party description perfectly.
The only thing that might be demo about them is the mastering.
I don't think that "reviwer" actually attended the listening party. He later admitted having a copy of the leaked album so he was basically just reviewing the same files that we got today. But I do believe this is pretty much the final version of the album. Even the track lengths match.

Does someone keep deleting my posts? I'm really confused
Can someone tell me if the leak is in iTunes/CD quality or not?
Doesn't sound mastered to me, but well I thought the first 6 tracks were not mastered too but apparently I was wrong
-
I think the album sucks.
sucks to be you
-
Finally a secured UK hit this time. The rest of europe will catch up on it for sure.

A MESSAGE TO MADONNA, GUY OSEARY AND ALL INTERSCOPE STAFF:
IF YOU'RE AWARE OF THIS LEAK BY NOW, YOU MUST RELEASE THE ALBUM ON ITUNES IMMEDIATELY.
THE DAMAGE IS ALREADY DONE BUT IF YOU DON'T RELEASE THE ALBUM NOW, THE ALBUM WILL TURN INTO THE FLOP TO END ALL FLOPS.
A MINORITY OF FANS (LIKE ME) WILL REFUSE TO ILLEGALLY DOWNLOAD IT, BUT THOUSANDS OF OTHERS WILL NOT.
PLEASE ACT FAST FOR THE SAKE OF OUR QUEEN!
Stop overreacting. The illegal versions are still gonna be available on the Internet whether they release it now or not. People who are willing to buy her album will buy it regardless. The general public does not google "rebel heart download" to look for a leaked album either. I never get the fuss over early leaks. Who would care except for fans?

Most people have pre-ordered the deluxe version, so it makes no sense to drop the super deluxe on iTunes.
