ideally she should have released the album the day after the Super Bowl. OR a week before that. that would have been huge.

Why put resources into finding a new market for her music when you already have a captive audience.
I swear to God some of you are like MJ fans, so concerned with public perception and your fav remaining on top.
Just enjoy the music, that's what she made the album for, and leave the business stuff to the professionals.

Me too :/. Aside from the leaked GMAYL demo, which I truly believed was a leaked demo, a blip, and bypassed it, there was this ROL esque pre buildup/ hype. Everything was feeling perfect and that it was her time to come roaring back in an epic way. The foundation was totally there. Over the lastt 30 yrs, when shes had a lackluster album or two, shes always showed up stronger and better and the world embraced it. The MDNa album name, cover, superbowl etc..everything was getting hotter and hotter then..then GMAYL

Plus, he's still "compiling the remixes" for GGW on iTunes - so he's dead busy. Sadly, most of us compiled them on iTunes for free weeks ago.

It's very simple. Lead single make or break an album period.
Whoever was responsible for releasing it doesn't know shit pretty much. When it was leaked 2 months in advance the reception was terrible how they couldn't see that is AMAZING.

I remember when the song leaked, Guy O. said someyhing like "we are very happy that the song got a positive response from fans, but sad that someone leaked it blahblahblah" and I'm like "what positive response"?

I have pretty much been saying the same thing in another thread. The lead single should be the song with the biggest worldwide appeal.
GMAYL is the weakest song on the album. I just don't know how they thought it would perform well. It just doesn't scream lead single. I get
why she performed it a the Superbowl but that should have been the end of it . Also as others have said they waited too long to release the
album. It should have released immediately after the Superbowl.
If TUTR was chosen as the the lead single I think we would be looking at a different situation.
I have a feeling this era will be a short one. It's such a shame because the album has so much potential.

One bad single choice is bad enough but two is unforgiveable. Alas, TUTR isn't strong enoug to turn the project around in my opinion.

Im actually feeling more and more passionate abt. her firing Guy O by the day. Madonna needs someone like a Benny Medina etc..someone whos ruthless but has their priorities in the RIGHT place. Hes much more like a Freddy Demann and would focus on the music, promotion, marketing first and foremost etc...NOT simply using and milking an established namebrand to go from A-Z without doing anything in between and 'expecting' fans/people to simply spend money on where its 'really important' (touring, perfumes, clothing lines, etc.). Its all so arrogant and signs of BAD management. I believe Benny Medina is back managing JLo whos career was in ICU. That, and look at what he did for Mariah in 2005. That guy has SKILLS and she needs him or someone like him asap to inject her with a hit song!

Thats what I dont get. It was an almost universal vomitfest. You would have thought they would have said, oh shit this isnt good, lets go back in the studio and re-work the whole song.
Mind you, I personally dont hate the song. I can listen to MDNA and not skip it, but its obvious why it bombed.
