It mostly simply, and sadly, comes down to abortion. The narrative or PRO-LIFE for the evangelical trumps (sorry pun) everything else. Abortion, and gay marriage to a lesser degree, are the rallying cries of the current Republican party/evangelical Christian right. It is that and that only in many cases. Nothing will change their minds.Ā

Some of the "sweetest" people I know think the Democrats kill babies and for that, they will always vote Trump/Republican.Ā

BINGO! This right here. Talking to people I know that support him always mention the abortion thing as one of the main reasons of their continued support......and mind you I know for a fact some of these people have had abortions themselves. It's truly unreal to me...this cult is fucking sick.

This cult is so ignorant. They will support a fascist, racist, compulsive liarĀ who does not care about peopleā€™s health, democracy,Ā the climate and encourages violence by hisĀ cult simply because he has sided with anti abortionists for votes.Ā

It is startlingĀ how many conspiracy theorists support Trump. He has really captured all who haveĀ fallen deeply down the rabbit hole. Day 1-nowĀ was NEVER policyĀ or 'economic uncertainty' lol. Economy, market, gas prices, peaceful etc (all KEY factors in any elections) were more than FINE in '16. Like Reagan,Ā which is why Bush (more of Reagan won)! W Bush only won 'cause of post 9/11 buzz & natl. security most vital factor then anything else. Would've gotten crushed by O in '08!Ā

No...this was/is ALL cultural & 1 issue lunatics (abortions, guns, more colorful society,Ā LGBT & loathing Hillary/Obama etc..) Oh..now the SQUAD! 'Gays' somehow became the least of it but the 'T' part def. another new boogeyman for them. Something the far andĀ center right are crazed over now (bathrooms, *religious libertyĀ etc..) like the 'gays' in the 70s-early 00s.

Not about money, health, ethics, livelihood etc...If so (like Carter HW Bush, Hoover etc..) T would've gotten decimated in the Elec College! But he didn't! ALL primal & personality.

IĀ grew up w/ maany Ts (look, speak,Ā think like him). HEĀ is them (& visa versa!) Not not being 'PC'Ā but having some of kind of refrain, moralĀ compass which every previous Pres. was abt. Now, even DemocracyĀ is considered limp wristed, weak and lame to these ghouls (70+ million)!Ā His followers are/were always just that.Ā (fascists, pro theocracyĀ or some kind of variation). They're unleashed unlike any time is US history.

Keep saying...not if but when another T gets in who is smooth, glossy, semi likable young, *smart (KNOWS the govt.) etc...but does the same (if not worse damage) They know they NEED that 70+ mill base! šŸ˜•Ā Ā

Although I agree with your sentiment, I think this type of over-simplification is the reason why Trump won in the first place and why we will once again end up with a Republican sooner or later and why itā€™s so difficult for Democrats to take control of Congress.Ā

White, rural America (who generally happen to be evangelicalĀ xenophobes)Ā has been struggling and disappearing for decades, and Democrats have done next to nothing at least since I can rememberĀ to make these people feel included in their overall vision of America. Whether we like it or not they are partĀ of America; a big part of America.
Ā

These people feel angry, frustrated and disenfranchised andĀ are easily manipulated. Thatā€™s where Trump came in and took advantage of this. 4 years ago he was out there in middle, ruralĀ America speaking to these people in their language and it worked. Meanwhile, Democrats were campaigning in California and all the states that were OBVIOUSLY going to vote blue, withĀ Hillary calling those peopleĀ deplorables,Ā only addingĀ fuel to that fire and giving them a specific reason to vote in record numbers.Ā
Ā

The reason why I think this type of over-simplificationĀ is dangerous is because the US is not a directĀ democracy, itā€™s an indirect democracy that was specifically designed and planned to make sure rural America isnā€™t underrepresented and all we need is another situation where just a handful of angry racists assholes vote enough and BOOM another fucking monster gets into office, even if there are millions more voting against.Ā
Ā

I bring this up because I see time and time again that weā€™re all focusing on the obvious (theyā€™re racist Karens, we know that), but we and Democrat leadersĀ more importantly donā€™t seem to look at the root cause of all of this, and the ONLY reason Biden won this time is because Trump is a fucking piece of trash that shouldā€™ve never been president in the first place. That was enough to get people out there to vote.Ā If Democrats donā€™t win the senate race in Georgia weā€™re FUCKED.

LEGO artist Ochre Jelly was inspired by Rudy Giuliani's post-election press conference in the parking lot of Four Seasons Landscaping in Philadelphia. Such an epic moment deserves a tribute in LEGO blocks and minifigs, so he went to work to create the LEGO set he calls "All the networks!"

I am sure the set will be appearing in the shops just as soon as President Trump begins his 2nd term (ie. never). :chuckle:Ā

A LEGO minifig head is too smooth and consistent to ever truly resemble Giuliani, but the body language and facial expression is spot on.

Well, my intention was not to over-simplify. I just didn't feel like writing that much at the time.

But while you make many good points, I don't see it as an over-simplification at all. At some point, it is what it is. Personally, I'm kind of over the whole 'everything Trump and Trumpism is the fault of the Dems/the left'. Sorry, but at some point, you have to own who and what you are. If we have to do it, so do they.

On a more personal note, at this point, considering everything that has gone down, and what is playing out with this virus as we speak...I just don't have any more fucks to give. I just don't. I'm just calling it as I see it. :dazed:

Wisconsin election officials say Trump observers obstructing recount, some ā€˜clearly donā€™t know what they are doingā€™
By MICHAEL TARM | ASSOCIATED PRESS | NOV 21, 2020 AT 6:30 PM

VUPQALADYONVIH44CUMMCV22FU.aspx

Election workers, right, verify ballots as recount observers watch during a hand recount of presidential votes at the Wisconsin Center on Nov. 20, 2020, in Milwaukee. The recount of the presidential election in Wisconsinā€™s two most heavily Democratic counties began Friday with President Donald Trumpā€™s campaign seeking to discard tens of thousands of absentee ballots that it alleged should not have been counted. (Nam Y. Huh/AP)

MILWAUKEE ā€” Election officials in Wisconsinā€™s largest county accused observers for President Donald Trump on Saturday of seeking to obstruct a recount of the presidential results, in some instances by objecting to every ballot tabulators pulled to count.

Trump requested the recount in Milwaukee and Dane counties, both heavily liberal, in hopes of undoing Democrat Joe Bidenā€™s victory by about 20,600 votes. With no precedent for a recount reversing such a large margin, Trumpā€™s strategy is widely seen as aimed at an eventual court challenge, part of a push in key states to undo his election loss.

A steady stream of Republican complaints in Milwaukee was putting the recount far behind schedule, county clerk George Christenson said. He said many Trump observers were breaking rules by constantly interrupting vote counters with questions and comments.

ā€œThatā€™s unacceptable,ā€ he said. He said some of the Trump observers ā€œclearly donā€™t know what they are doing.ā€

Tim Posnanski, a county election commissioner, told his fellow commissioners there appeared to be two Trump representatives at some tables where tabulators were counting ballots, violating rules that call for one observer from each campaign per table. Posnanski said some Trump representatives seemed to be posing as independents.

At one recount table, a Trump observer objected to every ballot that tabulators pulled from a bag simply because they were folded, election officials told the panel. :rolleyes:Ā

Posnanski called it ā€œprima facie evidence of bad faith by the Trump campaign.ā€ He added later: ā€œI want to know what is going on and why there continues to be obstruction.ā€

Joe Voiland, a lawyer speaking to commission members on behalf of the Trump campaign, denied his side was acting in bad faith.

ā€œI want to get to the point of dialing everything down ā€¦ and not yelling at each other,ā€ Voiland said.

At least one Trump observer was escorted out of the building by sheriffā€™s deputies Saturday after pushing an election official who had lifted her coat from an observer chair. Another Trump observer was removed Friday for not wearing a face mask properly as required. :clap:Ā

Trump paid $3 million, as required by state law, for the partial recount that began Friday and must conclude by Dec. 1.

His team is seeking to disqualify ballots where election clerks filled in missing address information on the certification envelope where the ballot is inserted, even though the practice has long been accepted in Wisconsin.

The campaign also alleges thousands of absentee ballots donā€™t have proper written paperwork, and that some absentee voters improperly declared themselves ā€œindefinitely confined,ā€ a status that allows them to receive a ballot without photo ID. Those challenges were being rejected.

There have been at least 31 recounts in statewide elections in the U.S. since the most famous one in Floridaā€™s presidential election in 2000. The recounts changed the outcome of three races. All three were decided by hundreds of votes, not thousands.

The Founding Fathers always believed that the president could turn into a cunt. Thatā€™s why they created these checks and balances. They never imagined however that a party and therefore members of the Senate, among others, would continuously enable this cunt and in the process destroy the democracy.Ā

Almost no Trump voters consider Biden the legitimate 2020 election winner

*A mere 3% of voters for President Donald Trump think President-elect Joe Biden won the 2020 election, while 73% think the incumbent was the victor, according to a CNBC/Change Research poll.Ā

*As Trump repeatedly loses vote challenges in court as his lawyers fail to prove wrongdoing in the election count, two-thirds of his supporters think he should never concede to Biden.Ā

*The findings underscore the harm Trumpā€™s unsubstantiated claims have done to confidence in the U.S. electoral system.

Joe BidenĀ won the 2020 presidential election. Nearly every supporter of PresidentĀ Donald TrumpĀ thinks otherwise, according to a new CNBC/Change Research poll.

As the president makes unsubstantiated claims about electoral malfeasance and sows doubts about vote tallies, only 3% of Trump voters surveyed said they accept Bidenā€™s victory as legitimate, the survey released Monday found. A staggering 73% of respondents consider Trump the legitimate winner. Another 24% said they are not sure.

A mere 3% of Trump voters believe he should concede to Biden and start the peaceful transfer of power. Another 31% want the president to fight in courtĀ until states certify results. Two-thirds, or 66%, think Trump should never concede.

The findings will have little practical effect on the president-elect Bidenā€™s path to taking office on Jan. 20. He will win the White House with 306 electoral votes, according to NBC News, flipping the states of Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, Georgia and Arizona along the way. TheĀ Trump campaign has repeatedly lost in courtĀ as it fails to show irregularities affected the results, andĀ a hand count of votes in Georgia reaffirmed Bidenā€™s victory.

But the poll underscores the potentially bigger harm Trumpā€™s lies about the vote tallies have done to public faith in the electoral process. The president appears to have convinced many of his supporters he lost unfairly, even as state officials and judges have repeatedly shot down claims of fraud and wrongdoing.

More than 73 million people voted for Trump in the election. More than 79 million cast ballots for Biden.

The poll surveyed 1,203 people who voted for Trump in 2020 nationwide from Wednesday to Saturday. It has a margin of error of plus or minus 2.83 percentage points.

The vast majority of Trump voters ā€” 81% ā€” said they would not give Biden a chance as president. Only 19% said they would.

Even so, Trump supporters backed some of the policies the former vice president could pursue in the White House. Nearly all, or 91%, of respondents said they support proposals to require the federal government to buy products from American companies and make tax changes to encourage the rerouting of supply chains to the U.S.

Three-fourths back plans to expand rural health care options and broadband access, along with proposals to help small and mid-sized farms compete with large companies. Seven-in-10 said they back plans to create jobs by fixing infrastructure and investing in sustainable energy.

Two of Bidenā€™s economic plans were least popular among people who voted for the president. A mere 24% of Trump voters support hiking taxes on corporations and people who make more than $400,000 per year. Only 13% back raising the federal minimum wage to $15 an hour.

Loyalty to Trump runs deep among the respondents. Asked with whom they would identify if the president left the GOP, 72% responded Trumpā€™s party, while 28% answered the Republican Party.
