runa
I'm surprised nobody talks about it. This is absolutely tragic. At least 100 people dead (probably more) and thousands of wound... So many people missing. https://globalnews.ca/news/7251496/beirut-port-explosion-devastation-people-missing/ https://www.cnn.com/middleeast/live-news/lebanon-beirut-explosion-live-updates-dle-intl/index.html

Genevieve Vavance
the explosion looked so scary and it was huge, I think I've only seen them that big in Hiroshima (on TV I wasn't really there)
runa
They felt the explosion more than 200km away

XXL
Terrible And more than the explosion it's the type of ammunition and internationally outlawed powder they drop a bomb to set it off. Chemicals in the air that can last for years if not decades ... And Lebanon is virtually already bankrupt The explosive material had been apparently left there some ten years by a Moldovan cargo ship and nobody knew anything in ten years please Lebanon is a beautiful country with a rich history (on a superficial note the singer Mika is half Lebanese and many times recounted in interviews the horrors of his early 80s civil war childhood)

Jaz
So very sad. Words on the internet don't mean much, but it's all we can do when we are out of the situation... I'm so sorry for those affected by this horrible tragedy!
