Bank of England gold: Rare look inside the vaults

The Bank of England’s gold vaults hold £194bn worth of gold bars.

If you stacked them all on top of each other, they would be the same height as 46 Eiffel Towers.

They hardly ever let anyone in to film, but the BBC’s Frank Gardner has been given access to the Bank of England’s gold vault.

I'm going with yes. :fag:

Gold's a funny one 'cuz most people think it's this fabulous investment but it's not. $1 invested in gold in 1801 would be worth $54 in 2016 - you'd actually lose money because of inflation.

Meanwhile, $1 invested in the stock market in 1801 would be worth $16 million in 2016.

But, perception trumps truth in the current day.
