When you have absolutely no shame of your complete ignorance of basic history and you are full of xenophobia.

Saw that earlier. Rewriting history to suit his own racist agenda and playing to his English voter base who think they're being invaded by foreigners.

Nasty piece of shit with a clown mask on.

I wish cancel culture existed.

I wish these racists were cancelled.

Sadly they are always rich and powerful no matter what they say

He is extra terrifying because people just see him as a clown but his words are chilling, false and so damaging.  Far more dangerous than reported by his fans in the right wing media

Always interesting how the bumbling fool personae some of these politicians effect (or exaggerate) encourage some very strange people to imbue them with heart, as though one is the salt of the earth and affable only to the extent they'll behave like an idiot.

I watched an Australian documentary on Boris before he become PM. His callousness and manipulative nature was drilled home in detail by those who had worked with him and there was a lot of criticism too of how the media excused him. All mentioned that he was cunning in how he presented himself. He truly is like Teflon in how the dumb bumbling idiot act seems to be liked in spite of the indisputable evidence of how heartless and inept he is.

Yes, this is what his former boss said about him...

Eurgh. It's a sad day when you have to hope they're overzealous Wallace and Gromit loons awed by his "interesting" physiognomy rather than informed voters fully aware and indeed supportive of the vile policies at his crux, which is of course much more likely. No upside from me. No ancient wisdom to impart. Just more of the same old wistful, fatigued confusion. Frustrating.

@Jazzy Jan, remember that programme's title? I've had high opinions of Aussie documentaries before.

So the Tories latest attempt to see what corruption they can get away with by attempting to overhaul the standards system just to save one of their sleazy bribe-taking MPs might have backfired after a huge backlash. Hope he's right...

I don't know why I thought the word sleaze had a sexual meaning and meant something like "dirtymind".

Is it a synonym of sordid then?

The sexual connotation can be strong! Though I think it would've grown from certain kinds of sex having been seen as sordid rather than through truly old-school etymology.

Your English diction is soooo strong it's a bit wild the language ain't even your first (true of many members who may be reading this - hi), and your turns of phrase are masterful and hilarious. Like, how big WAS the biggest spud in Asia which was discovered by that Chinese lady? Fact fans wanna know.

Oh thank you!

If you only knew how much difficulty I have with understanding the spoken English in films :lmao: Sometimes I think they are speaking in Swedish.

Doesn't come across at all! Avoid anything set in America's Deep South at all costs. Not due to the incomprehensible accents but because the dark side of one too many potato dishes has never been more evident.

Pissed as a fart this morning AGAIN...

This is all over our tv this morning. Does the UK realize that Boris is a laughing stock around the world ?  This is not a speech that any leader would make. The world has really sunk to a new low when this idiot is a popular leader.

I don't give him long. Several reports in the press of the Tories concerned about him and the mail is very critical of him too now. Gove has gone quiet so wouldn't surprise me if there's a leadership challenge shortly.

And yes, we all know he's a laughing stock as we think the same!
