So proud of her and being a fan of hers. Palestine! Of all places. There couldn't have been a better destination for that medical equipment than that unjustly tortured and unsung land

Hopefully she donates to Italy! Italy must be saved. I read that it is expected that the peak would be the next week and then hopefully its downhill from there!

I really hope so. They keep saying that the measures undertaken so far should start bearing their fruits around the end of the month ... On Monday it'll have been two weeks of total lockdown

We will see I guess, maybe it's a behavioural paradigm of the virus, considering the contagion is gradually developing the same way in the rest of Europe and the world at large

@XXL what about today's article in newspaper La Reppublica about the football game between Valencia and Atalanta on 19th February that gathered 50.000 people from northern Italy and East Spain?????? They say the big explosion in cases came after that!

It is totally possible it contributed and impacted negatively, yes

If you ask me the overprivileged football business should have been stopped all over Europe much earlier on, but it took an extra ten days (compared to other entertainment areas) for the top football governing bodies to catch the drift, both at a national level and in terms of UEFA alike. Many people in Europe in general love the painfully overrated sport of football more than their safety and lives I guess

There was also a match in France around the same time, if I'm not mistaken ... Same issues

793 deaths in Italy today, omg that's grim.

I have to tune out somewhat - this is too much. 2A4EBmi.gif

It’s just human behaviors that we’re so accustomed to that’s hard for some of us to grasp—whether through denial or just ignorance—its (pardon the Madonna reference) human nature. Florida spring breakers partying like it’s 1999 spreads it further and take it back home thus spreading it further. Mardi Gras was still celebrated in New Orleans and now it’s a “hot spot” in Louisiana. One person can make a difference in containment or community spread. We are a Social species. This new reality we’re now forced into is difficult to control and reason with billions of people. Not to mention the incompetence and idiocy of some governments’ total lack of immediate action is making it worse, too.

I pray for all that we make it through this through kindness, understanding and empathy. Love is all we need.

Love to all. All to love. 🙏🏻💜🙏🏻

Italy just had their worst day yet, 793 deaths and 6,557 new cases in the last 24 hours. The death toll is up to 4,825, and the total number of cases is up to 53,578. Obviously the most alarming thing there is the mortality rate, it just hit 9%.

Making all of this worse, the pandemic has emboldened the Ayn Rand stans, whom are now crossing the line even further and parroting the same eugenics nonsense as Hitler. All over social media and Internet messageboards I am seeing more and more people say, “There is no reason to disrupt the economy over this, it is only useless old people that were going to die soon anyway dying!” and, “The only non-old people dying are people with health problems and conditions, so who cares? It will flush them out!” and in response to rich people obviously having an instantly higher chance of survival when it comes to issues of access to healthcare in the US, “Let the poor people die, they are not important to the economy anyway!”.

I haven't posted (properly) on the forum for weeks (even months) due to personal issues, but this whole thing is terrifying.

Not only am I worried sick about leaving the house to try and get some basic food supplies (that may not even be on the shelves), but i'm also terrified because people with Asthma suffer a higher risk of complications if they catch it.

Thankfully, I bought my little dog her usual sack of food three weeks ago, so it'll be enough to last her for the next 5 -6 months, but this whole thing is like something from a horror movie.

Anyway, stay safe everyone, and try to stay calm and don't panic.

Stay safe yourself. We’re all in a state of fear & anxiety. Take care of yourself and each other. 🙏🏻

Felt very very horribly sad, incredibly sad, cried several times. The whole situation is overwhelming. Some day I can handle it, others I just find it too much.

Have not been going out at all since early in the week.

I think about my dear beloved ones in Italy, I think about all of the people who are dying alone in Italy once they are in ICU because they cannot possibly have any external contact with them for obvious reasons......... and also cannot help but thinking about those assholes who boast about panic-buying/over-buying and just feeling "a little bit guilty" about that (my ass) when there are doctors, nurses, elderly, invalids, who find themselves at supermarkets with completely empty shelves thanks to selfish bastards hoarding assholes, like my despicable selfish coworkers, whom have no-one close to them directly affected yet (unlike me) hence at the moment their little brain is unable to grasp the gravity of the situation. Until it will hit them in the face.

Speaking of that, I think about how the situation is about to unfold in the UK... I am scared.

It appears that the virus is now mutating into a more aggressive form, hence a slight raise in cases affecting younger individuals, in addition to what apparently has been reported that another symptom is loss of sense of smell and taste.

Wishing every single one of you all good health, to be safe, to stay safe, and see the light at the end of this pandemic shit.

Someone somewhere is benefiting from all of this shit affecting us all in every possible terms, health, economics, etc.
