It's not about everyone being wiped out because of the virus, it's about trying to control the steadiness at which people get sick , so that the health system doesn't get overwhelmed and collapses. If that happens we're pretty much all on our own, and it's natural selection from then on.

Which put into consideration our capacity for empathy. Most personal problems we endure nowadays are because of the lack of empathy in our society. And this crisis is proving how important empathy is.

“British people who decide that they still need to travel abroad should be fully aware of the increased risks of doing so. That includes the risk that they may not be able to get home, if travel restrictions are put in place. Anyone still considering travel to be realistic about the level of disruption they are willing and able to endure, and to make decisions in light of the unprecedented conditions we face.”

The FCO is not advising UK nationals to immediately return to the UK, but says that people should “keep in mind that flights may be cancelled at short notice or other travel restrictions may be put in place by foreign governments” and “take account of the fast moving situation and plan accordingly, while flights remain available in many places”.

What the UK was doing was literally fucking disgusting. Straight out of the usual America playbook. Advising all these businesses to close and people to stay home, making business revenue plummet, but they’re not making it mandatory so that business owners couldn’t claim anything on insurance and keep themselves a float. Between that and putting Boris Johnson in power in the first place and it does literally look like the UK wants to be America. Grim.

The Queen of Denmark is going to address the public in a televised speech tonight 😲

Apart from the annual New Year Speech, no Danish monarch has addressed the public directly since World War II ...

I love how it was Georgina, Venezuelan singer that lives here in Spain, who got that ball rolling last week and others liked the idea and started organizing similar streaming events.
