Texas Couple Allegedly Cooking Meth in Walmart Parking Lot Arrested: Police
By Jason Murdock   On 1/23/19 at 5:45 AM EST

Two suspects were arrested in Texas yesterday after police inspected a suspicious vehicle at a Walmart parking lot and found them allegedly cooking drugs.

Robert Robles Jr., 34, and September Alvarez, 22, were detained after cops responded to the scene at roughly 3 a.m. Tuesday, News 4 San Antonio reported, citing a police report.

It later emerged that Robles Jr. had provided a fake name to deputies. He had been named in a warrant for a probation violation in the state of California. During a search of the couple's car, officers from Converse Police Department said they discovered a stash of illicit materials.

This included five handguns, meth, drug paraphernalia, 50 caliber rounds, shotgun shells and stolen IDs. One of the firearms, reportedly a semi-automatic, had been reported stolen.

According to KTSA, a radio station in San Antonio, Texas, officers initially suspected the pair of cooking meth because of the odor coming from the vehicle. The news outlet reported a hidden compartment in the car's dashboard appeared to be used to cook the drug.

"They had either just began to prepare the methamphetamine for injection or had just done just that," Converse PD Lt. Jeff Shook commented, KSAT-TV (ABC) reported in an on-air news segment. Images obtained by the station showed the covert area covered with tin foil.

"There was a half of a soda can in there," Shook explained. "It appeared as if they were actually cooking their methamphetamine in that compartment." In brief statements after their arrest, while being transported by the cops, the pair appeared to deny charges against them.

"We were parked at Walmart just chilling, talking," Alvarez told KSAT-TV. Robles Jr. added: "There was no sign that said no parking." The suspects were charged with "possession of a controlled substance, theft of a firearm, unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, unlawfully carrying a weapon and unlawful possession of identifying information," KTSA reported.

Robles Jr. was individually facing a separate charge of being a fugitive and failing to identify himself to the police officers.

Earlier this year in Texas, a woman was banned from a Walmart store after she allegedly spent hours drinking wine from a Pringles can while riding about in an electric shopping cart. Cops were called about 9 a.m. Witnesses said the woman had been at the location since 6:30 a.m.

If you think cooking meth outside Walmart is shocking, this bitch cooking meth in walmart!

Tulsa police arrest a woman for mixing chemicals to make meth inside a south Tulsa Walmart on Thursday.

Elizabeth Alisha Greta Halfmoon, 45, also known to go by Alisha Halfmoon, was arrested for endeavoring to manufacture meth at the 81st and Lewis store.

Police say surveillance video shows Halfmoon had been in the store since noon. Six hours later security noticed she was acting suspicious, so they called Tulsa police.

Responding officers say she claimed she was "too broke to buy the chemicals."

"She didn't have the money to make the purchases of the chemicals that were needed so she was taking what was needed in the bottle," says Officer David Shelby.

Shoppers inside the store had no idea someone was cooking meth.

"This is a family store," says Jessica Fuentes, who also had her 1-year-old son inside the store. "People need to start thinking. If she has family she needs to think about her family. If you are broke. It's just wrong."

"When I saw her she had just finished mixing sulfuric acid with starter fluid in a bottle," says Officer Shelby. They immediately got her, and the ingredients, out of the store before any of the shoppers got hurt.

No one was evacuated.

"Something could have happened, something could have blown up in there," says shopper Jonathan Tary.

"When firefighters were on the scene she made statements to them that is what she was doing, she was attempting to obtain these chemicals and was in the process of trying to manufacture meth. However, she said she was not very good at it," says Shelby. A responding officer didn't know the bottle was active. As he was discarding the bottle the chemicals burned through the bottle and through his gloves. He was treated for chemical burns on his hands and is okay. Police say they arrested Halfmoon just last month in a smurf sting.

Smurfs are known among police as meth cooks or recruits who purchase pseudoephedrine to make meth. The medication is often found in cold and allergy medicines and is the main ingredient needed to make meth.

Jail records show she was booked on November 6 and released from jail on those charges on December 6. Records show she received a deferred sentence and bonded out on $7,500. In this case her bond has been set at $100,000 and her arraignment is set for December 16th. In October, Glenn Reese was arrested at that same Walmart with a backpack containing what police called an active meth lab. Drainage ditches and tunnels in that area have been a common place for meth making and using, according to Tulsa police.

And “El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie” premiered on NETFLIX today. It was pretty good. BrBa was THE best series on TV. IMHO.

I did not like it. Breaking Bad was phenomenal, recently re-watched it all, still beyond amazing - writing, editing, acting, music, cinematography, humor. It was perfection. Now on re-watching Better Call Saul, very much a masterpiece in its own right.

Yeah. They never explained Todd’s sudden weight gain and bloating within a few days. Joe (the magnet guy) looked liked he hadn’t slept since the show actually ended. Badger & Skinny Pete looked older too. Jesse kinda passed but there were some good parts I did enjoy. It was rushed and done on the fly. But I did like some of the closure for Jesse.

I also re-watched BrBa & BCS (up to end of Season 3) again, too. Season 4 isn’t on Netflix yet.
