Apple Music Lists Most-Streamed Female Artists of All Time

Recommended Posts

To commemorate International Women’s Day, Apple Music has curated a playlist of the top-streamed female artists through their platform of all time. Additionally, the song-identifier app Shazam has released their list of the most “Shazam’d” artists of last year.

The lists reveal that the most streamed female artist of all time is Ariana Grande, with Cardi B holding the title of the most Shazam’d. The two lists naturally contain a lot of crossover between them, and perhaps even more unsurprisingly, consist entirely of pop artists.

Apple Music will continue the trend of female-centric playlists throughout the month of March with their “Visionary Women” series.

Listen to the “Top Women In Streaming” playlist through Apple Music here, and see the full list of ladies dominating the streaming scene below.

I'm not into all these overproduced female pop and hip hop artists.

Of course there are always some great songs to be found in the mainstream banality.

How is Moo on that list but Madonna isn't? Also assume the list is US based.

Of course newer acts would be in the top 20;  Mimi Carey's "All I Want For Christmas.." ensures her decent placement.

In their defense, most-STREAMED artist kinda suggests that we're talking about a rather short time span long after Madonna's peak - even Spotify wasn't really a thing before 2012(?).

Still meh that she's not included...

Yes her team needs to make sure Madonna's music is easily accessed on different platforms.

No excuse for so many people not to know when her new music is out.

"All I Want for Christmas is You". Only one song but skyrockets to the top every year. You can be sure if you take that song out she'd be like #427.

What's all this streaming shit,   I want to buy my CD,  12" and LP.

I've never streamed a song in my life i'm not 18 🙂,   you may say that this is why she doesn't chart.

But the reality is her fan base are not young adults or kids.

I can see why Madonna isn’t on there her back catalogue on streaming sites is appalling, no single versions. The only singles available are from hung up onwards.

If you make the Shazam list does that mean people genereally don't know who you are?

Yikes  I was expecting at least top 5 for Katy 😞 I miss her. WHEN the hell is Rihanna coming out w/ new music already? I want her to put Mariah away already or at least cum thisclose. She's 31 now not 23 or the new thing so better get ON it asap!

One hit from the past can make the top twenty just shows what a joke these women's careers are.

Selena Gomez, Halsey and Demi Lovato etc 😂 like they have a hit that your average person could name.

The industry is dead.
