I’ll bet! Carry on. 💨

It's just another non issue they engender to distract everyone from the real problems at hand. They do it every time; for the last election it was undocumented Mexican immigrants. Who honestly cares?

The way I see it, the two elephants in the room are climate change, and the obscenely wealthy continuing to fuck over the middle and lower classes through healthcare, education, and jobs. If I could waive a magic wand every American would vote with this top of mind.

Yes. It’s distract, divide, & dumbed-down. . That’s how “they” roll. They want us poor, stupid and sick. That’s how the corporate profits roll. And the politicians are with those who have the cash. They only care about their constituents during an election. Then it’s back to serving the corporate machine.

I think we need to start making bets on Hillary running again! I think it’s happening. She’s quietly getting into the picture.

Um...I'm very tempted to think so too (she's getting MAJOR praise/buzz from the Howard Stern interview even from haters). Hands down her.best.interview.*ever. Like a completely different person the GP has ever seen. BUT w/ Michael Bloomberg in less sure now. He is NOT f'king around esp. w/ ads. Every 5 min. on every station (from major prime-time to old syndicated reruns I'm seeing his ads)! Plus, she's already missed several deadlines. Unless (like Bloomberg's team) they're seeing internal #s that show a brokered convention. More/more I'm feeling thats a REAL possibility and a possible disaster brewing here ESP.  w/ Bernie likely pulling the same shit as 2016 yet 10x worse 😕  As of now could go Pete (IA) Bernie (NH, CA where he's leading now!), Biden (SC, NV then sweeps the south), So...yeah not feeling good about 'where' this could be heading.

And Hillary had dinner with Bloomberg a few days ago.  Strange. Wonder what’s up. 🤔

Lots of corporate money. Never trust a billionaire as a politician. Clinton loves anyone with lots of money.

She is only running, like Bloomberg, to feed her own vanity. She did get more popular votes, but with GOP gerrymandered congressional districts, she lost to the GOP-controlled and terribly obsolete Electoral College. Because she arrogantly thought she was going to win, she neglected to campaign in those states, like Michigan & others and ended up losing those states to drumpf. The DNC didn’t help matters my ramming HRC through the primaries, ignoring the guy who was getting more crowds than HRC and drumpf: Bernie Sanders. He was not such a polarizing figure who couldn’t even fill a high school gym with her rallies and Bernie’s rallies had people lined up around a stadium. But the DNC didn’t want Bernie. They wanted their darling corporate candidate who has two scripts: one for her corporate donors and one for the voters. She needs to spend time with her family and her new grandchild. Like creepy Joe Biden who, like drump likes to grope  women and girls. He is creepy Joe!

I'm sorry but I'd support Hillary in a second even now. There's so much hate and disinformation about her and even her "allies" believe it all. Sad really.

Never has anyone more qualified run for office. Idc what anyone says, if she were a man she would absolutely NOT get the hate she gets. I'm all for Mayor Pete at this point and even if Hillary ran, I'd still be for him but if she ended up being the nominee I'd happily support her with enthusiasm.....unlike Biden who I will definitely support but not with much enthusiasm. People really need to watch her interview with Howard Stern. Spoiler alert: she's actually a human being!! :wow: And a very smart one!!

I highly recommend watching. Not that it matters, those with preconceived notions won't watch and will continue to think what they will....it is what it is.....but I'll always have massive respect for this woman that has literally dedicated her entire life to public service. It's like some Dems are still waiting for this magical, perfect candidate with no history or past to fall from the clouds like an angel from God or something. These people are humans, ALL of them are going to have some form of baggage or another.  Ok.....begin with the "Hillary is an evil bitch" rhetoric....I'm done now...lol.

This interview was so much fun to watch! I agree that because she is a woman she gets this much hate. It’s a sad fact. I’d vote for her. Though i think it’s becoming too late.🤷🏻‍♂️

I would like to go: "Oh my god, i didn't see that coming...how unexpected" but everybody with a brain saw that coming from miles away.

At this point there isn't much left to cross out on the "What will Trump as president do" list.

Most of it is done already, screwing with veterans, hurting kids, help discriminating against the lgbt community, raising the deficit, going golfing for most of his presidency and so on.

Trying to start a war is one of the few things left on the list.

It was always the option, i mean most expected it to happen once his approval numbers are way down...very few expected it to happen while impeachment is going on...but most people knew it would happen either way.

Pete FTW! I’ve always been team Pete. Not only is he the best looking ( 😉) but he seems the most inspiring. Reminds me a lot of JFK. so happy he has won Iowa and now hopefully others will see he is a real hope to get rid of trump.
but apparently the blacks won’t vote for him. Why? 🤷‍♂️

I really like Pete too. For now, he's my choice. Idk if it even matters anymore in the age we live in but I have no doubt he would slaughter Trump in a debate. Up until about 6-7 months ago, I kinda just brushed him under the rug and figured he'd be gone soon. A gay, 30 something?? haha yeah right! But to my shock and delight his momentum has skyrocketed quickly. Even if his success in Iowa is as big as it's gonna get for him for 2020, I do think he has a bright future. The guy is smart and so well spoken.

Idk why he has a hard time connecting with the black community. I'm hoping it's just that they're not really familiar with him yet.

It's such a mess the Democratic party! Trump is winning the 2020 elections! I would bet the house atm.

I think it will actually take a major economic calamity for Trump to lose, and I say this as someone who thinks he's the worst person to sit in the Oval Office in my lifetime. Democrats are very fractured, and to date, I don't see an "Obama coalition"-style candidate among the current crowd.

I hope so too. Maybe a lot of people are still hooked on Biden just because he's associated with Obama (although clearly not in Iowa!), so maybe once there is a clear candidate that's not Biden, everyone will get behind them. I don't much about US primaries - do they get the same kind of turn-out as the election proper? Or do a lot of people not really care about primaries and just wait til November?

(PS: if some one can actually explain how these 'caucuses' work???)

Are Americans ready for a gay president? :1251:

Unfortunately no. Maybe 10 years ago. But now with the meteoric rise of conservatism and the massive influence of religious extremists, no chance. Moreover, the vote of African Americans and Latino Americans is crucial in this election. Generally, they are more conservative electorates on the issue of homosexuality. They will probably abstain from voting if Buttigieg is the Democratic candidate which will ensure Trump's victory (a victory which is unfortunately almost already guaranteed anyway).

No Democratic candidate is strong enough anyway to beat Trump: Bidden is too old, Sanders is too old and too progressive, Warren is also too progressive. They will all lose a different essential electorate in the election.

I don't know how I'm going to endure hearing about this piece of shit for another 4 years. :zombie:

The problem for Pete is that he has no momentum outside of Iowa. He spent most of his campaign funds on building groundwork in the state, but his victory is only a percent higher than Sanders, who is actually dominating most of the upcoming states. Pete's only real path forward is siphoning off support from Biden and Klobuchar as they crash and burn, especially Biden.

Pete has done A LOT in a little bit of time though. At this time last year....or even 6-7 months ago, barely anyone knew who he was. The fact that he's even still in this race, much less number 1-2 in IA caucuses is actually pretty extraordinary for him. Bernie, Biden or Warren should've had IA in the bag based on name recognition alone and even if Bernie does squeak ahead to number one, it's still awfully close when you consider everything. I actually find it quite shocking Biden isn't number one or two.

I do agree though that having a gay nominee is a huge risk.....then again, so is having "creepy Biden", with all of the scandal surrounding his son at the moment and "socialist" Bernie. It's just not looking good for Dems for 2020 overall BUT....as we saw in 2016, ANYTHING can happen. 10 months is a long time in politics!
