2020 U.S. Election

Surely he has no case. And the Republicans have won enough battles (the Senate, the Supreme Court), so they're sorted for the foreseeable anyway. If Trump loses, he'll be a liability. The GOP can and will turn its back. No need to run their party's reputation further into the ground to humour the lunacy of a megalomaniac; he'd be dispensable at that point.

Just concerned what the rabid St. Bernards (minus the decorum) we call his base might do.

So there’s no chance of Dumpster to win right?

Technically Arizona and Nevada can still flip to Trump but its a small chance.  Arizona we will know at 9pm central time apparently.

From jail?

His lawyers have already been looking into whether he can pardon himself before he leaves office.

Really hope not. For now I’m more than happy.

Most likely they will get him a deal and he will step down after that

The odds are very good that Biden cleans the table with the remaining outstanding vote (aside from North Carolina and possibly Georgia - although the trend lines look good).

I am happy with that victory but it has come at a terrible cost, and the fact that Trump got millions of more votes over 2016 just shows you that 60 million American are completely ok with the last 4 years. This is no longer a minority party in the sense that close to half the voting public would probably support an authoritarian regime even if it was the Fourth Reich.

This isn't going away. These people are furious and violent (not all 60 million, mind you), but enough of them to cause chaos in the future. America has a very long way to go, and it's like to result in a further weakening of the Union.
