Tales from Spain. Socialists win elections but far right extremists arrive

Among the rising of xenophobic and fascist movement in Europe such as France, Germany, Italy Austria, Hungary, UK, or Netherlands and Sweden, now Spain has a very powerful new party rising. Yesterday the won 12 seats in Andalucía. This is really only the beginning.

This is a counter effect of the loss of services because of the crisis, the corruption from traditional parties and especially the hate spread with the Catalonia issue.

Sad and dangerous times ahead. I hope the leftist Catalan parties stop being stupid and keep supporting our progressive left government or we'll have general election in May and we'll see...

Horrible. My hope was that Spain (and Portugal) was the last sane place in Europe. Its so sad to see it follows suit with all the other European nations :(. Europes political landscape is getting more depressing with each passing year. Its like madness.

Sadly there's a lot of racist, mysogynist, homophobic and intolerant people EVERYWHERE. And the second they get some parcel and some media to spread their message, more people gather because they secretly were thinking the same.

You just have to read some newspaper's online comments by readers, insulting women, gays, black people... It happens everywhere. And nowadays it is incredibly virulent for one reason: for the first time in human history, those people are losing power and minorities are gaining power. Gays, Women, Immigrants, Handicapped people, they are listened to their needs. So they lose power and that's why they fight back more virulently than ever.

The sad thing is that now those people have in Andalucia 12 seats. That means they will speak loudly about horrible things and stupid meda will replicate their message and netx May, when we have regional elections in the rest of Spain, there will be another earthquake and they will be in all 17 regional parliaments. And if we also have general eletcion that day, the same.

And beware, because on May we have the European Parliament elections and that means that now Spain will send far right MPs there too!

Snowfall effect, indeed.

emigration.unemployement.the feelin that all the taxes only help the emigrants.spanish nationalism.catalonia wanting to get out of spain. socialist party´s corruption.

Catalonia has played a big part because whenever there were demonstrations against Catalonia's independence, these people gatherer hundreds and afterwards thousands of people there. And media, instead of pointing out that they were fascist, simply covered the information as "citizens against the independence" when that was not the case.

The pain that those irresponsible Catalan politicians has brought to Spain, along the irresponsible politicians and press from the Spanish side, is getting bigger and bigger. I don't agree that some of them are in prison because I think it is against any human right, but on the other hand that is the only punishment they will get. Because after all the lies spred in CAtalonia that made Catalan people hate Spanish and now Spanish people becoming intolerant... They deserve some punishment, only I don't know what!

In andalucia a lot of people have decided not to vote. Psoe´s corruption has made a lot of damage to the people. The problem with the Eres has been huge, even bigger than the one that the PP has had.I don´t understatimate any of the things that we have mentioned before, but I think the politicians and the journalists are forgetting about the shit the biggest political party of that zone has had

Just wait. Seeing what Guaidó did in Venezuela, they may even declare themselves president of Spain :rotfl:

They are shit, to be quite honest. But sadly in this new era of churning people deepest demons, they are going to sweep next election. Why have people suddenly become SO STUPID?

Spain did not need a far right party up to now because the old francoist and the nostalgist were part of the PP, corruption, religion, Gibraltar. Every year there is a large group of people walking to valle de los caidos, wen the pope came to Madrid the worst of Spain came out

Yeah normally all fascists belonged to conservative parties, like the xenophobic and supremacist Tories in the UK. You only need some scaremongering and shit stirring by official news outlets and you get racist and snobs parading the streets asking to stop immigration and such.

Thank God most people in Spain aren't like that.

and I really believe that not all the right winged people are like this.anyways, the only solution, is the independence: there was a project, in the 18th century, to create a country called New Fenicia, that was the basque country (complete), aragon and catalonia. I see it happening!

The solution imo is to face corruption, impoverishment of middle classes and the lack of principles in governments, instead of being polarised all the time. I'm sick and tired of absurdities coming from left, right or nationalism while people live worse than 10 years ago. I am sure it can apply to other countries too.

absolutely right. If u are not facing the problem, but just creating another country out of Spain (why???), you are taking the problem with you. In reality, things would probably become even worse

They keep population entertained so there's not uproar at their lack of morals and their unending greed.

So even with all conservative media support and spending money with buses bringing people, right and extreme right couldn't even gather 150.000 people today in Madrid in that demonstration against the Government :rotfl: What a gaga-sized FLOP!

Yesterday in Berlin, Puigdemont unexpectedly appeared to give the award to a Netflix documentary about Catalonia. The filmmakers, who were against taking sides, have given the award back and are very angry with the German organisation, for they feel tricked.

But the most important part:  the artist Anna Maria Kaufmann sang  "Don't cry for me CATALONIA", a new version of the classic :rotfl: I just CAN'T!!!!

It's some kind of side gala created by some Foundation called Cinema for Peace. They really made a big faux pas there, as the filmmakers had asked several times that they didn't want any link with any politician from any side. And boom! there goes Puigdemont and gives A SPEECH and the opera singer sing Don't Cry For Me Catalonia :lmao:

So general election took place yesterday and thank god Socialists won after 11 years. Corrupted People Party got the biggest flop in their history!!!!!

Sadly far right extremists against immigration and ANTIFEMINISM (can you believe it?) particularly against the Catalonia situation have rise and now will be part of the chamber! Thank God they got half the seats that they expected.

I find so sad that right extremists are rising so much across the EU! I thought that Spain, after the horrible dictatorship was vaccinated but no.

It's so sad to see another country where the far-right enters parliament again. Especially in a country that has known the horrific consequences of the extreme far right for so many decades.

My consolation is that those extremists were simply camouflaged in the People's Party. For almost 40 years the right wing of the politics in Spain was this big party that united extremists, right wing and moderate wings. Now that has broken into three parties. I doubt there are more extremists now than there were like 20 years ago. The Left is divided into two parties now too and one of them is what they call a "populist lefist" and that doesn't mean that more people in Spain are now "left extremists", they were simply in the Socialist party before.

The thing is that those right extremists were "out there to fight the leftists" and in the end what they did was breaking up the right and leading the left to the victory :rotfl:

Oh, and this new right populists created a logo to "fight the LGTB who try to convert our children" and is so cute that we, Spanish gays, have adopted it with open arms :lmao: We call it "Gaysper"
