The Cranberries to Release Final Album With Dolores O'Riordan & Reissue Debut

The late Dolores O’Riordan recorded tracks for one final album with The Cranberries before her death, and now the new material will see the light of day “early next year,” according to the band. Three days before her death, O’Riordan spoke with guitarist Noel Hogan about their upcoming studio album, an album that would have been The Cranberries’ first in six years, and emailed him a number of new tracks. The band revealed in a statement Wednesday (March 7) that a new album had been in the works since last year, with vocals already recorded by O’Riordan.

In addition, with the 25th anniversary of their debut album Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can’t We? on the horizon, The Cranberries have announced the release of a commemorative version of the album, featuring newly remastered tracks and unreleased material. The anniversary project, which was initially shelved after O’Riordan’s passing, is slated for release later this yea

Cranberries's 1st album "No Need To Argue" LP had been reissued multiple times since 2017 in different colors e.g. grey, green, plum, clear & pink etc.

The latest white color will be released on 4 May 2018.

I'm tempted to get one BUT the reviews hold me back. According to those who had bought it, they complained the sound was awful. It was transferred from mp3 to vinyl and the label "Plain" did nothing about it even though many fans had complained about it (including the black LP).

Does anyone own a copy? @Je5u5 @karbatal ? how's the sound quality? I'm a little hesitate ever since the bad experience from COADF pink LP.

Not really but I'm not surprised. Sadly most labels nowadays just don't care about how it sounds. Have you tried playing Wash All Over Me from the LP?

I remember there's no black Friday release from cranberries.

Amazon is selling EEIDISWCW LP at 16.94 (Currently out of stock and will be in stock on 13 December).

PS: I think there was a discount at $14.99 back then but please dun quote me.

I bought it during black friday (fnac had 3x2 on vinyls), but it's not a Record Store Day release or anything like that, although I do believe there was a limited colored printing at some point.  As far as I know mine is black (have not played it yet).

I meant if the coloured No Need to Argue (or black for that matter) is being sold anywhere for a normal price as I haven't seen it.

[Janet]Edit:[/Janet]

Just noticed the blue one is listed in Amazon. It wasn't back when this was originally posted.

But it's pressed by Wholesale Vinyl instead of their usual label. What's up with that?

Ok I found it.
It's actually clear and pink LP, not blue.

Amazon UK:
Number of Discs: 1
Format: Limited Edition
Label: Wholesale Vinyl
ASIN: B079ZSFH5R
Price: £57.00
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Need-Argue-Clear-Pink-VINYL/dp/B079ZSFH5R/ref=sr_1_1?s=music&ie=UTF8&qid=1544120556&sr=1-1&keywords=cranberries+no+need+to+argue+vinyl

Amazon US:
Number of Discs: 1
Format: Limited Edition
Label: Plain
ASIN: B079ZSFH5R
Price: $31.60
https://www.amazon.com/Need-Argue-Limited-Clear-Vinyl/dp/B079ZSFH5R/ref=sr_1_1?s=music&ie=UTF8&qid=1544120632&sr=1-1&keywords=B079ZSFH5R

Observed the ASIN code (Amazon Standard Identification Number) are the same, in other words, it's the same item. There must be some mistake on Amazon UK page.

And I happened to bought it during Black Friday RSD. The jacket has indicated "Plain Recording" whereas the sticker stated "PLA 2027". There's also "In memory of Dolores O'Riordan".

Something interesting to share:

PLA 2029 - Dark Blue
PLA 2028 - Translucent Blue
PLA 2027 - Clear & Pink
PLA 2026 - Gold
PLA 2025 - Purple
PLA 2024 - Green
PLA 2023 - Turquoise
PLA 2022 - Plum
PLA 2021 - Cranberry Red
PLA 2020 - White

There's also a light blue, red, orange & pink but are not listed in Discogs. There's also some duplicates in discogs e.g. both dark blue was listed 3 times whereas clear pink were listed twice.

The label code (on the sticker) are very messy too. For an instance, cranberry red (PLA 2021) was released in 2016 but recently, Plain recording released white lp (2018) with the label code (PLA 2020)  Maybe it supposed to be (PLA 2030) instead?! :dazed:

The same album re-released for 13th times in 3 years and yet you bitches whining about ROL being re-released 3 times in 3 years.

But why is this under Plain Recording? Isn't all their stuff under Island/Universal?

---

Just checked. Looks like it's an indie label that licenses loads of 90s / 00s alt kind of stuff for vinyl re-release.

Just opened my copy today and the LP plays ok.

No skipping nothing... well maybe I followed the record store owner's advice: Clean the LP before play.
