Can you believe that it's been almost 3 years since Rebel Heart?

Dem great lyrics were served big time too.

:dramatic:

"I could get caught up in bitterness.

But I'm not dwelling on this crazy mess

I found freedom in the ugly truth.

I deserve the best, and it's not you.

You've broken my heart, but you can't break me down.

Not falling apart. Once was lost, now I'm found.

Picked up my crown, put it back on my head. I can forgive, but I will never forget"

:dramatic:

"Let's cross the line, so far we won't come back

get rid of your mind, I shouldn't have to ask

cynical smile, time to take off your mask

I'm on your side, so let me love you, let me love you

let me love you from the inside out"

:dramatic:

"I'll be the bride that is married to life, you are the day, I am the night

leave you a blanket of silver and gold, I'll keep you warm, do as I'm told

I need your strength, it will keep me from harm,

I'd be your queen, safe in your arms

don't wanna get to the end of my days, saying I wasn't amazed"

:dramatic:

"Tell me how we got this far, every man for himself

everything's gone to hell, we gotta stay strong, we gotta hold on

This world has turned to dust, all we've got left is love

might as well start with us, singing a new song, something to build on"

:dramatic:

"Surrender to the pleasure (wanting)

when we breath in together (waiting)

It's either now or never (for you), this feeling will take over

No sex tapes, no cameras (wanting)

just you and me together (waiting)

repeat it like a mantra (for you)

I'm in love, I'm in love..."

Sales, airplay and all that stuff aside....this was the most well rounded era she's had since Erotica IMO. I like my Madonna with lots of spunk and sass and she had it for RH era. Album is one of her best. I listened to it recently after having not for a while and it sounds just as fresh, if not better now than a few years ago. A lot of the topics she deals with are more relevant now with the current state of the world. I appreciate her openness in interviews during this era, they were some of the best of her career easily! I don't think she's promoted an album as much since her first album....seriously, she was EVERYWHERE and I don't remember even COADF or ROL being so loaded with promo. Love how she explored both her "rebel" and "heart" side with the promo and tour performances.

Still listening to remixes of LFL, Ghost town, BIM and Inside Out in 2017. I desperately need a club mix of Iconic.

I had a phase last month where I really loved Body Shop, not sure why this little ditty gets hate.

It seems way longer than 3 years to me....spoiled from back in the day when many artists would release an album a year...sometimes 2 a year (1987 - WTG / YCD,  1990 - IB / TIC)

It’s just been to quiet.......

No i think ROL and COAD are easily her most promoted albums. RH got a lot of promo compared to HC and MDNA but it was all within a two month period. ROL as we we all know was consistently promoted from the release of Frozen in January 1998 until the Grammys in Feb 1999.

Agreed she went out and promoted ROL like she was a brand new artist, she took that album everywhere.
