I didn't listen to a lot of new music in 2017. I've spent most of my time rediscovering the 70's and early 80's. Thus, I didn't come across many albums that I liked from start to finish. The ones below are my favorites:

"Cigarettes After Sex" - Cigarettes After Sex

"Home Counties" - Saint Etienne

"Masseduction" - St Vincent

"Sky Trails" - David Crosby

"Silver Eye" - Goldfrapp

Honorable Mention: Hitchhiker - Neil Young (released in 2017 but actually recorded in 1976)

Still worth mentioning:

"The Other", Alison Moyet

"Harry Styles", Harry Styles

Hey if you haven’t already, you might want to listen to some of their previous albums or watch some of their older videos. They’re a pretty interesting band with a very diverse discography.

Like 2016 another garbage year with garbage music. What a low bar time. Reeally bad releases this year! lol  Only full album I can think of that did shit for me was Kesha Rainbow. Katy was pretty weak yet compared to almost everything else pooped out, she showed up pretty strong lol. The world is in dire need of a Beatles, Madonna, Nirvana like 'shake up' pop culturally asap!

I don't see Taylor Swift on any list. I thought it was " Album of the century" according to some people around here. :provoke:

It’s been a strange year for music...

Tori Amos -Native Invader: Welcome back, Tori. While I enjoyed Unrepentant Geraldine’s, I absolutely loved NI. Such a return to form. It’s like Scarlets Walk older sister and the best post Trump collection of music that addresses the current political and cultural wreak we’re in right now.

Katy Perry - Witness: THE pop album that truly mattered this year. It’s absolutely tragic this album didn’t get the respect and appreciation it deserved. This is a pop artist who knows how to craft a hook and melody with visuals to match. Oh, and Swish, Swish should’ve been an anthem for 2017.

Ralph -EP: If early 80’s synth pop and early 90’s r&b merged together and you threw in the perfect pitch of Olivia Newton-Johns voice, you’d have Ralph. I couldn’t get enough of this EP. Melodic, fun, and breezy. My only complaint is that it wasn’t longer. Really hoping for more from her in 2018.

Those three albums ruled the roost for me in 2017. Here’s a few honerable mentions:

Lana Del Ray - Lust for Life

Julia Michaels - Nervous System

Lorde - Melodrama

Samantha Urbani - Policies Of Power EP

Poppy - Poppy.Computer

I'm with you, Jaron!  Although I did download a few songs, nothing seemed to be worth the total package.  Today's music has gotten rather boring (minus a FEW exceptions).
