Sterling plummets from £1.32 in June 2016 to £1.06 against the Euro today. Looks like parity long before October 31 No Deal. On the other side of No Deal where will Sterling be? And what turmoil awaits the London Stock Market?

No photo description available.

I predict a recession but of course it wont be declared til after 'Brexit then the blame will be put - wrongly onto EU as has been attempted for the past 3 years

OMG!

Time to buy that expensive tea set from Amazon UK which I had eyed for a long time! :rosey:

Just playing to her audience, although I'm sure Carol and Brian from Grimsby will be raging when they find out their Yorkshire Tea ain't actually grown in Yorkshire!

OMG.This catch phrase so describes the world we are living in. Unfortunately it's so true :(.

A US-UK trade deal will not get through Congress if Brexit undermines the Good Friday Agreement, the Speaker of the US House of Representatives has said.

Democrat Nancy Pelosi, whose party controls the House, said the UK's exit from the EU could not be allowed to endanger the Northern Irish peace deal.

Her comments came after the US national security adviser said the UK would be "first in line" for a trade deal.

Philip Hammond, until recently Chancellor of the Exchequer "leaving the EU without a deal would be just as much a betrayal of the referendum result as not leaving at all"

He has accused Boris Johnson of shutting down any hope of securing an agreement. But the prime minister’s team continues to argue that Britain must leave the EU by 31 October.

The new government took office three weeks ago, I and many of my like-minded colleagues have chosen to keep quiet and give the prime minister the time and space to set out his plan to deliver a Brexit deal. But now it is time to reiterate our support for Boris Johnson to deliver on his public and private commitments towards a deal and his assurance that no-deal is a “million-to-one” chance.

The early signals are not encouraging. The move from demanding changes to the backstop to demanding its total removal is a pivot from a tough negotiating stance to a wrecking one

Boris Johnson has accused former chancellor Philip Hammond of undermining the government’s strategy with a “terrible collaboration” with the EU to thwart the UK’s departure from the bloc.

During the first “People’s PMQs” — a Facebook Q&A where the prime minister answers questions from members of the public — the prime minister delivered a coded critique of MPs opposed to a no-deal Brexit, such as Mr Hammond, who have taken a public stand against his strategy.

“There’s a terrible collaboration, as it were, going on between people who think they can block Brexit in parliament and our European friends,” Mr Johnson said.

Watched this on Four Corners the other day.  Boris Johnson is so manipulative, untruthful and also cunning.  He knows that crazy buffoon image also distracts and gives him attention.  Sickening.  Brexit is an absolute mess.

What an outrageous statement to make, and with the intent of demonising and pilloring those who wish to remain.

If he's going to allege collaboration then he better produce the evidence.

It's yet another example of Johnson's tongue getting out of control.

Thank God, i didn't purchse the ticket for the MX Palladium show 😂

Well, some us have suffered and will continue to suffer the consequences of such moronic right-wing driven decision, end of freedom of movement. A decision some of us did not vote for nor were allowed to. Charming to see that some may be amused, however light hearted in reference to Madonna's Palladium nights the above comment might be...

It now appears that this dossier is the most up to date one.

I'm fed up with being told lies, blatent lies, and spin by so called government.

MPs are supposed to be our servants, not the other way around. This government is treating their electorate with distain, in a manner approaching the Soviet norm. They need to be reminded of this time and time again!

John Oliver said it all.

Personally my take on the current situation is: let the Brits crash out of the EU if that’s what they want and will make them happy. It’s insane but you can’t stop people from doing foolish things when they feel they have the upper hand. The top 1% will benefit from the following chaos because they can finally do whatever they want without any deals limiting them. The rest will suffer and of course the responsible ones won’t be blamed. Life sucks sometimes.

I have tickets for February’s London show and if necessary will apply for a visa. There are far worse things.

Brilliant from John Oliver. He is always spot on.

That bumbling stupid act of Boris Johnson is explained to perfection. Having corrupt, heartless, compulsive lying, racist leaders is always frightening. Having one that uses so called " humour" that is deliberately used as an odd diversion to the topic, makes it doubly sinister. Manipulation and diversion tactics can fool people - and he damn well fully knows that.

If they crash the EU suffers. It's not that easy.

The EU will suffer either way and so will the UK, by the way. Especially all the farmers and fishermen will miss the subsidies. That’s why I still consider this move insane.

However, I would not give in to this narcissistic bully. Just my two cents.

Ps: from which reddit thread is this from?

It makes you want to vomit to see this unelected POS suspend the democratic process to prevent the opposition from doing their job. But again, there is no surprise. The character is well-known and it was obvious that he will borrow all means, democratic or not, to achieve his ends.

Sickening, cowardly and dangerous man. A well known compulsive liar who deflects so easily as well.  As unethical and cunning as they get too.   As we have all noted in this thread,  the so called " clowns and buffoons"  are often far more dangerous than people give them credit for.

I may be naive but I don't expect a big chaos. Economy works without rules when rich people want. So goods will keep going.

goods...but what about the people? a lot of non UK people from europe live there, and a lot of people from the UK live in the continent.I know that there is some sort of plan about it but still, there should be some problems, if not, what´s the difference?

and what about the anks running from the city?

EU can´t let a member go without nothing happening to it

What I find so funny is that much about the Brexit was supposedly about the NHS. I wonder if people have really thought this through. Especially with that "really great" trade deal with the U.S. that will come soon (well, I guess that's "soon" the way Madonna understands it). Do people realize that the U.S. will most definately demand the opening of the U.K. Health market to U.S. companies, which will most likely be the last step to bring down the NHS. Conservatives for years have cut the budget of the NHS to create the impression of ineffectivity and a lack of care. All of this was supposed to open the system to private insurances etc. The trade deal will be the moment those attempts will come full circle.

Do people remember TTIP? That deal that was negotiated behind closed doors between the EU and the U.S. Negotiations were so secret that not even members of the national parliaments were granted information about the content. When someone leaked parts of it, all hell broke loose because of chlorine chicken, dismanteling workers rights, environmental rights etc., dubious courts to rule over cases where U.S. companies sue European countries over damages they allegedly have to suffer because those parliaments, as the representive of the people, dare to introduce or change certain laws. A democratic act that may cost countries billions of dollars in damages. Let's just say, TTIP was very much in favor of the U.S. Trump claims it was bad for the U.S. and that's why he called it off. The truth is, the deal was off the moment those documents saw the light of day. Now imagine what the U.S. will demand from the U.K., which is obviously in much weaker position than the EU.

Nothing was ever said about a deal during the referendum. In fact, nothing was ever said about the manner in which we would leave by the people who would - or rather, were supposed to - steer the ship. It was literally: stay or go. That's the entirety of it.

I firmly believe people were voting based entirely on their own idea of what leaving meant. The trouble is that 'remain' only meant one thing: nothing changes, no need for legislature, no need for any further action. It wasn't explained precisely what manner we were supposed to leave in.

The trouble here is this: we all thought they at least had an inkling of a plan. We weren't counting on our political elite being so arrogant that they assumed it was a 'done deal' therefore, why bother planning for the other outcome? That's why David Cameron resigned the day after, despite his "I'll trigger Article 50 the very next day" talk: he knew that he had been exposed.

One idea I heard was 'leaving would hand the Tories more power' and I'm sorry: I laugh every time I hear that, because they have more power in than out. Why do you think so many of them campaigned to stay in? If they truly had less power the inverse would surely have been true. I'm also pretty sure that had David Cameron decided to campaign Leave, Boris would have campaigned Remain.

As for Corbyn, he's a leaver, no matter what shirt he decides to wear each day. He knows his socialist programme can never exist while we're in the EU, so those hoping he would actually stick to his word and facilitate a remain campaign are lying to themselves. He also knows he'll never get power without at least superficially appearing to be pro-remain. The irony of this all is that it's him who has less power if we stay.

If you truly believe in Remain, vote for someone who actually campaigned for it all along.

Wow. The parliament is suspended.

Come on, Prorogue! 😂

General election looking like it could be for November now.

As an aside, here is an interesting tweet about Twitter bots. It's long but interesting about how a couple of Boris tweets appear to have been retweeted by fake Pro-trump accounts, pushing for hard Brexit.
