So obsessed, insecure, pressed

Tweeting about a daily tracking poll in which had him down 14 points a week ago. He probably got a 'bump' in this poll for not acting like a petulant child after the DC shooting.

And today, Rasmussen has him down 3. So he can fuck off.

He's so repulsive.

State Department issues unusual public warning to Saudi Arabia and UAE over Qatar rift

The State Department issued an unusual public warning to Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates on Tuesday over a diplomatic rift with fellow U.S. ally Qatar, and suggested that the Saudis may have provoked a crisis and drawn in the United States on false pretenses.

Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert said the administration was “mystified” that — two weeks after announcing a diplomatic and economic embargo against Qatar over alleged support for terrorism — Saudi Arabia and the UAE have not publicly detailed their complaints.

“The more that time goes by, the more doubt is raised about the actions taken by Saudi Arabia and the UAE,” Nauert said.

“At this point, we are left with one simple question: Were the actions really about their concerns about Qatar’s alleged support for terrorism, or were they about the long-simmering grievances between and among the GCC countries?”

All three nations are part of the six-member Gulf Cooperation Council, a loose diplomatic confederation of mostly wealthy Persian Gulf states. Of them, Saudi Arabia is the most powerful.

Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Bahrain, along with Egypt, severed diplomatic ties with Qatar this month and blocked trade and passenger traffic through their territory and airspace in protest of what the three said was Qatar’s backing of extremist Islamist organizations, as well as its ties to Iran.

The diplomatic crisis has been a test of the new U.S. administration’s pull with Arab allies, and has pitted President Trump’s public support for the Saudi-led action against Secretary of State Rex Tillerson’s preference for quiet, backroom diplomacy. Tillerson has had more than 20 calls and meetings devoted to helping resolve the crisis, Nauert said, but now sees little further room for U.S. mediation.

But, she said, he wants “results,” and is now saying: “Let’s finish this. Let’s get this going.”

The blockade was announced shortly after Trump last month made Saudi Arabia the first stop on his first overseas trip. He received an extravagant welcome, and lavished his hosts with praise. He also met with leaders of the UAE and Qatar individually, as well as at a GCC gathering, and signed a unity agreement with them.

Within days after his departure, Saudi Arabia announced the Qatar blockade. Trump tweeted his support. In their conversations with him, he said, the others had “pointed” at Qatar as a source of terror financing. He implied that his Riyadh visit had inspired the Saudi-led action.

Tillerson and Defense Secretary Jim Mattis, however, called for mediation and a quick resolution of the dispute. Qatar hosts the regional headquarters of the U.S. Central Command and launches air operations to Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan from a massive base there.

On June 9, Tillerson asked reporters to the State Department to read a prepared statement calling for the blockade to be eased, saying it was causing humanitarian and business hardships, and hindering U.S. military actions against the Islamic State.

The same day, Trump, speaking at a Rose Garden news conference, called the blockade “hard but necessary” and appeared to reinforce his backing for the Saudi view of Qatari culpability.

Last week, Mattis hosted Qatar’s defense minister here to finalize a $12 billion sale of 36 F-16 fighter jets. Two U.S. naval vessels made a port visit to Doha, the Qatari capital, and participated in an unscheduled military exercise with Qatar.

At a high-level White House meeting on the crisis Friday, officials expressed frustration at the failure of Saudi Arabia, the Emiratis and the others to present a promised list of their demands of Qatar. “It’s been two weeks,” said one senior administration official, who spoke Tuesday of the sensitive issue on the condition of anonymity. “We still haven’t seen this list.”

Over the years since the 9/11 attacks, the Treasury Department has accused virtually all of the GCC members of supporting terrorism in some fashion. Three successive U.S. administrations have tried to deal with the issue, with varying success (bs, that's why they have kept selling those countries billions of dollars worth of arms and equipment). Although none of the governments is now believed to finance terror groups, Saudi Arabia continues to spread its extreme version of Islam throughout the Muslim world while Kuwait, and especially Qatar, are believed to turn a blind eye to individuals in their countries who engage in such funding. Qatar denies being the source of terror funding, and has said that the United States has not supplied evidence of its charges.

Nauert referred to “alleged” Qatari support for terrorism but would not go into detail at the State Department briefing about whether Trump or Tillerson have changed their minds about the veracity of the Saudi claims.

Tillerson had made the Qatar crisis his main priority and cleared his travel schedule this week. The former Exxon Mobil chief executive has said that he hoped to use his longtime contacts with leaders of all three countries to defuse tension.

Laugh all you want but the Dems better come up with a f'king message asap and quality, non bland, robotic, elite pretty boy dud candidates like Osoff. Just another Hillary/Obama light. Osoff looks/ acts like he's from Seattle, LA or NYC not rural redneck America. Another awful, disconnected candidate. I know it's GA but that Handal bitch was dreadful and easily beatable. Lost many x before and a vocal bigot.

Dems need candidates who don't hold back and effectively go ballistic on Trump but more importantly the GOPs *policies. The Dem. running for governor in VA (Northam) was one of the few candidates since Trump won who was very vocal and bashed the hell out at him in his ads unlike Osoff and all the others. Dude is eager to get in boxing ring with Trump lol. He crushed not only his primary competitor (a Bernie guy) but almost doubled both GOP candidates combined.

I don't know, that district just couldn't overcome its republican lean. Once again, the pollsters underestimated how many republicans would come out to vote, and she won by a larger margin. There weren't enough democrats and independents to push him over the top.

What the democrats need to stop doing is courting republicans. That's how he lost. The DNC and his campaign were banking on republicans deflecting and moving over to vote for Osoff but they're not giving up on their supreme leader. Not yet anyway. This is exactly how Hillary lost. Stop banking on republicans to come to their 'senses' over Trump. They're either willfully delusional fucks who worship his alter, or their just turning the other cheek with their hands over their ears pretending nothing is happening.

So, you're right in the sense that democrats need to go ever harder at him, but I don't agree that a progressive firebrand would've won this district. At least not yet.

Very well spotted!

The Dems are a mess. Not to mention the obvious corruption. Corrosive and pervasive in ANY political quarter these days. I don't know but taking money from Goldman Sachs (hello 2008) or Saudi Arabia (hello ISIS) doesn't seem like the right idea anymore, much less honest and justifiable

It's obvious Trump is a joke and dangerous in many respects but having that only as ammunition is not enough, the US entire foreign policy has been dangerously wrong, bullish and mendacious for the past couple of decades and its time its politicians started telling the truth about what's actually going on in the Middle East, Africa and South America, for starters. Not to mention the well documented constant funnelling of money to extemists through tyrannical countries such Saudi Arabia, other Gulf states, Israel and Turkey that only serve to downsize the aspirations of main Empire competitors such as Russia, China and Iran.

As long as the Fed and US policy makers keep the Dollar tied to an oil denomination and don't instead opt to go back to the pre Nixon Gold Standard the US Dollar is essentially dead man walking, without addressing the US $20 trillion debt thanks to the past 60 years of war and unilateral interventionism

The IMF and World Bank are just as guilty as the liars and traitors of the citizens sitting in DC of course

Agree that (once again) the media and Hollywood are def a factor to why he under performed here (or prob. why she over performed at the last minute). 'They' were the ones who turned this into a 2016-esque circus. Yes Hillary lost by one 1-2% but It's a VERY Repub district. A place where f'king Gingrich and Price are from lol and haven't had a Dem represent since 1979. A 'college educated' deep southern place is different than in a coastal or deep purple state.  Haven't learned a thing in 7 months! If they 'maybe' would've just let it play out and not Hollywood it up like all the other special elections, Osoff or whoever would've done better. Not saying he would've won but my god..the dude in *South Carolina* came closer and had an overall better showing lol!

Look at how it HURT Hillary when you 'recruit' the Chelsea Handlers, Alyssa Milano, Rosie, Jane Fonda etc etc.. lol. Works in CA and most coastal states where the Dems will win anyway. Not in GA and all it's sister and brother white trash states.

North Korea: Trump a 'psychopath' who may launch strike to distract from US problems

A North Korean state newspaper on Thursday called President Trump a "psychopath" and said that he was weighing a pre-emptive strike against the country to divert attention from political turmoil in the U.S., The Washington Post reported.

The commentary warns South Korea, a key U.S. ally in the region, against following the lead of "psychopath Trump," saying that doing so "will only lead to disaster."

It also suggests that Trump is facing a "tough situation" at home, including his possible impeachment, and is following in the footsteps of other U.S. presidents in escalating tensions to distract from domestic political trouble.

The commentary came three days after the death of Otto Warmbier, the American man who returned to the U.S. last week after being detained in North Korea for 17 months.

During his detention, details of Warmbier's condition remained unknown to his family and U.S. officials. Upon news of his return, he was revealed to have been in a coma since March 2016.

Warmbier's death has further raised tensions between the U.S. and North Korea, who have increasingly butted heads over Pyongyang's rapidly advancing nuclear and missiles programs.

In his first months in office, Trump sought to pressure China, Pyongyang's only major ally, to rein in North Korea and help stymie its weapons programs.

Trump, however, tweeted on Tuesday that seeking China's assistance in addressing North Korea "has not worked out."

It wasn't clear exactly what the president meant by the tweet or whether he would continue to seek Beijing's cooperation on the matter.

It is beyond words how dangerous and unhinged Trump is.  We all know exactly the type of horrible regime that North Korea has. .  Just seeing what happened to Otto Warrmbier is one small example.  Breaks my heart how he was treated and how he died.  Sentenced to 15 years hard labour for taking a poster and now dead after one year in prison.  Disgusting and inhumane way he has been treated.

This is the country that Trump is "tweeting"  about so casually.  Not the way any sane, intelligent and measured leader would react.  He disgusts me to the core.

Also, watching the Republicans talk about Health care makes me want to be sick.   I hope the "poorer people"  who thought Trump would look after them are now awake to what his thoughts are and how little he cares about them. .  He could not care less about people that are not wealthy or people that can't afford health care.

You know we're screwed When North Korea sounds more sane and makes more sense than the POTUS :lmao:

I don't know that any Republican was easily beatable in a district where the GOP candidate wins by 20+ points in a general election. And comparing it to the Virginia governor race isn't helpful. Virginia has been trending bluish-purple for a few cycles and Georgia is pretty far behind that curve (no matter how much people thought Hillary had a chance there).

Although I agree the Democrats need a new message, I don't think going ballistic on Trump is the answer. They've been doing it for a while. He's been caught in so many lies and done so many stupid things that I've decided the bulk of GOP voters don't care. They don't believe the media anymore (unless it's FOX News), they are blatantly fine with racism and killing people of color, and they think they are the victims who lost out on good jobs because of immigrants (and not their own lack of skills or education). That is a tough wheel to turn around. I don't think any Democratic platform is going to resonate until the economy tanks even harder than 2008 and sends most of them to the poor house (or worse). Then, they will WANT the government to help them out because no private industry is going to.

Funny how these Trumpsters get so outraged about people making cruel jokes about the president. They've been saying far worse things about Obama and Hillary but they have always justified it as not wanting to be political correct. But Obama was president and Hillary was the wife of the president. So what is their logic? You nolonger have to be political correct but don't say a bad word about us? That's exactly how a dictatorship works. And they have been spewing venom about pretty much all minorities in the US but now we have to shut up? Trump has said far worse things considering Johnny Depp only cracked an insensitive joke.

Yup unless they do a 360 (*quality Pine Soil fresh clean youthful candidate and MESSAGE...like asap!) which they are still NOT doing, it'll the sequel to their botched, lazy, garbage 2016 'strategy'. US is a country where the typical citizen has next to no attention span, easily desensitized and dumb down yet stick with what they 'know' even if it's Trump. If there's no major market crash, recession and/or something that actually is 10x worse than the Access Hollywood tape. Yes, where they do show him pissing or visa versa while dropping the N word w/ underage Russian girls in the mix he'd prob lose PA and maybe one or 2 rust belt purple states...enough for the Dem to barely win :# lol He aint losing places like Indiana, Ohio and the like and esp its inbred sister and brother southern states.

Exactly. And they need to finally fight as hard and dirty as the opponent. They need to go for the jugular. the time of "if they go low, we go high" is over. The Democrats should watch the documentary "Get me Roger Stone" in order to understand that playing PC and graciously will not lead them anywhere.
