You simply can't handle it. I'm just glad that you read my posts, even though it's impossible a civilized discussion with you, since you never bring anything constructive to this discussion. Quite honestly, you are the loser here if all you do is verbally attack people here.

Just curious: when is the last time you posted in a Madonna thread?  Let's do this, then we'll start to talk.

The "some people here" vagarities with strawmen hanging off have little to do with what people are actually posting in here.  I know I'm not seeing people rushing to their fainting couches over the outrage of this military action, Hillary would never do such a thing, this administration is just so horrible, what a world.  Rather, people are responding to Trump's whiplash-inducing but utterly unshocking turnaround (especially in light of his colorful twitter past circa 2012-2013), the incongruence in his appealing to "beautiful innocent babies" to justify this while telling them to get fucked and die when they come in refugee form, and I suppose there's also some implicit mockery of those who were incessantly going on (on this very forum, even) about how isolationist Trump would be and how much he would diverge from the past 16 years of foreign policy even if he had a ghastly domestic agenda and was so disgusting as a person blah blah blah.  In any case, Hillary Irrelevant Clinton has about as much bearing on the situation as Al Gore, and bringing her up comes across as bizarre rather than keeping it real or whatever.

Exactly.

Strange people here.

Trump is doing EXACTLY what Hillary Clinton was supposed to do and people are acting like OMG WHAT A NUT PRESIDENT!!

Oh well, hello? That is the american reality no matter who is in charge!

The american establishment is in charge as has always been, and it surely would be with Hillary Clinton anyway.

I wonder if people here would feel the same it was Hillary Clinton bombing yria.

I can't speak for everyone else, but I'd feel the exact same way.

And bombing Syria hasn't made people say "OMG what a nut president!" Trump has been proving his insanity for decades.  He's proven himself to be a thin skinned, knee jerk know it all, man-child who has no business being in charge of such decisions. That's what I find so horrifying with all of this. Is his complete disregard for facts and his narrow minded worldview. Do you really think he has any real idea what's going on in Syria? I don't.

At least if Hillary were to launch a strike in Syria or anywhere else, I'd find a modicum of solace and peace of mind that there was someone sane in charge of it all. With Trump, I shudder to think how this is all going to end.

Former British Ambassador to Syria Peter Ford:

"Trump has just given jihadis a thousand reasons to stage false flag operations"

"Remember the run up to Iraq 2003, just like with the fake WMD they were looking for a pretext to attack Syria"

"We cannot take what the Intelligence "experts" say at face value, especially when they have an agenda"

Those weapons of mass destruction gotta be somewhere

Good God help us all

Bumbling Clueless British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson has cancelled his trip to Moscow warning Russia to get out of Syria

The arrogance is astounding

I hope someone called the previous US administrations too to warn them to drop their support for evil Assad, oh wait, they did already

It is a photocopy of a bad photocopy from previous unuilateral engagements

It's like a self-fulfilling poorly scripted movie

Wasn't he gassing his own people before this dinner took place?

U.S. Reroutes Warships Toward Korean Peninsula in Show of Force

10military-web-master768.jpg

WASHINGTON — The commander of American forces in the Pacific has ordered an aircraft carrier and several other warships toward the Korean Peninsula in a show of force by the Trump administration just days after North Korea tested another intermediate-range missile.

The officer, Adm. Harry B. Harris Jr., the head of the military’s Pacific Command, diverted the aircraft carrier Carl Vinson and its wing of fighter jets from a planned series of exercises and port calls in Australia, the command said in a statement. The Vinson and three guided-missile destroyers and cruisers steamed out of Singapore on Saturday for their new mission in the Western Pacific.

Rerouting the naval armada is President Trump’s latest escalation in force against a potential adversary. Mr. Trump ordered a cruise missile strike last week against a Syrian military air base in retaliation for a chemical weapons attack by the Syrian government that killed scores of civilians.

At a meeting last week at Mr. Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida, he joined with President Xi Jinping of China in warning of the increasing menace posed by North Korea’s advancing nuclear weapons program. Asked on Sunday why the Navy ships were being redirected toward the Korean Peninsula, the president’s national security adviser, Lt. Gen. H. R. McMaster, said it was a “prudent” step to take.

Yeah I noticed that too. So exemplary for Trump supporters!

But it was not clever to have any hopes for Trump in the first place. So yes, it's ok to question Spazz to some extent. Especially since he didn't seem open to opposing arguments and always coming back for Obama...

Historian Gerald Horne from the University of Houston on Trump's attack

02:16

This attack on Syria can be easily interpreted as a kind of wag the dog strategy by Mr Trump, that is to say the bloodhounds were on his trail as a result of his pre November 2016 contacts with Moscow, supposedly helping him to defeat Hilary Rodham Clinton and to show that he can stand up to Moscow, he launches this attack, it leads to Moscow basically saying that the hotline which is designed to prevent the US and Russian airforce from colliding over the skies of Syria, is now no longer operative and you have a number of Democrats coming out and congratulating him for making this attack, even Senator Tim Kaine of Virginia who's been a stickler with regard to the world powers resolution of the early 1970s wich mandates that presidents go to Congress before attacking a nation, he congratulated Trump on this attack although he did say like Nancy Pelosi that he should now come to Congress to get an authorisation for military force, so in some ways Trump has thrown the bloodhounds off his trail. At least temporarily

When asked whe he models his vice presidency after Mike Pence answered Dick Cheney, and Dick Cheney is of course the one that manufactured all the arguments for the Invasion of Iraq, it makes no sense for Assad to be doing this right now

It makes no political sense and keep in mind that after investigating the August 2013 supposed chemical attack by Assad the independent journalist Seymour Hersh came to the conclusion that actually it was the rebels assisted by their Turkish allies to have used chemical weapons
The Internationl community should have led an investigation before there was any kind of resort to military action.

It's a rather sad comment on the state of the UN and its Security Council that there is not even a word of opposition outside of the Russians. All European powers applauded the American move, the Japanese did too, the Chinese were somewhat more reticent but they certainly didn't condemn it, this means we have come a long way from that 2003 Security Council meeting where many of the members including France opposed US intervention and stood up against it and were not persuaded by Colin Powell's dog and pony show of weapons of mass destructions. Here's there's barely a pisquick of questioning whether the American Intelligence is justified or not, correct?

Well if you look at France you might get an understanding of why Marine Le Pen, the right-wing candidate is slated to do well in the upcoming presidential elections because President Hollande a so-called socialist applauded Mr Trump's attack whie Le Pen castigated that attack. I think it's also fair to point out that Bolivia which is representing the Latin American Left denounced the US attack but all in all it's rather unfortunate that there was not more denunciation from the Internationl Community. But look at US domestic scene: here you have MSNBC which styles itself as the Left among cable channels but Rachel Maddow who sees herself as some sort of leader of the Left and the resistance to Trump has had as a guest most recently Mr Rasmussen, the defrocked leader of NATO and right-wing Danish politician and what this reveals is that the Russia-gate scandal whose investigation should be looking into the pre November 2016 between Moscow and Trump has bled into trying to whip up a new Cold War, hence someone like Rasmussen appearing on the Rachel Maddow show, this is part of the problem

On CNN James Wolsely recently he turned the interview into a recommendation for Trump to launch a military attack on Iran even if there is zero evidence there ever was a nuclear facility, even the International Agency for Atomic Energy is saying that Iran is complying with the agreement, and Wolsely says: "attack iran on the way back, take out Assad" and then another guest, Mr rellick who's also a Trmp advisor although he headed the CIA under Clinton he is dredged out on CNN, the war drums are beating ...

Well it's not only the war drums it's the hypocrisy and the sanctimony, here you have Mr Trump who got elected bsed on his pledge to keep Syrian refugees outside of the united States and now he's shedding copious amount of crocodile tears about Syrians being killed supposedly at the hands of Bashar Al Assad, then you have Benjamin Netanyau who's probably the biggest winner out of this episode because this attack on Syria marks a giant step forward towards a second attack this time on Iran, which is clearly into crosshairs. We are heading into a catastrophe
