What the actual fuck is THAT?????
This is truly the shittiest cover of her career. Oh my god.

If this is indeed the final cover we need to find that Aldo Diaz dude...

madBIM.jpg

This is truly awful and I even "get" why she chose (if she did) that cheesy Bitch I'm Madonna single cover he designed. At least that was funny in some way. But THIS? This isn't even funny. It's just awful and I have never, ever, in all the many, many years I've been a Madonna die-hard fan felt the need to petition or some shit. But this??????? What's Guy O's email address? Let's fix this shit guys what the actual fuck. She can't fucking put THAT shit out. What the fuuuuuuuck??!!?!?!?!!

Out of all of the options of fanmade Rebel Heart Tour covers and the fact she's fucking Madonna and could get ANY graphic designer in the world to take care of her artwork in a heartbeat, THAT SHIT is what we get?!?!

I MEAN:

@Royal T was prophetic with his post last year...

YAJTW3H.jpg

She might as well make this joke above the cover if we're gonna stoop that low now.

This is fucking ugly as shit and I'm personally holding that Aldo guy responsible for being the absolute biggest shit stain on M's ENTIRE discography. Years from now, his name will still cause laughter and cringing from fans who'll forever be resentful. This is the woman who won the Best Album Package Grammy in 1998! (technically Kevin Reagan won, he's Ray Of Light's graphic designer)

I CANNOT GET OVER THIS

WHAT THE FUCK

She must be trolling us and must've read the thread on here where people are laughing at her artwork and Aldo Diaz (aka the one were that ^ shit cover is from). There's no other possible explanation. Is it really that necessary to piss us off too? I LOVE that she pisses of establishment and wears grills, twerks, whatever the fuck... But this is just a really bad joke. Don't piss off the fans? Most of us are flaming faggots who live for album artwork. We buy her shit in the standard version, the deluxe, the Japanese version, the UK edition, the whatever-else-fucking edition because we care and live for that shit and this is our latest "gift"? This isn't even "purposefully tacky and funny" like the Hard Candy artwork. This is plain SHIT.

LMAO

My first Madonna meltdown. After all these years.

LAWD THIS WOMAN... I cannot.

*will change the artwork in both iTunes AND my physical copy if this shit is the official cover*
*hopes Guy Oseary gets crabs and the flu if he let this happen*
*hopes Madonna finds another queen with Photoshop who tags her daily on Instagram and falls in love with a pretty fanmade cover*

To be honest the hysteria in this thread is just what it is: hysteria on an internet forum with about 10-15 people who pay particular attention to her foot or the picture or whatever.

The truth of the matter is in the mainstream no one gives a shit about DVD artwork. Let alone about buying DVDs.

Which I suppose brings the issue full circle because Madonna and her team live in la la land where they think her DVD may sell hundreds of thousands of copies. The fact is at this point her main market is precisely the fans who are throwing tantrums on internet forums for cropped images and bad graphics.

So she owes us a semi decent cover pic.

Does that make sense?

Yes. People need to understand that some fans act so melodramatic because a) they care about Madonna's (rare) releases and cherish them and b) appreciate nice things.

Let's be pro-active y'all. Aldo is clearly a bottom who says he's a top.

Who's willing to fuck and get us a decent cover?

DO IT FOR THE TEAM

It has been stated by Aldo himself that this is not the DVD cover. Why is everyone still angry?

It's not like the official will be any better considering his work lol

Everybody pitch in a quarter so we can buy him  a "Graphic Design for Dummies" manual!

Because he is absolutely shit. I've got a degree in Graphic Design and his work is that of someone who loves to play around in Photoshop and not of a designer. He has no concept whatsoever regarding typography (I cannot believe he used a lookalike font on the BIM single for the "feat. Nicki Minaj" and also that TOAC booklet).

He uses blurring all the time and thinks this is creative. He also does no research into the images he's using as he is using one from her Brit Awards performance in his "poster" and doesn't even know it!!!

Anybody who dare dare says he is a designer, has to go....

The picture is gorgeous but is ruined by a dreadful artwork/00's landscape effect.

I actually think my 'meltdown' over 'just a cover' is pretty justified. If you don't care about the physical package then whats the point of even buying it? You can stream the entire show right now (for free if you wish!!?) and in HD!

If people really don't care packaging in then why the hell do they spend £20 + for bloody vinyl re-issues etc - it sure as hell isn't for the content. I don't know who M and her team think are going to be buying this DVD, but they should at least make it a desirable item for her fans to buy.

I think the cover is the ultimate poster child of how messy her brand has gotten lately.

Ever since MDNA all releases (marketing-wise) felt stupid and not very thought through. From the messy YT/Vevo channel, to the Ghosttown/meerkat desaster, to the rushed album release, to the RH single covers etc. The list just doesn't end. And a cover as poorly executed as this is not acceptable from the woman that has created the greatest visuals in music history and relied on images so heavy throughout her entire career. The greatest pop star alive deserves a greater treatment overall.

The model has completely changed though. The music industry is not what it used to be. I don't really blame her to be honest. She has nothing left to prove.

The problem is not the artwork or the promo (or lack of it), it's the fact that her legacy is now being undermined by many factors, and her mismanagement is only one aspect of that.

But then why do other artist like Bjork (who's fanbase must be a microcosm compared to Madonna's) produce incredibly beautiful box etc than I'm totally sucker for, I just hand over the cash instantly because of their beauty. I'm sorry but she has absolutely no justifiable reason to choose something this shit as a cover. I've not idea what's going on in her head.

Madonna's always had mostly mediocre packaging of her main releases and not much in the way of extra 'special' edition items throughout her career to be honest.

I mean we haven't even got a box set and she's 30+ years into her career! The best we get is when Warners 'reissue' selections from her studio albums into a cardboard box (minus artwork). The biggest irony of it all being how much money there is to be made given how loyal and fervently zealous her collectors are  :lmao:

It's just mental on her part......I thought she was all about $$$$$?! I actually want to buy Madonna stuff but she keeps making it more and more difficult for me to do so. I always see fans saying 'but there's more money in skin care' blah blah.............that's still no reason to not make huge stacks of cash of overpriced re-issues and boxsets - she wouldn't have to lift finger.

That's not an excuse to treat her brand like this. It's like she's surrounded by amateurs rather than professionals.

Yeah but she's a control freak so she wouldn't want to do it if she wasn't going to get involved and judging by her own tastes ..... well we can guess what the final products will be like...

So people would buy something full of songs they already have like a box set or reissued older albums just because they love the cover artwork? I'm not like that, and it makes zero sense to me. So I can see why it doesn't make sense to Madonna either.

I like Bjork, but I had no interest in buying her insanely overpriced box set full of stuff I already had.

Are they really that many collectors with so much excess money to spend on music they already own? That just seems like a waste of money to me.

I like pretty things, lets say she makes a very nice EROTICA package with the singles, maybe a demo, a little book....

Well it must make sense to Madonna because the only things she's sanctioned since leaving WB HAS been crap cheap CD boxsets of previously released albums and endless vinyl reissues.

The things that would make sense, like special edition albums, proper expert remastering of her late 80s and 90s catalogue, releases of her landmark works like BA, digital versions of her whole remix discography....all remain a pipe dream. That is of course her choice, but there comes a point when "not looking back" and all that jazz starts to become almost like wilful neglect. What's the betting the 30th Anniversary of LAP goes by with barely a quick mention on Instagram, and that is a sad state of affairs.

And yes, Madonna is one of the Top 5 most collectable artists in the world and has been for many years. Some people will buy anything and everything, which is up to them.

That's what I'm saying, it's a DVD cover that barely anyone will buy or even notice its existence, but I'm FUMING at the fact that she's been using Aldo Diaz time after time. It's not even about the artwork being bad or not, it's just amateur, sloppy, tacky and dated, like a sketchy nightclub's posters.

TRUTH!!

I bought that when I was 11 years old and I was absolutely smitten by Virgin/First Album era Madonna looks wise. I thought (and still think) she was just soooo gorgeous back then.....but even at that age, I hated that cover....lol.....I thought of ALLL the gorgeous pictures (some even included in the little fold out on that VHS) WHY that one?? So.....yeah, MadonnaNation circa '85 (VT VHS), '88 (CIAO ITALIA VHS) would've had these same meltdowns. I wore that tape out though! VT is probably by far the tour I've seen the most. It was the first one I ever owned so I played the fuck out of it! Anyways, the not so great cover doesn't take away from the content. I'm not feeling that RH cover either but I don't quite understand not buying it because I don't like the cover. I mean....I like the tour itself....they could put it in a cardboard sleeve and I'd buy the damn thing. Someone else said it before, but we're so lucky to have ALL of her tours documented substantially in some way. Even though we don't have BA and RIT, we do have TOD and IGTYAS. Most fans aren't so lucky.

She's like Prince in 1997 now.

Ofc it makes sense. Nowadays the boxing is one of the few arguments to buy a physical release. Why else would I spend more money on physical media instead of getting it digital for a cheaper price?

I have bought the RH Super Deluxe and also the So Rebel Photobook, because I just love the visuals. Everything was put together so nicely. And Madonna is unarguably a visual artist. If it was solely about the songs, I could've bought the iTunes version and be good. There's a reason why vinyl sales have increased significantly over the last few years. Or to give a more recent example: just look at Beoynce's One Year Anniversary box set for Lemonade. That thing sold out within a couple of hours and she made roughly $3.5m with it. I doubt anyone, who hadn't owned that album before anyway, spent those $3,000 on a box set. High quality and stunning visuals can be a reason to buy after all.

Yeah, I'm totally with you. Level of taste is one thing, but the execution is just utter shit and embarrassing. Whether it's standing on a sale shelf or displaying online, this amateur-crafted poster is in no way representative of this otherwise flawless tour. If I saw a movie (or tour) with such a tacky poster on Netflix, I wouldn't even bother to read the description.

I'm not saying a DVD cover per se is a deal breaker - it's kind of the message what's behind it. But personally, I will just buy a digital copy, so that I don't have to see the hideous artwork whenever I want to watch the tour.
