Trump tweets: The media is the 'enemy of the American people'

BY MAX GREENWOOD

President Trump blasted the media as "the enemy of the American people" in a tweet Friday, calling out several outlets specifically.

"The FAKE NEWS media (failing @nytimes, @NBCNews, @ABC, @CBS, @CNN) is not my enemy, it is the enemy of the American People!" he wrote.

He had posted and then quickly deleted a slightly different version of the tweet just a few minutes earlier, which omitted ABC and CBS. He also included the word "SICK!" at the end of the original post.

The tweet came one day after Trump held an adversarial and lengthy news conference, in which he berated the media as "very fake news" and dismissed news reports about his and his associates' ties to Russia as a "ruse."

About an hour later, he posted a second tweet criticizing the media's coverage of the press conference.

"'One of the most effective press conferences I've ever seen!' says Rush Limbaugh. Many agree.Yet FAKE MEDIA calls it differently! Dishonest," Trump wrote.

Trump has long had an antagonistic relationship with the press, and often labels news stories he sees as unfavorable as "fake news." Trump's campaign issued a survey to supporters on Friday, asking them to gauge the trustworthiness of the media.

The news outlets singled out in Trump's Friday afternoon tweet are not new targets for the president. He has often lambasted CNN and The New York Times, referring to them as "failing" and out of touch with voters.

In a rare interview with The New York Times last month, Chief White House Strategist Steve Bannon, the former chair of the far-right Breitbart News, called reporters the "opposition party" and said "the media should be embarrassed and humiliated and keep its mouth shut and just listen for a while."

"They don't understand this country," Bannon said. "They still do not understand why Donald Trump is the president of the United States."

Trump echoed Bannon's comments shortly after, telling "The Brody File" that "the media is the opposition party in many ways."

I hope the American public that like Trump say see exactly what Trump is doing.  By continually saying the media is disgusting, wrong and printing fake news, he is trying to make them irrelevant and take them out of the equation of people that follow him.  Then they are given the views that they should just listen to the lies that he says and dismiss everything they read and hear by the media,  even if the evidence that back the press up is over-whelming.  It is a tactic that all dictators use and have done in history.  If Trump could somehow ban all the media and just have what he wanted printed, he would.  He is that egotistical, unhinged and power hungry.

I saw a meme the other day that said Trump should just say he built a wall across the border because his supporters would believe it anyway and it would be cheaper.

No they won't see it. Bet they cannot wait till Trump will roll out his own news network, as I stated a while back. Ignorance to those Trump lovers is an absolute bliss.

Tennessee Man Convicted Of Plot To Round Up Militia, Attack Muslim Community

Robert Doggart, 65, will be sentenced in May.

A Tennessee man was found guilty on Thursday of plotting in 2015 to round up a militia and burn down a mosque, school and cafeteria in the upstate New York community of Islamberg, which is home to a mostly Muslim population, prosecutors said.

Robert Doggart, 65, was convicted in U.S. District Court in Chattanooga of solicitation to commit arson and violate civil rights, as well as of making a threat in interstate commerce, the Department of Justice said in a written statement.

Attorneys for Doggart did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

Doggart was arrested by Federal Bureau of Investigation agents in April 2015 after telling a government informant in wire-tapped phone calls that he planned to recruit a militia and travel to Islamberg, about 145 miles northwest of New York City, prosecutors say.

The group planned to burn down the community’s mosque and shoot anyone who tried to stop them, according to the criminal complaint.

“The defendant sought out others to join him in a violent attack on a community of men, women, and children because of their religion,” Acting Assistant Attorney General Tom Wheeler said in the statement.

Defense attorneys argued in court that Doggart had exaggerated his intentions to attack Islamberg after being encouraged by the informant and that he never had a solid plan in place, the Chattanooga Times Free Press reported.

The attorneys also argued that Doggart believed Islamberg residents were training for guerrilla warfare against the West, the newspaper reported.

Islamberg, started by a group of African-American Muslims who moved from U.S. cities in the 1970s, is a gated community with dirt roads and several dozen small homes near the town of Hancock in New York’s Catskills Mountains.

The 200 or so members of the community, in which children are home-schooled and residents worship at a mosque built on the 70-acre property, follow a Pakistani Sufi cleric.

Doggart, who had been confined to his home since his apprehension, was taken into custody following Thursday’s verdict, WRCB TV news reported. His sentencing is scheduled for May, it reported.

Bet the Trump loving voters are happy to financially sustain him and his horrid plastic family, including the Melania-appreciative ones...

President Trump’s family is living large — and American taxpayers are paying for it

The Trump family is footing Americans with an ever-increasing bill so they can maintain their lifestyle

Z

President Donald Trump may have been elected as the nominee of a party that prides itself on fiscal conservatism, but he and his family are preparing to blow taxpayers out of the water as they continue with their posh lifestyle.

From the president’s frequent trips to his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida and his sons’ upcoming trip to the United Arab Emirates to open a golf course in Dubai to the First Lady’s decision to reside at Trump Tower in New York City, the lifestyle choices of Trump and family are running up taxpayers’ tab in an unprecedented manner, according to a report from The Washington Post.

Although the agencies which handle most of these expenses did not reply to the Post’s request for specific figures, the newspaper was able to estimate that the president’s three trips to Mar-a-Lago probably cost roughly $10 million, that New York City spends $500,000 every day to guard Trump Tower (which could reach over $730 million by the end of Trump’s first term), and that Eric Trump’s trip to Uruguay for a Trump-brand condo tower cost nearly $100,000 in hotel bills.

“This is an expensive way to conduct business, and the president should recognize that,” said Tom Fitton, president of the conservative group Judicial Watch, when speaking to The Post. “The unique thing about President Trump is that he knows what it costs to run a plane.”

By contrast, although Judicial Watch regularly criticized President Obama for forcing taxpayers to cover his vacation costs, they estimated that his expenses only equaled roughly $97 million during his eight-year presidency — a fraction of what is anticipated for Trump.

By going to Florida and basking to his supporters applause and cheers Trump has proved to be the attention seeker everybody thinks he is. His supporters are idiots if they can't see they're only used as picture opportunities so Trump can say "Look I'm loved! They're cheering for me. There are thousands of them and only a few protesting outside. " Hes forgetting to mention the millions who marched against him. How can anyone in their right mind support this man? He's simply not stable mentally. He's a pawn into the hands of the far right and Americans are way too stupid to see that.

Trump is just out of control.  How can the President of the United States make up an attack in Sweden and expect to get away with it ?   The scariest part is he actually does think he can get away with it and also that his supporters will back him up again.

Welp, Milo Yiannopoulos...may no one normalize your bullshit again.

Video shared ahead of CPAC shows Milo Yiannopoulos speaking fondly of relationships between men and 'young boys'

Breitbart editor Milo Yiannopoulos’ tolerant statements on pedophilia may have jeopardized his speaking opportunity at next week's Conservative Political Action Conference.

The right-wing provocateur once spoke fondly of relationships between children and men on the 2016 podcast "The Drunken Peasants."

In the Jan. 4 episode, he flippantly said that young boys "discover who they are" through those relationships, later implying that those relationships can be sexual in nature, and can "give them security and safety and provide them with love and a reliable rock where they can't speak to their parents," he said.

Goodbye you piece of shit.
