Well that wouldn't surprise me.

Speaking on Friday, EU Trade Commissioner Cecilia Malmström said it would make no sense to expect further talks on the issue, which had already stalled due to European demands over U.S. product standards and a demand for access to U.S. public sector contracts, otherwise protected by the Buy American Act.

Malmst√∂m, in what could be a harbinger for President-elect Trump‚Äôs attitude towards the EU, was forced to admit that EU officials are in the dark over the process. She said they ‚Äúdon‚Äôt really know what will happen,‚ÄĚ and admitted TTIP ‚Äúmight not be the biggest priority‚ÄĚ of the President-elect, according to Deustche Welle.

‚ÄúThere is strong reason to believe that there would be a pause in¬†TTIP,‚ÄĚ

Reality will slap him in the face in a few months.

You know what led to hyperinflation in Mexico, Brazil, Argentina and Chile in the 70s and 80s?

Nationalist protectionist assholes who round up their people by saying WE'RE #1, WE'RE #1, SUPPORT OUR INDUSTRY. KICK OUT THE FOREIGNERS. That drove foreign companies out of their countries, made it impossible for them to invest in their countries and it ultimately caused hyperinflation and ruined all of our economies and in Mexico's case, sent millions and millions of people over the border into the U.S.

That's literally what Trump SAID he's going to do. We'll see. Maybe absolutely everyone is wrong and in 2 years they'll be announcing that U.S. GDP outlook for 2019 is 5%.

Madonna would never win a presidency.  She would be labelled "crooked Madonna" just Hill.

Never underestimate the power of celebrity. Look at what it did for Trump. A lot of those ignorant people went to vote for him only because they saw him on tv.

Madonna could be sold as the most successful female artist of all time. She's a very popular figure world wide. She adopted black kids. She gave millions to charity throughout her long career and she even set up her own charity to help children in Malawi. Actually the list can go on... And on top of it she said and did more obscene things than Trump!

i would vote for that.

The *only pollster or whoever from Stony Brook who predicted he would win and why and got it ALL right predicted he would be impeached w/in a year..maybe less! lmao. I'm w/ him and telling you theres NO way the GOP doesn't have shit on this guy and do not in any way want him in there. At least with Trump and family lol you don't totally know what/who you get for the Supreme Court or whatever. We DO know what we're getting w/ Pence. He's 100x worse than Bush. Will make Bush look moderate and reasonable. I so wish someone like Kasich took the VP spot as it was rumored they def. wanted him!

I think that's exactly what the GOP is planning. Trump used the GOP Party as a host for his insidious egomaniac virus, and in turn they will use him to carry the Pence tapeworm right into the Oval office.

Get ready for the Great Battle of Our Time.

if the electoral decide to vote Hillary on Dec 19th, it's going to get uglier. People aren't talking, they are reacting. So, I'm thinking any chance for them to vote for her is out the window with all the protesting and craziness ensuing. I think disagreeing with Trump being elected should have been approached a different way.

The Socialist Party in France has been a MESS and will most likely not get reelected. I think it must have one of lowest support ratings ever.

i think you're right. The GOP will have told him to do exactly as they say, otherwise they will get rid of him.

Where did Marine Le Pen sympathize with Nazis? You seem to be talking about her father, who she kicked out of the party once she took over.

Hillary Clinton set to receive more votes than any US presidential candidate in history except Barack Obama

Democrat on course to trounce Donald Trump in popular vote despite losing election

Ben Kentish @BenKentish

November 12, 2016

Hillary Clinton is on course to receive more votes than any other US presidential candidate in history except Barack Obama ‚Äď despite losing Tuesday‚Äôs election to Donald Trump.

With the last remaining ballots still being counted, analysts expect the Democrat to pull clear of the new President-elect in the popular vote even though she lost the electoral college tally by some margin.

At least four million votes are yet to be counted in the Democrat-leaning state of California. These are a combination of postal votes and ballots cast by people whose voting eligibility could not be verified on the day.

Nate Cohn, an election analyst at the New York Times, estimates that once all votes have been counted, 63.4 million Americans will have voted for Mrs Clinton and 61.2 million for Mr Trump, giving the Democrat a ‚Äėwinning‚Äô margin of 1.5 per cent.¬†

That total would be more than the votes received by any other presidential candidate in history except for Mr Obama in 2008 and 2012.

The total number of votes cast is expected to easily exceed the 129 million from 2012.

However, it is not the overall number of votes cast for each candidate that matters in US presidential elections but the number of votes in the electoral college, which sees each state assigned a number of college votes that go to the candidate who wins the public vote in that state.

Mr Trump won the electoral college after unexpectedly taking states¬†such as Michigan and Wisconsin¬†that had previously been part of the Democrat‚Äôs ‚Äúfirewall‚ÄĚ of safe states.

He finished with 306 electoral college voters to Mrs Clinton’s 232. More than 270 are needed to win the presidency, giving Mr Trump has a comfortable margin.

The nature of the electoral college has led some peope to suggest Ms Clinton could still become president if electors vote against the instructions given to them by the electorate in their state.

There have been 157 of these so-called ‚Äúfaithless electors‚ÄĚ throughout history but they have never overturned an¬†election result and it is¬†unlikely to happen this year.

The unusually high number of votes cast for Ms Clinton is partly due to the rising population of the USA, but also appears to undermine suggestions that, compared to previous candidates, she failed to inspire voters.

The sizeable margin by which Ms Clinton looks likely to win the popular vote will also fuel controversy about the fairness of the electoral college system.

Tuesday‚Äôs election ‚Äď the fourth in which a candidate has lost the popular vote and still won the presidency ‚Äď has prompted renewed calls for the electoral college to be abolished in favour of a pure first-past-the-past system.

One petition demanding the elecotral college is scrapped has attracted more than 700,000 signatures while another has over 300,000.

Mr Trump himself had previously called the electoral college ‚Äúa disaster for democracy‚ÄĚ after mistakenly thinking that Barack Obama had lost the public vote in 2012 but retained the presidency.

One reason the electoral college was created was to ensure no single region of the US could dominate, such as the North out-voting the South along old Civil War lines, for example.

Did you ever listen to what other party members say - and everytime the party leader then clarify: they didn't really mean what was was said - but something slightly different *wink wink*. This time it goes not against jewish people (they are now rather used to ignite fear of muslims nowadays, only old Le Pen didn't get that it seems), but either Roma or Muslims. By the way here niece is more radical and rising as new poster girl for the party - and she claimed one has to understand what her grandfather has said. So we hardly know if it is rather a change in tone than a real change in final goals.

But if no utterances of Nazi sympathizing can be attributed to presidential candidate Marine Le Pen (or her niece who is a member of parliament), then it may be - at the very least - counterproductive for those those who oppose her¬†to give her that label: I suspect it feeds sympathy for le Pen by people who see these accusations as a form of demonization. In the BBC interview above she clearly states¬†her position on Islam. She's not against people of Muslim faith. She defends the socalled la√Įcit√© that is enshrined in the French constitution, which is the strict separation of church and state, i.e. the¬†absence of religious involvement in government affairs.

I personally don't call them Nazis, but they do use certain vocabulary or imagery of other fascist inspired regimes as e.g. early Mussolini or Franco used as well - which seems to be quite the fashion in France and Switzerland (and many of the other new right wing parties in central europe).

Can you elaborate on that a bit? What kind of Mussolini/Franco-like vocabulary or imagery does Marine Le Pen / her party use?

for example the poster that they took over from the swiss people's party showing minarets as missiles over the french mainland. Similar campaign posters which show France in colors of Algeria with mosques and a woman in a hijab?

Yes, that certainly hits the point home.

I am surprised to see so little American anger directed toward the FBI, seems more people concerned about Facebook news feeds than an independent government agency deliberately interfering in an election result

Well, it's certainly not Hillary's fault. She blamed her loss on the FBI at her first opportunity: a call with those who bankrolled her campaign.

People are missing the point here...

Maybe Le Pens and even Trump are not racist and Im sure it would be anti constitutional for both Le Pens and Trump to be racist or declare themselves racist. They will always have to be careful about what theyre saying. For now anyways.

The problems I have with those two is the fact that true racists or nazi sympathisers are supporting them! And they both have never denounced that! They have never denounced those people or groups. How can you stand there representing your little party knowing that it's supported and promoted and financed by that sort of people!

They would never in a million of years admit to be racist in this time and age but wait until they get some power.. Did president Trump denounce the KKK celebrating his victory? Or is he actually proud they're standing by him? Does he feel good knowing those people give him the vote? If so why?

Marie Le Pens supporters are the worst. In England we have little political associations like EDL. They're a bunch of hateful racists! And Farage is their idol!! Doesn't that ring alarm bells to you?

Why no one is calling them out for it? Where's the so called status quo?! Of course these people will never admit to their extremist ideas... it's their supporters who are doing that job for them!

Trump says we are going to build a wall... and they shout Build That Wall or USA! Trump says Muslims have to go and the crowds are cheering and keep shouting USA! I mean they're just selling hate. Those are not solutions! Those are not righteous, assuring policies! But the average hateful racist will buy it and go vote Trump. That's why Trump has to go... he represents a group of peeps who shouldn't have a say; should have been long gone by now!

I understand what you are saying. But do politicians on the other side of the political spectrum denounce their unsavory supporters? For example, in my country political violence overwhelmingly comes from the extreme left, who for instance use violence against peaceful Pegida demonstrations. Not only do left wing parties FAIL to denounce these actions, but these violent mobs are even LED by local level politicians of far left parties.
