It's impossible they get a great deal, unless The Powers That Be can profit from that. And with UK oriented into services and industry focusing in Central Europe, only if bigger forces think the UK is profitable can that happen. I always feel that 90% of what really happens is unknown to us. London being the center of illegal finances, maffia and oligarcs can play a big deal in terms of finances, I guess.

Absolutely!

The Tory party care about the Tory party. Full stop. Above country, above people, above economy. The only reason we are in this mess is because Cameron, not seeing the effect of globalization looming in the distance, gambled on the 'people' being bright enough to shut up the (powerful) Euro sceptics in his own party for good by having a referendum. He took that foolish gamble and lost. They won, and they're now in charge and pulling the strings. They don't want a single market, they don't want a customs union. The powerful and the rich want to play by WTO rules. That is what will make them richer, that is what will turn the UK into a tax haven for the rich and a low wage shit economy for the rest. . The media conglomerates are also cashing a huge paycheck with this madness. Readership of The Daily Mail and its ilk has never been higher. Right wing media bias (including the BBC) is at an alarmingly dangerous level, where to say a single bad word against Brexit or Theresa May's role in it has you labelled a "traitor" and "saboteur".

These fucking IDIOTS who you see during every news program beating their chests about how they've voted Labour for 40 years but this time they're "voting for Theresa May cause she's the only one who'll take us out of Europe" or "I don't like the look of that Jeremy Corbyn" .... these people who didn't give a passing thought to Europe until it started being beaten daily into their feral little xenophobic minds that the "immigrants" are stealing their jobs, that every law in the country is dictated by Brussels, that it's the "Left Wing Elite" who are out of touch and causing economic inequality in their shithole industrial towns that were decimated by the Tories under Thatcher, that turned a once great manufacturing country into a nation of telesales and customer service workers.

And by the time people wake up and realise what they've done? Well... TOO LATE.

So, for the General Election next month - if you're in England or Wales then vote for WHOEVER is closest in numbers to the leading Tory candidate in an effort to get them out. If you're in Scotland, vote SNP and help speed up the process of getting us away from the hellhole rUk is turning into. If you're in N Ireland, then for fucks sake, is it any more obvious that rUK could not give a shit about you? Become one country again and grow a pair. Everyone else, spare a thought for those that actually DIDN'T take the country in this direction.

There is nothing worse than people who have voted Labour or the equivalent all their lives that then gloat about changing their minds.  They have got everything because of them - health care, equal pay etc and are letting a party sweep to power that will take away everything they have benefited from.  Frankly, they make me sick.  Do they think that the right wing parties will care about them ?   They only care about the rich and their tax benefits etc.  Messing it up for future generations.

It's so incredibly stupid, even amoral. How many people died so we can have work rights now, or social benefits?

I'm recently watching "Call the Midwife", a British tv series. I love it. Being about midwifes in the 50s, it's not only interesting to know who much has evolved gynecology all these decades, but it was back then, in the 50s, when social care was stablished in so many European countries. But before people could ask for help for a better house, for example, families were living in horrible conditions and epidemies where so rampant! Before healthcare was universal, only a few people could afford it and other died. How can we lose so many important things so fast, in just a decade we have given so many rights! In the UK it's especially frustrating, because it was an example of how socialism and capitalsm could work together. Until those fatidical late 80s and early 90s came and things started to go wrong. Was it because it was impossible to afford so much expense? No. It was because rich people wanted to be richer.

Well, he will be singing another tune when Teresa May and her party screw the pensioners.    The Conservatives here are always making life more difficult for the pensioners.  Cutting their benefits, bringing in stricter rules and desperately wanting to do more.  Luckily,  we sweep them from power when they try to bring in too much of their extreme ideology.  The UK needs to do this too and not let them have sweeping power.

When will this evil bastard Murdoch get his just desserts ?   It is criminal what he gets away with.  The whole phone hacking scandal did not even dent him in the end.  He did a deal with that Rebecca Brooks to take the blame and she is laughing now too.

Plus, how pathetic is that headline.  Comparing their legs like they are models.  They are politicians for goodness sake.  The way the tabloid media distracts from real issues with frivolous things that belong in the gossip celebrity pages is pathetic.

Pensioners are currently on a "triple lock" which secures, if not increases their pensions regardless of inflation (to the consternation of a lot of younger voters) This was a cynical ploy by the Tories to keep them on side as they are by far the most prolific voter base in UK. Interestingly enough, this time around she's fudging the question (SNP once again asking the questions Labour don't at PMQs)

We'll see if the old codgers take any notice....

True.  Scary as hell.  People need to look at why they have the benefits they do.

Yeah, Murdoch is hoping to take full control of SKY ...which would be a disaster and turn it into a UK Fox News type network. I'm not sure how much of a difference that scandal will make, but the competition regulators that are meant to be in place to stop such takeovers have given him full approval so far...non shock.

It terrifies me that people don't realize the power and influence this scumbag has and the damage he does.  The papers and media he runs here are disgusting and unfortunately they have influence.  He always pushes his own agenda and it is also racist, sexist and for the wealthy.  He also started the "tabloid"  way of running Newspapers back decades ago.  His own mother was horrified of him doing that.  He always slimes his way out of things though.

Theresa May announces she wants to bring back fox hunting

 fox.jpg

Theresa May has announced she hopes to bring back fox hunting.

The Conservatives will renew a pledge to hold a free vote on overturning the 2004 ban on the blood sport, Ms May said.

During a visit to a factory in Leeds, the Prime Minister said: "This is a situation on which individuals will have one view or the other, either pro or against. As it happens, personally I have always been in favour of fox hunting, and we maintain our commitment, we have had a commitment previously as a Conservative Party, to allow a free vote.

"It would allow Parliament the opportunity to take the decision on this."

David Cameron had promised to put the divisive issue to Parliament but did not go ahead with the plan due to a lack of support.

It comes after revelations of a plot by pro-fox hunting campaigners to use a predicted Tory landslide at the general election to repeal the ban.

Tory Lord Mancroft, chairman of the Council of Hunting Associations, said a sizeable majority for Ms May could usher in a new era for fox hunting and a vote on the issue could be scheduled for as early as this year.

:scared:

What a God awful horrifying collection of front page "material". Wonder why Theresa felt like hiring someone from the Daily Mail team as her new publicist. Oh wait ...

I mean that alone is in itself extremely telling. I also wonder whether bringing back fox hunting is the kind of ideal educational companion to her Grammar Schools plan

Truly sad

I feel sorry for the people who put their coins into The Sun, which I hear is Britain's top selling daily with its 3m copies, to get brainwashed and to make people like Murdoch even richer. Or maybe I don't. Their choice, their loss. Real news and gossipy titillation should be kept very separate

So today Theresa Mayhem (Kim's TM) was on some BBC morning show with her husband talking about who takes the trash out (such a pressing issue for people to find out about) and extolling the principles and virtues she has received thanks to growing up in a vicarage :rotfl:  Once again The Church topic somehow sneaks its ugly head into the discussion, surprise surprise. As if having that as a background makes you automatically a good person or a well-intentioned leader

If they're attempting to humanise the Maybot with those kind of interviews on the BBC (Biased Broadcasing Corp.) then they failed. Still comes across as awkward, cold and humourless as ever. Middle England will love it though.

I really don't think that those who advocated leaving the EU had a notion of the potential mayhem they were causing to those with aspirations to work abroad, and to those from outside the British Isles who have settled here with their families. Knowing many of these families I know how unsettling this is.

One DUP politician said that he "just wanted to be out of the EU!" Selfish and shortsighted with the ring of jingoism about it.

The regulatory frameworks will continue largely unaltered, but will will have lost the power to regulate. How clever is that?

What makes you think the racists and xenophobes who voted for Brexit give a shit about any of that? The only thing they might possibly be annoyed about is their summer holiday to the Costa Brava costing a bit more, or getting no duty free on their cigs and vodka. They don't have a fucking clue. like brainwashed drones.

The attack was global. This time it's not about Russia but organised mafias that ask for a ransom after they hijack computers and servers.  They took control yesterday of Movistar,  the most important telephone company in Spain.

Anyway, running a country's IT infrastructure on Windows XP and not applying security updates.... is anyone even surprised?
