Another bona fide classic - Rapture. Everything about it was before it's time.

She was so cool without even trying

PJ, I love that song. Disturbing lyrics but totally brilliant.

I loved Island of lost souls. Contained some mis-heard lyrics that I always used to sing. I wondered why it was not controversial because I thought she was singing " O'h fucking near" but found out lately she was saying "O'h buccaneer"

My favorite Heart of Glass version is the Disco one (not the demo) - you can tell the difference with the album version after "...If I fear I'm losing you it's just no good..."

How it was originally named

Which one do you prefer?

PJ, feel awful saying this in a Blondie appreciation thread but prefer Randy and the Rainbows's version. Love Blondie but never really liked that song.

Disco version is my favourite as well. What an amazing song, I think it is my favourite Blondie song.

It is indeed an amazing song, very much down to how Debbie sings it particularly the opening line imo, the electro-disco flavor, the tight rhythm, it's a magical winning combination. Years ago I watched a docu about Blondie, Debbie said how the mainstream success brought by Heart of Glass caused disdain from Blondie's New Wave/Punk peers who were, at the time, regarding Blondie as a sellout band. That's always the problem with alternative, non-mainstream musicians.
