Rosa Parks is buried right across the street and there are unbelievably huge mansions there called Palmer Park and they aint cheap. On the side of the road the hookers were on though is bad. Like a war zone on the residential streets. It's right near 6 mile where M went to the clubs back in the day. Lots of businesses on 8 Mile, working class and a Popeyes! It's my understanding Eminem lived around 8 1/2 Mile & Van Dyke. It's fun to drive around there at night. Good restaurants (pure junk food) thats bustling with activity. Van Dyke is locally iconic... but not because of Eminem or anything. More for the auto industry. Very 60s in architecture, no new development. One of the most dangerous intersections in Detroit area is right there... because of high traffic, not crime. Sorry I know you asked about 8 Mile but it's really just a stereotype, thanks to Eminem. Its the Detroit border that's all. I show people around Detroit, friends, and they always wanna see it lol.
