2016 American Presidential Thread

Recommended Posts

I think it might be sour grapes. Some people don't like backing a loser and some people try so hard to be controversial. The latter is especially sad.

Speaking of which remember the time when you used to go to Iceland Supermaket to buy frozen large grapes and insert them in your anus like anal beeds?

Raves For First Lady’s DNC Speech [VIDEO]

From the Chicago Tribune:

Three sentences. That’s all it took for First Lady Michelle Obama to eviscerate the central theme of Donald Trump’s presidential campaign. “Don’t let anyone ever tell you that this country is not great,” Obama said on the first night of the Democratic National Convention. “That somehow we need to make it great again. Because this right now is the greatest country on Earth.”

This was the wife of America’s first black president sharing the wonder of seeing her daughters, “two beautiful, intelligent black young women,” playing on the White House lawn. This was a strong, successful woman celebrating, with a parent’s emotion, how her kids, as Hillary Clinton receives the Democratic nomination, will “now take for granted that a woman can be president of the United States.”

Trump has only one direction: low. And he’s going low when he promises to make America great again. Michelle Obama showed us that Monday night. This was a speech that revealed a truth Americans need to acknowledge. Make America Great Again is a pithy political slogan. And it’s an affront to anyone whose America is greater now than it ever has been.

Utah Pol Bolts GOP After RNC: Party's Direction ‘Makes Me Want To Cry’

mkckby9muuew86mpahle.jpg

A Utah state senator announced that he was leaving the GOP in despair after attending the Republican National Committee last week.

Sen. Mark Madsen (R-UT) said Monday that his experience as a Utah delegate confirmed all of his concerns about the future of the party.

"Every decision and inclination I had before was reinforced," Madsen said in a press conference where he announced he would become a Libertarian, according to the Salt Lake Tribune.

Madsen, a three term senator from District 13, supported Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) and was disappointed by convention-goers booing Cruz off stage when he urged Republicans to vote their conscience.

Like Cruz, Madsen seems himself as a strict constitutional conservative and believes that “the scales tipped” away in the Republican Party from an emphasis on states’ rights and entitlement reform.

The current direction of the party, he said Monday, "makes me want to cry."

“I've invested a lot in that party,” Madsen said, according to the Tribune.

The Utah senator will retire at the end of this year and acknowledged that his announcement was “largely symbolic.”

Overall, 46% of registered voters say Kaine is an excellent or good choice, narrowly above the 43% who said so about Donald Trump's selection of Indiana Gov. Mike Pence in a CNN/ORC poll conducted July 14-16. Among Democrats, 63% call Kaine a good choice, including 66% of liberal Democrats and 58% of moderate or conservative Democrats.

35% of Democrats said they believed the party was united, 40% that it would unite by November and 24% that it would remain divided through the election. That represents more unity than the Democrats had heading into their 2008 convention

The Manhattan billionaire trails the former secretary of state by just a single point, 45 percent to 46 percent, according to an NBC News/Survey Monkey online poll released Tuesday morning. Those numbers are unchanged from last week’s data.

NORTH CAROLINA: Trump Rally Crowd Cheers As Gov. Pat McCrory Mocks Transgender Rights [VIDEO]

McCroryTrump-660x330.jpg

The Washington Post reports:

As North Carolina Gov. Pat McCrory ® was introduced, an announcer for the campaign praised him for boosting the state’s economy, even though later in the night, Trump would say that he has three pages of statistics showing that the state is not doing well economically and would benefit from his proposed trade policies and job-creation promises. McCrory took the stage and immediately started acting like a flight attendant.

“All right, let’s be safe now. We’ve got a big crowd, so if you need to leave suddenly, we’ve got exits this way, exits this way and exits this way,” McCrory said, motioning straight ahead, to his right and to his left. “And if any of you need to use the restrooms …”

McCrory paused as the crowd of several thousand laughed and cheered his reference to legislation passed earlier this year that requires individuals to use the restroom that matches the gender they were born with, not the one they identify with. McCrory waited for the applause to die down, then continued. “And if you have any questions, go to the Philadelphia convention where all of the Democrats are,” McCrory said as the crowd again cheered.

an we all bet yet to put Money on Michelle running in 8 years time???

Michelle is amazing, but I don't see her running for political office. I think she will continue her campaigns to help women and children, and to encourage healthy eating and exercise in a more non-partisan way. Politics is a dirty business, I don't think she wants any part of actually running for office, and who can blame her!

‘Freedom Kids’ Who Performed At Trump Rally Are Suing Him For Screwing Them Over

by Thomas Anderson

The creator of the terrifying, pro-Trump viral sensation “USA Freedom Kids” is now planning to sue Donald Trump. Who couldn’t see this one coming?

If you’re not remembering exactly who the Freedom Kids are, the picture below will help you remember. This is an image from Trump’s Pensacola Florida rally where his own personal Hitler Youth “Freedom Kids,” decked out in flag costumes and dancing to some weird techno mashup of a ripoff of the song “Over There.”

maxresdefault.jpg?resize=500%2C281

As these pre-teen girls were singing about “enemies of freedom” and cheering for the death of our enemies, the nation was frozen in horrific fascination. Soon, footage of the girls was everywhere and they were the new big thing on social media.

The Trump campaign secured the services of the Freedom Kids, with promises of both promotion at Trump events and media exposure and access at Trump events to help take their brand nationwide. Take a guess how that turned out.

Fast forward to today. Jeff Popick, father of the smallest Freedom Kid, and author of “Freedom’s Call,’ which was the song they performed at the Trump rally, told the Washington Post that he’s suing Donald Trump for violating the agreement he made with his group.

Popick first contacted then-campaign manager Corey Lewandowski to see if he could perform for Trump. An agreement was reached for 2 performances, where the compensation to the act would be a table that they could pre-sell albums at, during the rally.

When they arrived there was no table. Popick described the rally as “complete chaos,” and indicated that they made no attempt to compensate them for their performance in any way.

After a long bout of trying to contact the campaign about alternate compensation meeting with no results, Popick made another huge mistake. He trusted Trump a second time.

In an unreal turn of events, Trump’s campaign called Popick again asking him to perform at a Des Moines rally for Trump. The campaign apparently forget they already screwed the guy over on a previous occasion.

They were not going to pay Popick, but offered compensation in “exposure” at the huge rally. Implications were made that Popick would have media access and be able to get his act huge publicity on a nationwide stage.

Popick packed up the kids, their gear, and took an immediate flight from Florida to Chicago. There, he rented a car and drove the rest of the way to Iowa and the rally. Once there, he realized the horrible, horrible mistake he had made … again.

When it came time for his media exposure, Popick was quarantined by Trump. He was informed that there was a “change of plans.” Popick would be seated within arms-reach of the press box at the Trump rally, but he was not allowed to speak to the press or allowed to be in pictures. The girls were invited to attends the rally, which they did in their uniforms, but they never performed.

Are you feeling bad for this guy yet? Popick lamented the fact that he “had to be a real jerk” to the press. They were begging for comments, pictures, stories, or whatever they could get and Popick had to sit there and give none of it. The exposure he was promised was another lie by Trump.

Not only were the Freedom Kids denied their promised compensation, but Popick was on the hook for a lot of money. The Freedom Kids paid for their own transportation and lodging during the trip to Iowa. In short, they got royally screwed.

After another long period of trying “again and again and again” to sort this out with the Trump campaign, he ended up filing a lawsuit to get compensation for time, effort and money spent along with restitution for compensation that was not given to him.

Popick had this to say:

“We are owed compensation or, as the agreement is, a performance. That’s what the agreement was. In lieu of compensation, in lieu of monetary compensation, that we would have this performance. It was largely a verbal contract, but a contract nonetheless and on two different occasions.”

Hopefully this poor guy doesn’t perform for them a third time.

Why didn't Michelle run for the presidency :(

If a total douchebag like Bush junior or scrag like Hilary can get in due to family connections ( not necessarily qualifications ) Michelle should have run. The woman has more grace, sensibility and style in her pinky finger then Hilary or Trump will have in their lifetimes. Or is America not ready for a black female president just yet...? at least she's straight ;)

How are we supposed to take anything you say seriously when you say ignorant stuff like that? Hillary may have her flaws but to claim she is only there because of family connections and lacks qualification is the most ridiculous thing ever. Not even her worst opponents would say such things. Go and teach yourself about Hillarys vita!
