2016 American Presidential Election

I supported Bernie from the start so I felt I needed to stay true and vote for him in the primary today.

That being said, yes its impossible for him to win on any level. Him wanting to go after the super delegates just looks like a fools errand and sadly makes him look silly also. I mean the voters have spoken and Hillary has so far gotten 3 million more votes, so lets be real Bernie. Wrap it up. Join forces with Hillary and Obama, and defeat this clown in November!!!!!!!!!!!!

Everyone here has known since a few months ago that Hillary was going to secure the nomination. It was only a matter of time.

You guys are acting just as ridiculous (with your weird personal attacks and YASSSSSSS's) as the Bernie fans who still thought he had a chance a week ago.

U.S. politics are a fucking mess. It's everyone against everyone. So much hate, confusion, manipulation...

I just hope that Bernie has influence over Hillary. Real influence. In the 90's, Hillary believed in single payer healthcare (which was IMPOSSIBLE at the time - I give her credit for WANTING it). I hope that Bernie lights a fire under her ass to fight for issues like that in this new age when they are more attainable.

What makes you think it's possible now? The GOP will likely hold onto the House (even with Trump burning their party to cinders) and they're never going to vote for it. Single payer health care isn't coming until we have another economic crash and it gives full Congressional and Presidential control to the Democratic party.

Even if Bernie had won, we wouldn't be getting it. The fruits of this election will be Supreme Court nominations and executive orders. We might get immigration reform too if the GOP is scared enough. That's it.

I started this race liking Bernie and Hillary pretty equally. I grew up in Vermont and had met Bernie several times and I always respected him and, as someone who thinks of myself as a progressive, I believed in his ideals and his vision. Now, living in NYC, I had the opportunity to work at Hillary's campaign HQ in Brooklyn and jumped at the chance, by then mostly because I thought it would be a cool opportunity and look great on my resume. Still at this point, I liked Bernie a lot and remember being offended by the few co-workers who would make jokes at his expense. As time went, though, and after I got to know Hillary personally and the people close to her, I really saw how completely misunderstood she is and how passionate and hardworking and driven she really is.

However, as this campaign has gone on I've come to see that Bernie doesn't care about the Democratic Party, and I'm not even sure that he cares so much about defeating Trump. He cares so much about his own a message, a message that's really good but in practice, unachievable. The fact that he's willing to bring this race to the convention and further split this party and further allow vitriol and sexism and misogyny to be hurled at Hillary and further add fuel to Trump's fire, disgusts me. I've never felt so far apart from my peers. It's so divided on our side of the party and I HATE seeing that. This is a moment we should all be celebrating, a historic moment, and we should all be coming together to defeat evil in November. Yet, we're dealing with this fucking bullshit. I've gone from having an immense amount of respect for Bernie to having very little. He's hijacked this party and is set to destroy it. Congratulations.

Did you just read the headline? According to that article, besides trying desperately to get an extra 2 delegates in Nevada, He did ansolutely nothing wrong but get on everyone's bad side in the Democratic Party.

Hillary has done WAY WORSE to Mexico. And she's done way worse to Honduras. I've posted about it here and nobody gives a shit. Everyone skips it. None of you give a shit about one of your business allies. Don't pretend you care. You only care when Trump says he's going to do something like build a wall, part of which already exists thanks to people like Hillary.

Sheep

Don't

Care.

And for what it's worth, even though I stopped following Bernie Sanders shortly after I voted for him way back in March in the Democrats Abroad primaries and mostly just mentioned him to piss you Clinton supporters off, I think it's absolutely admirable and badass that an unknown man has not only been a huge thorn in Clinton's side, but was able to secure so many delegates and get so many popular votes, despite, like that article says, having no support from his party whatsoever. Everyone turned on him, including all of his allies in the Senate and House.

If you guys can't see the positive and inspiring side of a Socialist almost clinching the Democratic nomination and becoming a household name in the country within a few months, all in the U.S., a country where people are more closed-minded, misinformed and apprehensive than ever before, then whatever. Your loss.

This is me with all my faggot "Mexican" "chicano" friends (those people who will wave the Mexican flag before the U.S. flag even though they were born in the U.S. and know nothing about Mexico besides a relative or two that lives here) who are in virtual tears today because Clinton 2.0 won

They clearly knew nothing about what was going on in the primaries and are just happy that all that inconvenient mumbo jumbo is all behind them now and FINALLY THE U.S. WILL SEE A FEMALE PRESIDENT

It's just so stupid. They don't shut up about being offended by Trump because they're soooo Mexican and then I just say "um, do you know what Hillary has done, the legislation she's helped pass, the really nasty shit she pressured the Mexican government into passing while Secretary of State" and they're just like "WELL SHE'S BETTER THAN TRUMP"
