I just bought his greatest hits and i am shocked that he is the singer of When doves cry....

Its really a masterpiece and sad hes gone.

I´m afraid a lot of people are going to be like you...discovering him when he is not here anymore.I´m sure people are buying the GHs thinking about purle rain, or kiss, and suddenly they are discovering he had a lot of hits as good as these ones, and a lot of wonderful albums!

I did not, there really is an unreleased version called Chatounette Control....the female singer singing it is so moody it's funny, i think it was in the Versace mix. I have to check if i still have it somewhere.

Listening to his Oakland Piano & Microphone show. Damn. They need to release a CD of one of these shows from 2016. It's incredible! The quality of Oakland is a lot better than Atlanta btw.

If anyone wants it and all the other bootlegs PM me...

Did the funeral service already take place??

Yes, he was cremated the following Tuesday after his death I think? It was very quick and didn't really get reported which I think was odd.

What was his cause of death? There rumors saying he died from complications from HIV/AIDS. :(

Those are the rumours that were coming up in the blind items but everything official seems to point towards accidental drug overdose of painkillers that he was addicted to that he was using for a hip injury from 2010. He'd made several trips to different pharmacies in the week before for the drugs.

He had a memorial service on the Saturday after his death in line with Jehovah witness traditions which was hosted by his family at Paisley Park. His sister Tyka posted a statement to say that was not his official funeral as his remains weren't present. his ex wives hosted a memorial in LA last week which had a few of his celeb pals there. Then last Saturday his local Kingdom Hall had a service there that had all his church people there and his band. But there will be a public memorial in August for the fans which will be his official funeral.

I was about to say, I hope they would have some kind of event that would go out with a bang and done justice. He deserves it. MJs funeral was replayed on tv for an entire month. Prince should have the same treatment.

I wonder what they'll do with the 50 pages or so of the autobiography he was writing. There's been quite a few articles about "what to do now with it." Maybe they'll include it in some official biography.

He was writing it with someone else, maybe they'll finish it? Still can't believe he's gone. I'm expecting to read he's doing a secret line of gigs somewhere :(

Well it depends what the writings cover. It is such a shame it wasn't finished before he died, it would have been a very interesting to read.

The self-centred overrated clown is consistent with his douchery and lack of taste

Gene Simmons on Prince: 'How Pathetic That He Killed Himself'

Following a controversial spat with N.W.A over the rap group's induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Gene Simmons is not holding back on his feelings about Prince, claiming his death was "a choice."

"Bowie was the most tragic of all because it was real sickness," the Kiss member told Newsweek. "[Prince's] drugs killed him. What do you think, he died from a cold?"
Prince's autopsy results were inconclusive and still awaiting a full toxicology report. The musician was reported to have painkillers on hand though it has not been confirmed by a medical examiner whether or not an overdose was what killed him. There were reports, however, that an addiction specialist had made the 911 call that led to the discovery of his body at Paisley Park. Prince was supposed to meet with the specialist the day he was found.
"I think Prince was heads, hands and feet about all the rest of them," Simmons continued. "I thought he left [Michael] Jackson in the dust. Prince was way beyond that. But how pathetic that he killed himself. Don't kid yourself, that's what he did. Slowly, I'll grant you … but that's what drugs and alcohol is: a slow death."
Paul Stanley apologized for his bandmate's comments via Twitter, stating that he is "embarrassed" by Simmons' "cold clueless statements" about Prince's death. "Without all the facts better to say nothing."
Simmons, who claims to have never been high or drunk in his life, recalled meeting Prince early in the late star's career, having taken his then-girlfriend Diana Ross to see him before he became popular. "Backstage when we came up to say 'You were great,' we were expecting this huge personality and he was a very small, slight human being. He might have been five-foot-four, very shy, with his eyes to the ground, very self-effacing. He just couldn't take a compliment: 'Thank, thank you.' He spoke in a whisper. It was shocking actually. He couldn't look Diana Ross in the face — he kept his eyes to the ground."
Simmons wrapped his thoughts on Prince with a reflection on what led to alleged addiction. "The one question I have is: When we all start out and we have these big dreams and you finally get your wish — you have more money than God and fame — what is that insane gene in us, well, a lot of us, that makes us want to succumb to the cliché of clichés: drugs and alcohol?"

Are you saying you’ve never dabbled yourself?
I’ve never been high or drunk in my life. :rotfl::rotfl: I have to validate that: Except in a dentist’s chair where they knock you out. I’ve never been high or drunk. I don’t care if anybody believes it or not. It’s just a personal life choice. I can almost understand drinking or getting high if it made my schmeckel bigger, or made me smarter, but nothing happens.
Do the purported circumstances around Prince’s death hurt his legacy?
No. Your legacy becomes even bigger, you become more iconic, if you die before your time—Marilyn Monroe, Elvis and all that. They capture the youth.
