I must say I've got tears in my eyes. Such a legend of music. A genius. That voice. I regret not seeing him live in concert.

Shocked is the word when I heard about this. RIP to a true star and man of artistic integrity. My favorite song by him is China Girl, I just listened to it about a week ago.

Also, condolences to Iman and his family.

This is horrible, I had no idea he was sick. A terrible loss indeed. He was genius.

Thank you for lighting up at least my mood - yes, his humor was legendary too. Love this, thank you for reminding me of this clip.

I am still in shock... :/

It's just too much to take in for one day. :( Love all the Niles Rodgers productions...I wonder if Let's Dance was part of what inspired Madonna to want to work with him on Like a Virgin ?

The only two albums I don't have from him are Tonight and Never Let Me Down. The rest, I owe and love every single one of them.

Toy, his unreleased album that leaked in 2011 is also great.

Toy?

Toy is an album by the British rock musician David Bowie, recorded for release in 2001, and leaked onto the Internet in 2011. Although Bowie had begun recording the album intending to feature new versions of some of his earliest pieces as well as three new songs, its sessions led him to Heathen (2002) and it was never released officially.

Note: This is the track listing of the version of the album leaked in 2011, which is rumored to be different than the originally intended version.

"Uncle Floyd" โ€“ 6:15

"Afraid" โ€“ 3:29

"Baby Loves That Way" โ€“ 4:38

"I Dig Everything" โ€“ 4:53

"Conversation Piece" โ€“ 3:53

"Let Me Sleep Beside You" โ€“ 3:14

"Toy (Your Turn to Drive)" โ€“ 4:46

"Hole in the Ground" โ€“ 3:30

"Shadow Man" โ€“ 4:41

"In the Heat of the Morning" โ€“ 3:51

"You've Got a Habit of Leaving" โ€“ 4:49

"Silly Boy Blue" โ€“ 5:33

"Liza Jane" โ€“ 4:48

"The London Boys" โ€“ 3:47

This is so sad. Yet another TRUE musical icon gone. He was as genius as it can get in terms of artistry. I'm really sorry for his family as well, we can all guess how much of a hell it must be for them at the moment, especially Iman and their children.

A big kiss to the fans here as well - I'm sure it must be heartbreaking knowing one of your favorite artists is no longer with us.
