Finally, Enya releases her long awaited album, Dark Sky Island, today. It's been 7 years since her last studio album, And Winter Came...

There are some good songs like Even In the Shadows and The Loxian Gates (Loxian is her invented language.)

PS I just found out today. What a flop fan!

I loved the Watermark album. Nothing after that interested me.

I like Enya, beautiful and moody music :-) yes, nothing has really changed in her music... since the beginning... but it's still amazing :-)

Whenever I have a facial ( pure bliss ) they always play Enya's music. So peaceful and relaxing. Not sure if I would listen to it at home myself, but always enjoy hearing it at the beauty salon

I remember loving "Paint The Sky With Stars." First Time I heard her I think is when VH1 played the heck out of "Orinoco Flow" I think it's called. I also love that I heard she lives in a castle.

She is an artist I should know more about than I do. I love her voice and trippy ambient music.

This is how her voice sounds live... got the same impression when I heard Lana's vocals. Love their music but they're definitely studio singers (in the best sense of the word :p)

I lost her after A Day Without Rain but I would give this new one a chance

Same here. This album is less repetitive though, but the lyrics are still the same - rain, home, stars, sky, clouds, shore, her same old formula. I think it's time to get rid of her lyricist, Roma Ryan.

shepherd moons and watermark are masterpieces!!!!

I'd add The Celts to the list as well. It was so fucking haunting when I listened to it at night. Don't expect any of those with this album though.

Another Enya stan here!! Even when I love her too I still think her best albums are her first four (Celts, Watermark, Shepherd Moons and Memory Of Trees) after that she's just repeated it all over again. When I clicked on the link for the Oscars May It Be performance I remembered this masterpiece too I had forgotten:

Astra Et Luna is a beautiful track. I love how she's able to sing in many languages, even one of them isn't translatable.

Cursum Perficio, Pax Deorum, La SoƱadora, Afer Ventus, Smaointe and Sumiregusa are my favorite non-English tracks.

They must mean richest female in British/Irish music history.

All the stuff about being a recluse who never leaves her castle is true.

Apparently she's got a really nasty coke habit. Like 70s era Bowie bad...
