What was wrong with "Hard Candy" anyway?!

Give It 2 Me, Beat Goes On, and Heartbeat are inspiring songs for me especially the lyrics, very energetic too.

Miles Away made me cry a numerous times and it's a very sad song. I can say it's the penultimate song on the album, our Queen accepting the dissolution of her marriage while trying to put up a strong front (I'm alright. Don't be sorry but it's true. When I'm gone, you'll realise I was the best thing that happened to you). As far as the criticism of her "bored" voice in this track, I never got it. She sounded like she gave up on saving their marriage and just accepted the fact it's gone for good. It's the perfect emotion for the song.

I would like to discuss the MDNA tracks but we're talking about HC.

And yes, Candy Shop always makes me feel raw, sticky, and sweet. Thank you.

Well, maybe it's us. You know, some regular people don't feel connected to Rebel Heart at all. I'm sometimes surprised when i read some comment in Facebook saying that the album is bad and all that. Other fans here don't seem to connect with Living For Love.

So maybe there's nothing wrong with HC and MDNA, simply we are in other frequency and Madonna was in another and we met again with RH.

The thing that irritated me most about HC haters back then is how they tried to make it seem like Madonna was practically held at gun point by WB (because she REALLY wanted to work with PSB of course ) to passionlessly caw out the album just to get a hit...lol. Instead of just simply saying they don't like it because they don't connect with it for whatever reason. There is nothing wrong with disliking an album by her, but don't pin it on her by saying she was a soulless robot recording the album. That's insulting to her as an artist to suggest she would half-ass an album and actually release it even if she weren't happy with it. That completely goes against everything she's about.

Thank you! As if Madonna (Queen of the Universe) will let WB fully dictate her artistic choices.

Alright, now we're coming into my area of expertise.

The pink candy swirl says it all. Especially since she's sitting with her legs spread. Pud is right. It symbolizes her sticky, sweet, raw, throbbing, hot, wet pu**y.

It's her dirtiest album cover. But most people are sheep and they don't get it.

I love this cover so much.

Well, I'm not as enthusiastic about the album cover as some of you are! I actually think there are some fan-made ones that are better. Case in point:

This is absolutely HORRIBLE!

Doesn't fuck the brain, at all. I would fire you immediately with security escorting you out the building. :rotfl:

Never interpreted the album cover this way (it takes me awhile sometimes, I swear), but now of course I love it even MORE.

i remember people being so disappointed with the promo shows. first time i saw M fans angry. the livestream showed her in that trainer outfit and those arm socks if I'm not mistaken.. i liked 4 mins and remember it got a pretty good reception. just not with some of those coadf fans

For me, former N Sync star, Kanye West (barrrrrrrrrrrf) and later in life Timbaland isn't the best Madonna can do. The album was fun and had Give it to Me which is like the greatest upbeat pop song ever, but it's just so meh.

I mean, I just rather hear Madonna sing about shooting Guy in the head, that piece of shit taking all of her damn money, golden showers, her re-Vulva and making a Francis Bacon painting come to life instead of hearing her sing about saving the world through a cute little 4-minute ditty with Justin Timberlake, of all people. And how about that Spanish Lesson? I mean, I already speak Spanish, thank you very much.

And then the gyms, which are still being heavily promoted here, btw, and those DVD's with weird (and kind of annoying) candy-related innuendos. It felt like Madonna Corporation, Ltd. or something.

Really ? It was awesome at the Olympia in Paris. I'm gay and i couldn't take my off her smooth milky white breasts. And those boots are everything. It was too short though but it was just a FREE apetizer for sTicky & Sweet after all.

There was so much I didnt like about that time - the cheeks, the lazy and confusing art direction, the terrible videos (i think all the videos actually took away from the songs rather than added to them), and for me that was the start of the real heavy ageism in the press and GP.

But the music is great. i really dont get people who think it was shallow, or she wasnt really in the songs ... some of her best songs in ages, and she clearly still loves them. if only CS was a single, and heartbeat and she's not me. and when i first heard incredible!

I love that story about how she was visibly upset when none of the Warner execs wanted Candy Shop as the first single

The cover is perfect, visually and conceptually. Changing it in any way would just ruin it. Though I really wish she got Terry Richardson to shoot the pics instead

I can't imagine my life if I didn't like one of Madonna's albums. I hate to be "that person," and I don't feel like I'm blinded by my love for her. I just genuinely love every single album.

Faves from HC are GI2M, Heartbeat, MA, SNM, DWRY (all time Madonna top 20), and Voices.
