I would never use that word to describe the Ghosttown video. I think it's right up there with her best.I love the scenes when she's looking in the mirror and kissing her mother's picture, and the parts where she's walking through the wreckage and playing on the abandoned playground. I find the few seconds where she's trying to call from the phone booth and falls to the ground really powerful. I do agree with you that her outfits and the style are great as well! Tier 2 - Great Living For Love - Dark, moody and awesome Bitch I'm Madonna - Fun, flirty and fabulous. Love the long takes. Give Me All Your Luvin' - The song is subpar, but the video is fantastic. Love the campy, 50s musical feel to it. Girl Gone Wild - Subpar song, super stylish video Tier 3 - Good Ghosttown - Nicely shot, but nothing that memorable. Madonna the Victorian Vampire Slayer was a great look though. Get Together - I love the animation. My acid trips look like this. Tier 4 - Okay 4 Minutes - Nice concept but for a song about urgency, it feels surprisingly torpid. And that cream-coloured corset/bustier was UGLY Turn Up The Radio - She hardly ever does location videos so it's nice to see her outdoors. Average song, average video. Sorry - Jamie King should not direct videos. In fact, Jamie King should stay far, far away from Madonna. Tier 5 - Lazy Give It 2 Me - Could have been and should have been a boxing-themed video instead of a fashion shoot rehash Jump - The parkour moves were cool, but she looks like she spent all of 5 minutes doing her bit Celebration - Paint-by-numbers. The last video that was truly exciting wasn't even officially released (American Life). Most of her videos in the past 10 years look like outlines and ideas of what can be good videos. This is when I started thinking she may as well release live videos instead, because they have what the videos lack of. 1- Bitch I'm Madonna - it's colorful and fun (shhh!!!!- reminds me of Girls Just Wanna Have Fun) 2- Ghosttown - she looks amazing! 3- Living for Love - love how this is the live performance interpreted as a video 4- Girl Gone Wild - even though I don't like B&W videos, I loved seeing her SEX book long hair extensions resurface and come to life 5- Give me All Your Luvin' - fun! fun! fun! The rest of these except * and ** are far better off LIVE. MDNA/RH outrank Confessions and HC (when it comes to videos). RH is her best video era since AL. Living For Love is Living For LIFE! It still slays me daily.
