"NO FAT C*NTS ALLOWED IN MY PRESENCE": Madonna's DIVA BEHAVIOR

Who I can't say. Why? Well.. You can imagine how she is an 'inconvenience' to some people...

"Inconvenience" in the same kind of way she's always been?? Basically just being her "unconventional" self and not acting like she "should"? Has this "campaign" been going for some time or has it been "amped up" in recent times? Is the ultimate goal to basically ruin her career??

Sorry to ask so many questions. :)

I don't think there's some plot or unorganized campaign to discredit her. It's just the general hostility society has towards strong older women who are in control of their lives that comes out in the media.

These tossers (mostly horrible old men and women who look ten wars older than M but are twenty years younger) are just bitter she carries on and doesn't give a fuck , hasn't ha a breakdown, has no issues and is just her

I agree completely! She's not sorry, and she pushes on harder than ever. All she has to do is some sit down and a boohoo session to the world, but she refuses to victimize herself. A quality that stands out, and why she is MADONNA!!

In the bubble I choose to live in, Madonna would never use "fat cunt" as a derogatory slur. It is no different from ethnic slurs or offending remarks based on shaming a person for their sexual or gender orientation. Fat shaming is an acute issue in our society – as evidenced by some posts in this very thread – and I hope Madge is above that. Rant over.

I actually feel differently than most here. I am not a conspiracy theorist by any stretch of the imagination but the intense hatred for Madonna has been going on since she first appeared. I kept scrapbooks on my favourite stars as a child and later on was amazed at just how horrible the press was towards Madonna. Most of the stuff was negative and they were always predicting she would never last. With the other stars, mainly praise and love. The Herald sun ( Murdoch rag in Melbourne ) had so many vicious articles about her from the 80's onwards. It always seemed personal to me, just so over the top in the vitriol.

I used to be offended by the word cunt, until I realized in England it's a common slang word used to describe foolish people or stupid people of any gender. British people use it more in relation to guys than they do women.

So it's not really on the same level as an ethnic or homophobic slur, it's just a general derogatory term.

I think he was referring more to the fat shaming issue than to the cunting issue.

He was referring to both, I thought. I agree with the fat shaming thing to a certain extent. But he mentioned slur and said it was equivalent to racial and sexual orientation slurs so I thought he was also referring to cunt.

But being in shape is a requirement to be a dancer also. I don't think people should be criticized for their weight unless it's a requirement for doing your job. Certain jobs like athletes and dancers, being in shape and being a certain weight is relevant to what it is you are supposed to be doing.

I totally agree with this. And now everyone is using "fat cunt" everywhere on this forum like it's the funniest thing ever.

Well I was born and raised in England and hate that term. Only vulgur and crass people use it which I assume is world over. I wouldn't say it's common here at all. A fight broke out on the tube because a man called another man it yesterday evening.

I guess it depends on context? Madonna said in an interview that she was offended at first, but people in England use it jokingly as a term of affection. I've heard a lot of British musicians and celebrities use it jokingly in interviews so I thought it was a common thing in England. Maybe I'm wrong.

Yeah because Madonna was hanging around fake wannabe hard boys like Guy Ritchie. They use words like cunt or poof between friends but wouldn't be caught dead

Are cunt and poof on the same level though? I think poof is much worse, more specifically against gay people. Where cunt is used not just against women but in relation to guys too. I've read a lot of British musicians say it in interviews and they aren't all wannabe gangsters like Guy!

I don't like the p.c. banning of certain words. I think context is important.

Seriously though maybe it is more common here but people are still shocked to hear it and you would get knocked out for using it near some people

I only compared to poof because Christopher Ciccone said Guy and his mates were calling each other poofs at the wedding. Obviously Madonna was around them at the time. Wannabe cockneys.

Can't believe music publications would really print that word in an interview in the first place.

I would only call someone a cunt if that person warrants it. But I have never called anyone that to people's faces, it's just very unpleasant and I wouldn't want a fight.

I thought it was kind of like bitch. That's printed in magazines all the time even though it could be seen as misogynistic. Bitch can be used in a hostile way or in a teasing affectionate way. I kind of thought cunt was sort of the same.

To be fair, a disturbing thing from that Christopher book is that poof thing. Madonna being so tolerant and being reduced to some chick who hung out with those stupid brats who used intollerant things.

the other disturbing thing from that book was that she could be that stingy with her own family. I'm not saying i believe the brother, but it was not pleasant to read it

And to be fair, the thing that really stucked in my mind was that chris had to dry the sweat on her breasts, hahahaha. I found that incredibly servile.

Christopher should be lucky to wipe the holy sweat from Madonnas breasts :lmao:

He was very contradictory though because in one part of the book he said he's never seen her naked and she doesn't walk around without any clothes on yet says he used to wipe her sweat from her boobs. I dunno with Christopher

I don't see her as being stingy with her family at all. She earnt that money through hard graft, blood, sweat and tears. She was raped for fuck sake, lived in squalor, ate out of garbage cans, worked shit jobs and was often homeless and alone and I dare say scared out of her wits often times. There was no American Idol or Svengali figure, she got where she got by herself, dancing with Pearl Lang, learning to play instruments, writing her own music and composing it with Stephen Bray in shitty, run down flea and coach roach infested dives then used her femininity to lure DJ's to play her tracks and introduce her to the people who could make things happen for her. We know now that Warners never believed in her and expected nothing but a few minor pop hits and look how that turned out.

That woman tirelessly worked her ass off to get to where she got and her family have no right to expect handouts from her. Her fortune was hard fought and earned and she is entitled to do whatever she wants to do to with it. What is it with her fucking family? Just because they had a famous and rich sister meant the majority of her brothers and sisters didn't seek out success on their own accord or make the most of their lives, bar the case of Melanie or Paula in the very early days before she went to work with Silvio in the vineyard that MADONNA BOUGHT FOR HIM. She also paid Martin's rehab bills and helped launch Christopher's short lived career which could have been successful in its own right if he wasnt a drug abuser with his head rammed so hard up his own bloody ass he could never see outside of the box Madonna created for him. She also financially assisted her grandmother in her dying days and ensured she was comfortable.

Hell if my family held their hands out the way Madonna's family did so arrogantly and expectantly, I wouldn't be very generous with my money either.

Fuck them all!

I don't think Madonna and her family have ever been close while growing up. She said it was very competitive between her and her siblings, her relationship to Joan was bad, and she rebelled against her father, while grieving her mother. The death of her mother probably drove all of them apart instead of closer. I'm sure she's taken care of her family well over the years, without being overly generous as one would be with people they feel very close to. Just because someone is your sibling doesn't mean you are close to that person. At all. She's probably more generous with some non relatives in her life than with some relatives, which is totally normal.
