Rebel Heart DEMO appreciation

Recommended Posts

The demo version has that certain anthemic feel to it, but it surprisingly didn't blow me away anymore when I listened to it again after a few months.

The album version, however, gives me life! Love the distorted drums as well, adding that extra oomph!

Is this the demo that some rave about being so much better than the album version?

I hear a few nice things not on the album mix, but this demo is hardly a dramatic change. :)

Obviously, as a dance track, the "Wash All Over Me" demo is a lot different from the album version- but I find the ballad version to be more effective.

omg how come those were madonnas vocals????? i love her vocals on it

my head's fucked up now. i loved the demo :p or maybe because of the low quality it sounded so charming and great. but those song so much like M's vocals.. maybe she sang it one time.. the quality of the song (in terms of pop quality, not the sound quality) is so much higher and interesting than that indigo shit

I finally heard the infamous RH demo, probably the last person in the known world to do so.

The album version has been an all time favorite of mine since its release. I can't help but think that we are partial to what we hear first, which would explain many people's disappointment with the album version. Conversely, it explains why I am underwhelmed by this demo that everyone has raved about.

The one thing that is cool is that her vocal on the demo is in a different register than that of the album version, and I love both of them.

However, I greatly prefer the album version which focuses on that fantastic melody. Some say the beats of the Avicci demo enhance the melody, but to my ears it was all too much.

The album version remains one of my all time Madonna faves.

What a great era with so many treats for everyone.

No it's not. The song is in the same key.

And tbh I think a fair portion of it is the exact same vocal take. It sounds different cos it's mixed differently and maybe some pitch correction and some parts redone or from different takes. But it's pretty similar to my ears.
