Madonna claims the No. 28 spot on our list of America’s Richest Self-Made Women, which appeared in the June 15th, 2015 issue of FORBES magazine. She’s the wealthiest musician on the list.

One of the top pop divas of all time, she has grossed an estimated $1.2 billion on the road in her career, including $305 million on her recent MDMA tour. That helped her earn an estimated $125 million two years ago, more than any other musician. Look for another bump when she starts touring her latest album, 'Rebel Heart,' in August. Meanwhile, her fortune continues to grow modestly thanks to royalties and the rising value of her real estate portfolio, which includes an unusually large townhouse on Manhattan's Upper East Side purchased at the bottom of the market.

Well as we all know she's worth at least $50 mill more than that. Forbes is

A) very passive aggressive towards her

B) well known to give conservative estimates

F Forbes. I say shes positively worth more...way more. I'm thinking at least 100-200m more. Like others said they def. have a blatant passive/aggressive beef w/ her. Dunno if they have down-lo Monster/Lambs employed but they're shady w/ her overall- always have been.

Her art collection alone could easily reach that net worth though… and we all know M is nothing if not financially savvy.

We know she has kept that money working since she hit her very first mill.

Yup. This is why it's always amusing when they have to begrudgingly include her in these types of lists. I'm sure Madonna isn't bothered in the least but Forbes can suck it.

Anyway, still very impressive. Go M

Her net worth have been roughly the same on Forbes for years! They have no clue what her net worth is unfortunately. One day, I'm sure Madonna will be forced to disclose.

So proud of her! She is so rich but she takes good care of her money and is smart about it. Like we never see her being flashy with buying a whole bunch of luxury cars or owning like 10 homes. One of the many reasons I love her.

Her art collection alone is worth at least 20% of that figure.

Or like M herself said in that radio interview when they said she was worth 500 (?) m...Yeah fuck that shit

If we believe what Forbes says then their 580M is off.

This is what forbes said she made...

1st 8 years of her career........125M

2002 thru 2005...................... 40M-50M per year

2006........................................73M

2007-2008..............................40M-50M per year

2009....................................... 110M

2013...................................... 125M

Total per Forbes (using 50M for the years listed as 40M-50M) 733M

years not represented... 1992 thru 2001.

The thing is that Forbes can give any number when it comes to her net worth because no one can prove them wrong except Madonna herself, her lawyers or accountants. And these people will never speak. Contrary to all other people on the list (except for Beyonce) the net worth of all those other women is coming from owning shares of their companies or selling their business. All those transactions are usually public record. So they can do the math. With Madonna it's different. The net worth they publish comes more or less from her income over the years. And they know how much she paid for her mansion on the UES or her Bridgehampton compound or for how much she sold her Harperley Hall appartment and her BH compound. It's on public record. They don't know about her art (except for what is actually known but I doubt they try to figure out the estimated value since this might be heavily exceeded when a painting is auctioned and to say the market is hot right now is an understatement) or her investments which are definately shielded behind LLCs with weird names. And Forbes doesn't even make the claim to know about it. I think they somewhere state the fact that their evalutions do not consider those art collections etc. they have no access to. It's all guestimates anyway.

She might be and certainly is worth north of a billion dollars. But even the 520 million are damn impressive because they come from hard work. Physical work. Money she made from working her ass off. Not some money that was made from money parked in investment funds or shares without lifting a finger.

Thanks for sharing their past guesstimates. I always have massive doubts about accuracy when it comes to her numbers from any publication. Her profile write-up was also not proofread as it says she took in "$305 million on her recent MDMA tour". Just a slip-up or intentional by the Forbes writer? Hmmm.

Like Madonna said in 1991 to ABC "Oh Forbes magazine, what do they know ...."

There was a RS article 15 years ago claiming she was THEN worth $600M :rotfl:

I find it really hard to believe that someone who has accumulated sales of 300m plus $1.2bn in touring revenue and all the rest can "only" be worth 500m after 32 years at it. If we look at album sales alone, assuming she only made a dollar for every copy sold (which is obviously an absurdity) that would mean she's already at $300m from record sales alone.

What about the $10m-$15m she's been making per ad campaign from 1999 onwards almost every single year for the likes of Max Factor 1999, BMW & Microsoft 2001, Gap 2003, Versace 2004, Motorola 2005, H&M 2006-2007, LV 2008-2009, Dolce and Gabbana 2009-2010, Smirnoff 2011, Versace 2015 .... the list from that department of her career alone is endless and a constant source of revenue, without counting her writing royalty clout, the licensing, the merchandising and of course on the touring front 90% share of net profit as per LN deal
