MeakMaker
No wonder Beyonce is always on tour! She's just finished her own tour and now she's touring with her husband Jay Z. Touring is where the money is at now in show business. Even selling millions of single (at $0.99 a pop ..LOL) is not going to be enough to sustain a career.. lori
If you do the math, Madonna averaged almost $3 million per show based on 382 shows. She did 156 less shows than the Rolling Stones and 146 shows less than U2. Had she done an equal number of shows as the Stones or U2, she would actually have out-grossed them both. Really impressive! madonnasuperfan01
It's sad that Bruce Springsteen is above her but as people said, she did it with WAY less shows. It's very impressive.
pj:
I did the math, here are the results per concert: RS 2,910,394 U2 2,880,189 BS 1,645,277 M 2,984,898 BJ 1,782,
horn
If you divide the gross with number of shows, this is what you'll get: 1. 2,984,897 Madonna 2. 2,910,394 The Rolling Stones 3. 2,880,189 U2 4. 1,782,150 Bon Jovi 5. 1,645,277 Bruce Springsteen

It's true that touring has been this way for a while for all these performers who need to make $$$. M can probably make so much money by just focusing on any of her hits for a tour, but that would be boring & predictable. I always want M to perform new music unless her newest songs are not that great.
madonnasuperfan01
Well i think Madonna will do at least one greatest hits tour at a point or another. To be honest, i would love it, it'll be amazing. I'm not saying she should do that the rest of her career (i agree, it would be boring and predictable) but at least one would be cool.
lori
If she had done 156 more shows to equal that of the Stones, she would have grossed 1,605,874,873 making her No. 1. Or if she had done 146 more shows to equal that of U2, she would have grossed 1,576,025,90, still making her No. 1.
Mooncrown11
That's amazing and well deserved. She should be the top woman if not the top overall

dollhouse
She will outgross them in a few years, maybe not U2 but RS. The total gross is not that important, its the amount of shows/attendance/ticket prices what counts.
DreamTheater
Also Madonna made most of that money after 2000. Probably she's at 1 for the 21st century and will remain there for years.
