Relationships with that album seem the most conflicted of all of M's discography I know this is a huge generalisation, but I think most Americans don't really "get" this album or realise how huge Hung Up and the whole album were in the rest of the world. Skin Posted April 24, 2014 Share Posted April 24, 2014 Don't get me wrong. There are a handful of songs on it that I love. (Gang Bang, I'm Addicted, Falling Free, Beautiful Killer....) but come on. After a 4 year break this is really the best she could come up with!? I honestly don't think her head was fully in it. (If it was she would have put Beautiful Killer on the main album and took away the shit stain that is Superstar) That being said I think many of us agree the tour that followed is one of her best EVER. Another thing that gets me is the fantastic reaction initially to albums like Hard Candy and MDNA but how everything changed when they didn't live up to commercial expectations despite being successful in their own right and in the current musical landscapes. Everyone started slagging them off pretty soon after. It was the same with the Erotica era if anyone remembers that time. Bedtime Stories was pitted up against it to make it seem inferior or lacking but over time it rose to almost mythical proportions in our eyes.
